concerta

5757880 tn?1395578022 I asked my doctor to double the dose and I break them in half. Got my price down to $20 mo.
Avatar n tn that is sweet spot but a small ammount of alprazolam will overpower MPH and if it does you will need literally half bottle of Concerta, this is my experience and I say for mayority of other reports that i red in last 2 years so you are safe but take 1mg xanax more and no cleaning...
Avatar n tn Aside from a bit of anxiety (which could be due to PMS and the test), I do not feel any side effects. I have been sleeping and eating well. After taking a break from Concerta in the past, I have experienced irritability, sadness, and moodiness (which also could have been due to PMS given the timing of the symptoms; I've always had unpleasant PMS). Any recommendations for managing these (potential) aftereffects are welcome, too. Sorry if this is a rookie question or if has been answered...
Avatar f tn I don't know what concerta is hon. But I wish you and your family well. I would try to get maybe a peer of his(an uncle maybe or something?), to try to get him to go to a doc and be checked out. Cause parents have a hard time listening to they're kids sometimes, ya know? So if he has a best friend or close relative I'd speak to them about it. Thats just one womans opionion. All my best sweetheart. I know whats it's like to worry about your Dad.
Avatar m tn My prescription ran out and I used a concerta my concern is if I have a urine test or hair follicle test will the methylphenidate in the concerta show up? Concerta is not my prescribed medicine.
Avatar m tn Lack of sleep at night can seriously mess you up. Usually, you are not even aware of it. That would explain the way you feel, and why it is so hard to get going in the morning. I certainly would have thyroid levels checked out, along with iron levels, etc. Basically, a good blood analysis looking at all factors. You never really mentioned what the side effects were of the Concerta that was bothering you. You have gone from a mid range dose to the smallest dose.
Avatar n tn Yes, it is possible. While the active ingredient in Concerta is the same as in Ritalin LA, the method of metabolizing the medication differs.
Avatar m tn My plan is to switch to a med I can take and slowly cut the pills in half and taper off. You can’t cut the concerta since it’s extends release. Please anyone give me an idea on what I should do to get off this.
Avatar f tn Concerta is almost identical to Ritalin.
Avatar n tn s been a week and still nothing, just like before.I was wondering, can I give Omega 3 in the same time?Do you think it would help? And if I decide to up his dose to 36 mg and still see no difference, what are the other kind of meds out there?I'm at the end of my rope here. The teacher is doing all she can,but she also has 16 other kids to tend to,I can't expect her to tend to onl mine kwim? She is great and I know for a fact that she does all she can. Please suggestion needed!
Avatar f tn i was a little back taken with the diagnose as you can imagine.but he is showing signs of asperger symptons.but he is very functional.im on line just learning myself about this condition and would really like to know if there are support groups in my area.and if there are special classes for children to learn social skills.etc. i also have a 9 yr old with add.will my children be able to live a healthy normal life!must my AS child be on so many meds is it going to help!
Avatar m tn ve described could be attributed to taking to high a dose. You can do that yourself. The tablets have little groves in them. They are designed to be broken in half or quarters. I take it, from the way you've worded your questions, that you are on the 20mg XR, orange capsules. There are little, time release, beans inside. It's kind of messy but you can open the capsules up and take some of the beans out. Just be sure not to break any of them.
Avatar f tn honey, i would break them in half and wait until you start to feel the withdrawal symptoms begin, then try a half. you are going to have withdrawal. i have been off them for about a month and it was hard. i went to the doctor that was giving them to me. i brought him a copy of the thomas recipe(lower right of this page) and he prescribed me some valium to use for the first 5 days. i was on darvs for like 20 years taking about the same amount as you. if you want to pm me, please feel free.
Avatar f tn Hi Bill! Wow - 54 mg? Did you start off on a lower dose? That sounds awfully high... I've been on methylphenidate for about three years. (I take the brand Ritalin, but I'm pretty sure Ritalin and Concerta are about the same thing.) I started off on 5 mg, three times a day (of the non extended release) and I got a lot of benefit from it.
Avatar m tn I have got one site that says that 36 of concerta = 30 of V. That would indicate that you are now taking more V then you are used to from the 18 of concerta - which is kind of what I suspected (if the link is correct). Ya, you do need to talk to your doc. 9003081 tn?1401126498 With ADD, it is common for a doctor to write prescriptions for 2 or 3 months at a time (but you have to ask). You can also find out exactly what a proscription will cost at the pharmacy by using one of many websites. I'd be glad to give anyone tips on how to cut costs when paying "out of pocket" if you leave me a message or note.
Avatar m tn Whilst taking the meds, I noticed that the veins in my arms, hands, stomach and along the shaft of my penis expanded in size. I also had increases in bp to about 160/70. Since stopping the veins are still more prominent than they were before. I have less desire to have sex. I have an enlarged varicocele (which became larger after ritalin/concerta). Initially (for about two months), whilst I was on Ritalin I experienced increased libido and experienced really intense erections.
Avatar m tn My 6 year old DD was started on concerta about a month and a half ago. This is the first medication they suggested to us. She seems to be doing really well in school but the side effects at home are becoming hard for us to handle. SHe has become very nonaffectionate, emotional, withdrawn, and seems to be uninterested in life. She also will not eat at all. She is eating maybe one meal a day. I am wondering if we switch medications, will the side effects be the same/as bad?
Avatar f tn It defeats the slow release concept.
Avatar m tn These are typical side effects froom withdrawls of that type of medication (amphetamine, methylphetamine) or stimulants. If a patient is used to being on a stimulant drug for some time, withdrawing that drug would cause a general slowing down of the body, hence the extreme fatigue, lack of motivation and focus. Your body is going through an increased response of side effects from withdrawl, as you've been of this medication for a year which is why your symptoms may be more exaggerated.
5757880 tn?1395578022 There are websites that will show you the cost of prescription drugs at your local area. The one I use is www.goodrx.com. You can type in the name of the drug you are looking for and it will tell you the cost at your local pharmacies. It will also give you a little coupon that you can cut out and take to the pharmacy. Sometimes the pharmacy won't take the coupon but 90% of the time they do.
Avatar n tn Your post is light on details but if you're having palpitations and high heart rate at rest (how high in the 100's are we talking?) then you should get checked out. I understand that you are afraid of having your activity levels or current medications altered but only a Dr. with proper testing equipment can tell you if your symptoms are indicative of a heart issue, an adverse reaction to your ADHD drug or simply a benign nuisance (most likely).
Avatar f tn I found out that topomax, zoomig and migraine meds can NOT be mixed and taken with Effexor. You can get what is called Seritonin Overdose Syndrome and some people have even died from it. And SADLY a lot of hospitals and even drs and emergency rooms don't even realize or know about it even though its listed in FDA reports and news articles.
Avatar m tn Hi there, My daughter suffers from ADHD, she is super sweet & in 3rd grade now, she was diagnosed when she was in 2nd grade. I am not sure how your son is, but I can explain how my daughter is with & w/out Concerta, she just recently started focalin to help with homework. My husband was completely against it & now understands it & even asks me if I gave her the medication the days we for forget.
Avatar n tn Can we try cutting my son's 54mg concerta tablet in half. He is experiencing kind of a zoned out feeling, even though he is able to concentrate, he feels strange on it. Can we try cutting it in half?
