1926359 tn?1331588139 Do you think you can call your doctor? I think you may need a different sleep med. Something else would work. When I am sleep deprived and can't fall asleep (I've not gone as long as you have) I turn on an audiobook or go on the computer to New Life Live, the call-in counseling show and listen. I can steam it on my computer. Also, I listen to live meetings. There are lots of UA (under earners anonymous meetings from now till noon). I dial in and listen to the meeting.

Avatar f tn As a teenager I went through a year of sleep deprivation. I got about six hours of sleep a night. I felt very sleepy every day and even had feelings of confusion and derealization. Did I cause any permanent damage to my brain? In addition, has damage caused by oxidative stress and free radicals irreversibly increased my cancer risk?
Avatar m tn Obstructive Sleep Apnea is unlikely to cause hallucinations, but and they can occur with certain medications, stress, sleep deprivation, in certain brain disorders and with schizophrenia or bipolar disorders. So, like you mentioned sleep deprivation can cause hallucinations. But if they persist, I would advise you to discuss your symptoms with your primary care physician for further evaluation. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

534800 tn?1217167359 I have been living with a host of menopausal symptoms for over two years now (hot flashes, sweats, chronic insomnia, mood swings, migraines, exhaustion, you name it) and I feel the lack of sleep is severely affecting my overall mood at this point and causing great tension between myself and my family. I cannot seem to get my estrogen leveled out (try everything natural, no interest in drugs or hormones) and nothing seems to work right now.
Avatar f tn t fix the sore boobs and cramping lol, but works wonders for the sleep deprivation. I know Conner will sleep good later on because he gets circumsized today, so I can always nap when the kids do. My boobs on the other hand...KILL lol I am finally engorged, and I found that out when hubby accidently elbowed my boob in my sleep....tell ya what, I wasn't asleep long lol. I tried nursing, and he just isn't doing it.

The increased desire to eat is common in those lacking sleep. Has something to do with an imbalance of the appetite hormones. Also, when your body craves sleep and can't get it, a desperate desire for energy can cause a misplaced desire for food.

Avatar f tn Apparantly, a thick build up of mucus can be caused due to the lack of ample fluids. Your diet can also be a cause, with certain foods aiding in its production. If you smoke, and the mucus is grey/brownish, then that would be your problem. It may even turn out to be an environmental issue as mine did. Do you have less trouble when going on holiday, etc? If that's the case then it might be something in the home thats causing it.
Avatar m tn So, do you think that I have any of the above or do you think that most of this can be counted off as anxiety, caffeine, and sleep deprivation?
