You need to do a web seach on the Ambien/zolpiedem. It is highly addictive and very hard to get off of. I used it for months during detox from lortabs to help with sleep and anixety and I can tell you that I think it slowed my withdrawal process down. I have started doing research on this drug the ambien. It is highly addictive more so than the Benzos like Xanax and valium etc and as hard to get off of as an opiate. Doctors are prescribing this medication and the lunesta for months and years.
From what I was informed by my psychiatrist Lunesta although not a benzodiazepene is related to one so a person might find that it is less effective over time. One other sleep aide you might ask your psychiatrist about is Rozerem which is an FDA approved medication that works like melatonin to adjust the sleep cycle and is non addictive.
Hey all, so I got tired of not sleeping more than 4hrs a night after being off of Tramadol 42days and my Dr gave me Lunesta. I asked if it was addicting and he said yes but you won't buid up a tolerance to it... I would like to hear this though from someone that has taken this medication and has had to come off it... How hard was it? What where the wds like???ect.ect any info on this would be appreciated...Thank You.

Hey there...you cannot cut the dose in half....i would call your doctor and see if he/she can change your meds or if it's ok to stop..Levaquin can be given in 250, 500 & 750 mg doses...I was on Levaquin earlier this year for uti and had horrible side effects, so i just stopped taking the meds...I had horrible heart pounding, swollen knees and it felt as if someone had beaten the crap out of me with a baseball bat...
I, too, was addicted to Darvocet at one time.
People just laughed at me (including Dr) when I said they were too weak of a drug to cause much WD. HA! That's so not true!

I've never been able to taper, but if you only have a few left & don't have access to more, I agree with Sway, just cut them in half & try not to take a half unless it's absolutley nessasary. I was told that Darvocet sorta binds to the same receptors as Methadone.

I think the biggest side effect that you might have will be insomnia. I used to take Lunesta and when I stopped I didn't sleep for a week. On a positive note,,,COngrats on 20days!!!
