As a Great Pyrenees breeder (GrendsLori Kennels) I can tell you that this is not uncommon for Pyrs to do this. If they are in hot weather, they tend to drink and eat much less which causes their stools to become looser. I have a 18 moth old right now that has hardly eaten anything for the last week-10 days. I would be FAR more worried about the fighting issues that you are going to be dealing with in the future of having 3 Pyrs. Someone should have warned you about this!!
Recently, I tried the Whole Meals bones, and she will eat those, but they give her diarrhea if I give her the recommended amount. She is on medicine for diarrhea because she has had such problems. Right now, I am feeding her a/d with a syringe but she fights it every step of the way and will spit it out if I give her the chance. I am at a loss - I just don't understand what it could be.
My 14 year old dog has been loosing her appetite more and more over the last 3 months, and I can barely get her to eat anything anymore now. It started with her not liking certain snack's anymore, I changed them she ate them for a while and then didn't like them anymore either. Then came her dog food (Iams Dry), which she has been eating all her live, first less then none, then Iams wet food, same thing.
My Shih Tzu is not eating, diarrhea, lethargic and skin is red. Took her to the vet yesterday and they gave her a shot of antibiotics, shot for diarrhea and one for the redness. I took her back this morning because she's still not better. The vet called and he still does not know what's wrong with her. Has anyone gone through these same symptoms with their dogs? Thanks.
Sometimes if they get parvo they vomit and appear really weak and have diarrhea with a really foul smell.You need to try to keep fluids in him as much as you can where he dont get dehydrated.You probably need to call your vet and tell them what is going on and see what they think you need to do to make sure that he is fine.Good luck.I hope he gets to feeling better soon.Take care and keep us posted.
I gave my dog an anti-diarrhea medicine and thought she'd die - the next day (18 hours or so later) she finally wanted food/water/could get up.
I have been giving Fortiflaura and even put it on her tongue to help with diarrhea - I'm scared and don't know what to do. Sleeping on couch next to dog for months now - vet said there's nothing she could do.
This situation should have been thought out properly before you got a puppy.....Just because you are vegetarian, does not mean your dog is!!! You are killing him slowly, by not providing a proper meat based diet for him.....
You need to make your dog a Vet appointment to rule out illness & then start over.....He is in desperate need of proper nutrition during the most important growing stage of his life!!!!
Has she had her shots. She is of the age that a puppy can get parvo and if NOT treated can cause death. I do not want to scare you, but catch it early and it is curable. Please find a way to get help. Parvo prevention is very important for puppies.

the inability to eat (not feeling sick, just not being hungry or interested in eating). I do not have a fever, a cough, allergies or anything else I can conclude to be at fault for these annoying symptoms. My doctor's nurse does not think you can have withdrawal from taking Betaseron. You got your darling little boy at Xmas. His stools were normal for 3wks. Did Lucky eat the fake flowers and grass, THEN get diarrhea? If not, the continuing diarrhea can be due to all the antib's he's been on. I also wonder if the Salmon and Green Pea is simply not agreeing with him?
Yes, that's most likely why. If you're not hungry, you must force yourself to eat something. Good nutrition and exercise are very important in controlling anxiety. Also, do you drink any of those sugary caffeine drinks? That is the worst thing you could do if you are. I say this because I know alot of kids drink those these days. Very very bad for anxiety.
I want you to eat some lunch right now. If you're not very hungry then eat some fruit or some soup....something light.
Not knowing the cause, I would continue what you are doing until you can get her to the Vet. The fact she is drinking a lot of water may be an indication if a possible kidney issue going on, ESP due to her age. Your Vet can run a blood test that might reveal a condition that needs treatment, it will be good to have the dog get a good physical exam.
