Can levoxyl be taken at night

Common Questions and Answers about Can levoxyl be taken at night

synthroid

Avatar n tn I too have been having this symptom, of a pounding heart, with throbbing in body and head, esp. at night and can notice it when I get still in the day also. I way diagnosed recently with Autoimmune thyroid disease and was in the state of hyperthryoid. This created a lot of palpitations esp. at night with irregular heart beats and pounding of heart (which is very noticable in my head also).
Avatar f tn Last week I was prescribed Armour thyroid to be taken 3 times per day, with the first dose to be taken in the morning together with a low dose of synthroid. Has anyone heard of this? I spoke to two pharmacists and they both report they have never seen it prescribed that way. Please help!!!
Avatar f tn That may be hard to do at work, although I can certainly understand your desire to be there when you take it. I guess if you can hold off on breakfast, it's not a problem. You could ignore all of those rules the first week you take the Synthroid. See how you react to the med. The thing is, if you do not take it as directed, the absorbtion of the medication can be decreased, making it less effective. That won't hurt for a few days, but you don't want to do it long term.
1256167 tn?1269628350 So, with reading all I shouldn't eat/take with in a rage of time after taking my meds I'm wondering, would it be a good idea to take my meds at night instead? I know that you all are not doctors and I really should leave it up to the suppervision of my doctor but......HE'S A QUAK!!
Avatar f tn I have been reading that taking to much Levoxyl can have an opposite affect if taking to much. It can stress out the adrenals therefore weight gain!! Just wondering if anyone has had this happen after starting Levoxyl?
Avatar f tn I will probably either go back to taking my Nutri Thyroid at an increased dose or try Levoxyl. Has anybody got any experience with this drug or Evotrox Liquid ?? Thanks for any help and advice you can give me. AquarianGlory This discussion is related to <a href='/posts/show/338035'>Levothyroid and mood swings</a>.
Avatar f tn So it really comes down to how you feel overall from a symptoms perspective. If you feel fine, then you may be optimized at least for the moment. If you are still showing symptoms of Hypo, than your latest results would indicate that a small bump in cytomel is something you would want to discuss with your Dr. for consideration.
Avatar m tn I am currently on 75 mcg of Synthroid 6 weeks post op and my TSH is now at 12.1...pre-op was at .5...and 2 weeks post op was at 1.0....the switch to Synthroid was at my 2 week post op appt. I am just wondering if the drug switch has anything to do with that...obviously I will have to be bumped up but do not know if I should request one over the other...HELP!!!!
Avatar n tn I have always taken levoxyl for my hypothyroidism. My sister was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism and was prescribed levothyroxin. Her dosage was increased shortly after her diagnosis and she gave me some of her pills because it is the same dose I am taking. She thought I could use the extra pills. Is there a difference in the response to these two medications? Also within the last several months my weight has increased, pretty much overall but mainly my stomach.
458072 tn?1291415186 Peggy -- my endo gave me a script for Xenical, which is a prescription strength of the same med that's in Alli. Xenical is not covered by insurance and is about $300/month, which I could not afford. After talking to my pharmacist, I did get some Alli and started on it -- it works, I just didn't follow through with it.
Avatar n tn You could be over medicated, but those symptoms can also be present with anxiety AND I had them when I was really hypo, so without seeing actual blood test results, it's really impossible for us to say whether you're over medicated or not. You said "this was during the time about 4-5 months ago when the endo put me back on levoyl"... I assume that's Levoxyl? Why were you taken off Levoxyl? Were you on another thyroid med during the time you weren't on Levoxyl?
1139187 tn?1355706647 Hi Bruce, you seriously need to chill ! Going to whip out some tough love. June 15th you stated you were on T4 only 120mcg, beginning June 1st,. June 26th you stated I feel better then I've felt in 3 yrs. Now you state your taking 150mcg. Pharmacist ordered 175 Levoxyl. Now get this, all of what you shared was within a month (4 wks),. Are you self medicating? I'm not fond of Endo's, but don't think one would increase dose, then change brand in a month.
Avatar f tn ½ in am and ½ at bedtime), I was having constant loud heartbeats waking me up at night, tightness and lump in my throat, and swelling of my neck under my chin. I also had more energy than I have had in years, so I know I was hyper. My endro told me my labs were “perfect” and there was nothing wrong with my thyroid, to go to heart doc, then to gyn. EKG and US already done, basically normal.
Avatar f tn Hi Dani, I really wish I could help you, but my doctor is the one who told me I converted. My blood levels reflected a need for meds. Based on my answers to his questions, he also decided to check my vitamin d level, and I am very low. Now I have to take d3 everyday, too. He said, "it seems you've converted". I couldn't be more thrilled and CAN'T WAIT for the levoxyl to kick in. I can't wait to be me again!!!!!!!!!! I am sorry you are struggling.
616450 tn?1228433627 After the RAI I felt great for a few months. When the doctor put me on Levoxyl, after I supposedly went a LITTLE hypo, I started feeling like ****. I have more anxiety, can't sleep and my heart gets pumped up easily. I get out of breath real easy too. I think my heart is affected and I have chest pains. I feel sick and nauseated all the time and have to go lay down even at work, so I'll eventually lose my job if something isn't done.
Avatar f tn Could the above statement from the drug website be for someone who has NEVER taken levoxyl or can it be an exception since i was on it previously not so long ago? I'm worrying myself here...
Avatar f tn Your thyroid levels were fine and if you added the cytomel to the 100mcg of levoxyl, the TSH will likely be too low (ie, too much medication) and if you stay on cytomel, the levoxyl dose would need to be changed most likely. The weight gain is not likely due to thyroid.
1063764 tn?1272821064 s and before I was on levoxyl I needed to take other OTC pain medication of a higher mg. Now after 3 months on levoxyl I can just take some Advil and no longer have the horrible headaches, yet I still do get a headache, but this headache I can deal with as opposed to the ones before I was diagnosed.
Avatar m tn Aside from the waking at night (actuallly my daughter wakes me up a few times at night, but when she wakes me up any time after 3:30, I can't get back to sleep), slightly dry hands and knees, and chest tightness (which comes and goes, depending on how much/little I sleep and didn't exist prior to armour), I actually feel fine -- but I've traded some symptoms for some others.
Avatar f tn I guess I would like to know and logically I would believe that the two have to have some type of difference for the Levoxyl to be deemed as another brand medication. I am no longer subclinical but not very high, 6.4 at my highest. It is already very difficult to sleep as it is and now slowly titrating up to the 25 mcg Levoxyl is making it even more difficult. I can’t take sleeping pills every day.
Avatar f tn I have two months worth of Tirosint 88 at home which I can toss or take an extra of one day a week to bring my dose to 705 a week. Just 5 above what it would be at 100 daily. Is it a bad idea to double up once a week? Is it too much or not good for your body? I also have two months worth of Levoxyl 100 at home. My old script before asking to switch to Tirosint. Can I take those in lieu of Tirosint 100 just to finish them up?
555598 tn?1215749084 what questions should I aske the endocrinologist, what side effects should I be reporting, and what advice can you give me? I just started the medication today. Sorry if I am rambling. Thank you for any help that I receive on this forum.
