No, or I should say highly unlikely. Ovarian cysts may rupture or 'twist' and when that happens it will feel like sharp stabbing pains. You may also get, as part of cysts, irregular periods or heavier periods. Your physician/obgyn (or the ER depending on pain level, etc) should be contacted in any of those cases or when anything 'feels' different. But, no, dying is not likely. I have posted here before in greater detail of my problem,but to make a long story somewhat short... This past year, I had three ovarian cysts rupture (2 were diagnosed -through u/s for the second rupture, and through ct scan for the third rupture). I also had the exact episode happen in February, but did not know what it was as I did not seek medical attention. I had been having these episodes happen numerous times over the years, but never knew what it was until now.
m sure that if it was an emergency, the doctor would have treated it as such. Cysts can either rupture or twist your ovary and that is very painful. If you experience horrible pain like that you should definitely go to the ER again. Try not to worry though. We sometimes make things seem worse than they are in our heads because we think too much about it and we're scared. Good luck. Let us know how it goes.
I am not a Dr by any means, but can tell you experience about a ruptured cyst. I had numerous ovarian cysts, some would rupture, some would need surgery. When I would have a rupture usually it was a very serious, intense, double me over type pain that would ease in a couple of hours, but still feel tender. My last cyst that ruptured however did become a more emergent surgery for me.
Mostly they are symptomless But Ovarian cysts can, however, cause problems if they twist, bleed, or rupture. Most ovarian cysts will go away on their own. One of the most effective treatments for ovarian cysts is use of contraceptive pills or progesterone pills. It can also be treated surgically and this procedure is known as drilling. Other modes of treatment are laparoscopic surgery, laparotomy or surgery for complicated ovarian cysts.
It's hard to believe that cysts can cause that much pain and discomfort, huh? Well, unfortunately for us, they can. At least you already know that they're just regular fluid filled cysts and still rather small. You need to talk to your doctor to see what medication is right to help shrink them. He/she is going to have to monitor them and schedule for an ultrasound every so often to see if they are in fact shrinking or growing.
There are more than one flavor of ovarian cysts and some are more cause for concern than the usual ones that occur due to what I think of as a misfired egg. I've had plenty of those along with hemorrhagic and chocolate cysts from endometriosis. Those tend to not rupture on their own and surgery usually is only considered after the size has been tracked for a few months and it gets so large that it causes more symptoms or interferes with fertility. Ain't it great to be a woman?!
in scar tissue and attached to my intestine.I guess my point is if your cyst is ready to rupture you will know it and yes it can be serious if you get internal bleeding , or if ovary ruptures also, in my case just the cyst ruptured, and then grew back. Glad to be done w that, no more pain, Good luck to all.
