Common Questions and Answers about Can you break lunesta in half

lunesta

Avatar m tn 5mg (half pill), 3mg (full pill), or 4.5mg - one and half pills). I usually do 175mg trazadone plus half pill lunesta for sleep almost every night. i've been on the sleep meds for about 2-3 months. Sometimes, i take just lunesta since I have retrograde ejaculation due to trazadone. I take these medications for sleep insommnia. They work. I also take propecia for hair loss (not sure that it's related). I also take cialis/viagra as needed for ED that started about 5-6 years ago.
266660 tn?1189755834 Did you talk with your doctor about taking the two together, like a half hour before bed? I used to take my kpin before bed with some medication that makes you tired together. How does the lunesta work btw?
Avatar m tn The opana does the same thing as the fentanyl - - keep those as far apart as you can. Dont mix the lunesta and the diazepam in too close a dose. They will also mirror each others affects. Sounds like Doc Jeff could help a little more if he knew how many of what and at what times he takes them. You have a couple that are used for pain and a couple along the nerve pill line. Its either being dosed improperly or the doses are accumulating and causing a problem for him.
Avatar n tn You think you are not going to sleep without it so you go ahead and take it every night. I tried lunesta but couldn't get past the taste. It stayed with me all night. I also take ambein . It helps with irritability.
Avatar n tn ll need to ask your doctor for a proper, and slow taper plan. You cannot just start cutting doses in half, and so forth. This is why a doctor should be the one giving the instructions, to minimize any withdrawal symptoms. You will most likely experience some rebound insomnia, so discuss other alternatives with your doctor for that as well. If I may ask, why do you want to stop taking the Xanax now?
Avatar f tn From what I was informed by my psychiatrist Lunesta although not a benzodiazepene is related to one so a person might find that it is less effective over time. One other sleep aide you might ask your psychiatrist about is Rozerem which is an FDA approved medication that works like melatonin to adjust the sleep cycle and is non addictive.
Avatar m tn t sleep well. You can buy melatonin at your vitamin shop, or pharmacy, in strengths ranging from 1 mg to around 5 mg. You might try a low dose to start with and see if that helps. I sometimes have the same issue with sleep; however, mine stems, a lot, from the hours I have to keep. My work schedule requires me to get up at 3:30 am; that means I must go to bed no later than 7:30 pm. It's not unusual for me to wake up around midnight or 1:00 am and not be able to go back to sleep.
Avatar f tn Hey all, so I got tired of not sleeping more than 4hrs a night after being off of Tramadol 42days and my Dr gave me Lunesta. Avatar n tn Ambien is available in 5mg dosage...might be the right thing for you if you are splitting the 10mg ones in half.
Avatar n tn Do you think that is too much? Can i cut the pills in half. I am a tiny person and my doc knows that. I dont know why she would give me the highest dose? I have a phobia of taking pills.
Avatar f tn honey, i would break them in half and wait until you start to feel the withdrawal symptoms begin, then try a half. you are going to have withdrawal. i have been off them for about a month and it was hard. i went to the doctor that was giving them to me. i brought him a copy of the thomas recipe(lower right of this page) and he prescribed me some valium to use for the first 5 days. i was on darvs for like 20 years taking about the same amount as you. if you want to pm me, please feel free.
Avatar n tn they will really give you great help..they will break it down for you in amounts, help you find a doctor to do the taper...they also have a book called the ASTON MANUEL...You should read it..DETOXING FROM XANAX CAN BE VERY PAINFULL IF NOT DONE RIGHT... PLEASE CHECK IT OUT''''''''benzoisland.
Avatar f tn Hey Sandy is Lyrica better than Lunesta? I'm trying out the Lunesta but I get a metalic flavor after I take it and it doesn't go away till like mid day the next day...
619930 tn?1260374254 Am having trouble getting more than 4 to 5 hours sleep a night. This has only been happening in for the last 6 weeks since being pulled from a 3 combo drug trial ( l was on the meds for 4 weeks). Have never had a problem sleeping in the past. With only 4 weeks of meds in my system l am finding it hard to believe that they are still hanging around...
Avatar m tn I think the biggest side effect that you might have will be insomnia. I used to take Lunesta and when I stopped I didn't sleep for a week. On a positive note,,,COngrats on 20days!!!
1102799 tn?1269237714 I haven't sleeped more than 2 and a half hours a night in 16wks nothinghas helped my Dr.
Avatar f tn Ambien and Lunesta are both known as "Z" drugs. Though not benzos in the traditional sense, they act on the same receptors and have the same problems as traditional benzos. The people I have seen get off of them have tapered slowly and found another drug to help with sleep until sleep normalizes. Slowly reduce your dose and try a non-narcotic sleep aid such as Rozerem or Trazodone.
Avatar f tn You might try taking a combination of Valerian and Melatonin when you stop the Lunesta. I was taking Lunesta in my early withdrawals and it did make me sleep, but that nasty taste was to much for me. I must say I haven't really slept really well since, but the herbs I mention do help somewhat, I take a hot bath before bed then I take them. From what I've heard Lunesta withdrawals are mainly mental, but you can get addicted to just about anything.
Avatar f tn Celexa (depression), Ultram (pain) Vicodin (bad pain), Lunesta (to stay asleep), and now Provigil (to stay awake in the day). I have say, these all are helping, but maybe about 50%. The pain never goes away, only flucuates to bad or worse. The Lunesta is great. I tried Ambien & Sonata, but couldn't handle the side effects. Lunesta keeps me asleep but doesn't make me feel hung-over in the morning.
1355301 tn?1287967641 A friend told me that she learned in a dream class in college that you only remember your dreams is you wake up during them. My doctor disagrees. But it seems logical if I wake up remembering dreaming all night long and feeling like I haven't slept a bit. I am taking lunesta which has helped but I don't like being dependent on a sleep med.
1000729 tn?1253365050 I only used them at night to get to sleep.... I have been to see my Doc. and he gave me some Lunesta and wants me to try it in the next couple of days.... Just figure I will wait for another day or two.... I am still getting RLS but it isn't in my legs, it's in my ARMS!!!!!! Can anyone offer insite as to how to combat that one.... My arms will uncontrollably retract out to a straight position and then back to the fetal position.....
