contractions

11533887 tn?1422330747 m having tightning under my ribs and period cramps, is this pressure under my ribs the start of contractions? I understand the purpose of contractions is to move the baby down and out; this is why I am wondering if it's normal to feel this pain right above where she sits.
Avatar n tn What you experienced could be Braxton Hicks contractions. These are your body preparing for labour. Your tummy will feel tight and abdominal pain is normal.
Avatar f tn Lol okau thanks girls ! Im a total worry wort so everything makes me question somthing!
Avatar f tn Blugrshart, with those contractions could you feel them with your hands on your belly? I didn't even try to do this earlier as I was trying to get my blood sugar back up... my OB wants me to go get monitored if they're 8 minutes apart but if I can't feel them idk what I'll do.
4093350 tn?1358096154 Deff sounds like Braxton hicks contractions which are nothing to worry about. As long as you have no cramping, bleeding, and u still feel the same fetal movement I wouldn't worry! If u are concerned call ur Dr to double check!
Avatar f tn I was having pains in my right ribs down my right side and my dr checked me to see if I was in labor.. that was about 36 weeks.. im 37 now about to be 38. it ended up being my ribs separating but he said it could of been contractions not everyone feels them the same way I guess..
10870053 tn?1416581194 Is your babies in your ribs 24/7?? I feel like my little princess is staying in my ribs..
Avatar f tn Is it a constant pain or does it come and go? Some women feel the contractions on their backs and others feel it in the lower part of their tummies, like really bad, uncomfortable and painful cramps. With my two previous deliveries I felt them in the lower part of my tummy and I knew I was in true labor when they were only 5 to 6 minutes apart for about an hour and they were getting stronger and stronger each time.
Avatar f tn Its probably just your ribs spreading, along with her being up in your ribs ! You normally don't have contractions that high!
Avatar f tn Poking and thumps..
Avatar f tn That's terrible of them! I'm glad you aren't just letting it go. I hope everything is okay with you, and baby can come soon as he was clearly trying to do! I really don't understand why they would stop your contractions with how far along you are. I'm honestly mad for you.. I had a really bad experience with an ER when I first found out I was pregnant, but I just let it go.. so every time I hear of hospitals doing crap like this it pisses me off even worse!
Avatar f tn Most likely braxton hicks (: I get them all the time!!! I'm 39+1 and you get them much more closer to your due date!
Avatar f tn How did you feel physically before labor? What gave you hints labor was starting? Or about to start? Emotionally? Mentally? How did your body let you know it's almost time? Then how long after did you go into labor?
Avatar f tn Can you feel your cervix thinning? Is it possible for it to start thinning at 25 weeks and is it considered normal?
Avatar f tn I think its more to do with the fact there's not much room left, or could be the length between your pelvis and ribs im quite short so that's why I feel my baby high still! I wouldn't worry about it alot of baby's don't fully engage til labor.
1549562 tn?1304004489 This is my fourth baby and i started feeling movements around 13 or 14 weeks. Uusually if it's your second or 3rd you feel movements earlier. I dont think it matters how many years it is between the preganancies..you know the flutters when you feel then. And I agree with SEPEARS1 it is impossible for her to feel the movements in her ribs. Im 26 weeks tuesday i will 27 and i'm just starting to feel the baby in my ribs. She would more than likely be feeling them below her belly button.
6711838 tn?1405009844 I am 36w 5d and I keep waking up extremely uncomfortable (more then usual) I'm having sharp pains right at the tips of my hip bones on both sides. And she feels like she is in a tight ball in the center. But then right after the pain goes away she kicks like crazy under my ribs. My husband tried rubbing my belly and the slightest touch felt like my skin was going to rip. I just had an ultrasound Tuesday and they told me she was really high and didn't want to come out any time soon.
Avatar f tn Ftm, 34.5 weeks along, I've been having some pain in my abdomen this week. I can't tell if it is just from my baby girl getting bigger or if it is braxton hicks starting. Sometimes it almost feels like I have to poo or have gas but then I can't go and sometimes it hurts in my ribs (maybe a foot in them). My back has also been killing me just below my shoulders. I'm just wondering if anyone can tell me what contractions and/or labor pains are like.
