Common Questions and Answers about Can you get alcohol poisoning from beer

alcohol

Avatar m tn Sounds like a bad reaction with another drug you had in your system at the time. 6 oz of beer is not enough to do anything. You symptoms are indicative of another problem and you should see a medical professional.
Avatar m tn itz 8%beer
Avatar f tn I didn't get alcohol poisoning from HALF A BEER and who said anything about stopping antidepressants? Zoloft gave me my life back, I don't care about drinking I just wondered why I seem to have developed an alcohol intolerance. Seriously these replies are making it look like I want to just get wasted every day for the rest of my life... no.
Avatar m tn I know from first hand experience that a lot of things go through your mind when you think someone may have alcohol poisoning, and there is a natural reaction to hope you are wrong and wait to see if the person to be OK, and that people may very well get mad if you are wrong and drag them to the hospital.
Avatar n tn m quite sure it was not alcohol poisoning, I had 2 drinks the entire evening and was not having the symptoms of alcohol poisoning. I thank you though for helping me figure out what it might be.
Avatar n tn t know if there was something added to one of your drinks or if it is alcohol poisoning. Please get it checked out. If it is an allergy benadryl would likely help but best to have it looked at by a doctor.
554064 tn?1215625376 My mother, my daughter, myself and some cousins all get sick from rum. It is like food poisoning. It is not the alcohol as we can drink other things, just not rum.
Avatar m tn t drink so much. This is called alcohol poisoning and you can die from it. Please if you do drink again, do so moderately and learn what your limit is. - My limit is 1/2 beer, after that my nose gets numb.
Avatar f tn My doctor told me that you feed and if you want a beer/ glass of wine, you can do it then. I wasn't a big drinker---- but one beer after nursing should be fine. If you are worried. Just pump and dump the next feeding in a few hours and use already pumped breast milk at that feeding. good luck sweetie. Oh, and the thing about safe to drive, safe to nurse is that everyone is so different.
Avatar f tn The best advice I can give is that you abstain entirely from drinking alcoholic beverages, until this issue is accurately diagnosed.
Avatar f tn No they say you can have wine here and there but I wouldn't even risk that I'd put my child's health first
Avatar m tn Think of it as getting lucky this time. There are only so many times you can drink until you have alcohol poisoning without some permanent damage to your liver. Take it from someone that knows. Diagnosed 03-23-10 end stage cirrhosis.
Avatar f tn So I've been DYYYINGG to drink one little beer or one little mimosa for months, but of course havent done so. So I was wondering if it's ok to drink something while breastfeeding? I don't want to get the baby drunk from my milk, that'd be terrible lol! Is there a max amount I can drink or should I just skip it altogether?
558096 tn?1255887002 As I explained in another post, I am studying to be a substance abuse counselor and mixing drugs causes the synergistic effect. For example, if one xanax equals one beer and you drink one beer, one would think that the effect would equal 2 beers. WRONG! "stacking" narcotics and tranquilizers is VERY dangerous due to the this effect. Drinking and taking Sub CAN be very dangerous but then again ask your doc.

1945228 tn?1324188779 re discussing having panic attacks from drinking.......have either of you considered getting into therapy to find the root cause of your panic, which, apparently, is triggered by alcohol for both of you? My advice..........either don't drink and avoid those pesky panic attacks, or seek the cause, and most likely the cure, with therapy.
Avatar n tn s part of the distillation/brewing process, so if it *is* diabetes, you should get the same odor no matter what type of alcohol you drink, although the intensity might vary from spirit to spirit. But I would recommend you see your doctor, and get it checked out, everything is easier to treat when discovered early.
Avatar f tn My advice to you is to give up alcohol entirely. You contradict yourself. You say you " never drink a lot of alcohol " but " I've tried many alcoholic drinks". If you get trembling sick with nausea after drinking alcohol and then you say you have to throw up everything in your stomach and you can't eat anything for 2 days, I think you know what you need to do. Stop drinking any alcohol.
Avatar m tn t urinate for some reason except once after I started drinking (and I just found out every time you urinate 10% of it leaves your body) and I drank on an empty stomach. Is that enough that I got a small case of alcohol poisoning? I woke up puking everywhere which I never do unless I'm REALLY sick and I was shivering even though my family member says it was hot in here and I don't get cold easily on top of that and I was confused and other unpleasant things.
718543 tn?1230295284 The Alcohol threads are always controversial here. Normally, I am from the camp that if you have minimal liver damage and you would like to have an occasional drink, go for it. However, drinking because of depression can be flirting with disaster (especially if you have a past history of diving to the bottom of a bottle to ease depression). I know very little about co-infection and it’s effects on the liver. I strongly suggest you discuss this with your Dr.
Avatar n tn It's not likely that one episode of alcohol consumption will affect the pregnancy. The only exception I could see would be if you drank so much you got alcohol poisoning. I wouldn't worry! Now drinking throughout the pregnancy can cause birth defects and fetal alcohol syndrome, but one episode in early pregnancy isnt likely to make any difference.
Avatar f tn See... the only studies done, are after the fact, on women who have admitted to drinking. What they have found is that it takes 7+ alcoholic drinks A DAY to show an effect on fetal development. If these women are admitting to 7, imagine how much they are really drinking. I do not drink when I am pregnant, because I enjoy drinking a lot, not just a little lol. I'd rather just have none.
Avatar m tn Take having Hep-C and throw in the controversy from AAers (can lead to relapse) about NA beer and all you can do is take the information before you and chose for yourself. I've had a six-pack of NA beer in my fridge for a year and a half and still have 2-left. It's just an every now and then thing for me depending on my mood. If you feel that you need to be able to drink it then you probably need to stay away from it.
11236850 tn?1416445990 Another possibility is an allergy to what the beer is made out of - grain. I would try straight liquor and see if you get the same response. You may be able to drink just not beer. Obviously go very slow - small sip at first, wait - no reaction then a bit more.
