Avatar n tn In all of the years I have been dealing with the cardiomyopathies, I've never heard any cardiologist say that 25% of cardiomyopathy patienst get better. The question is: are you saying they get better, or are cured? Heart function can improve with the right meds, however, the disease is still there and the CHF can return. If you were cured, you wouldn't be taking the medicines.
Avatar n tn And that is the reason why sometimes, I am full and sometimes i am hungry. And yes, I found out from the MIMS that Lanoxin is best taken on an empty stomach, My Dr, can not gv Lanoxin for me as a Maintenance Drug, since my BP is 90/60. And she can not see anything with my heart as showed in my 2D Echo with Doppler. Now she is considering hormonal imbalance, since I am entering a peri menopausal stage. But she advised me too to take a Stress Test to chck on my physio electrical activity.
Avatar n tn Sometimes the cells are not necrotic (dead) but are dormant (medically referred to as hybernating) and can be revitalized with an adequate supply of blood. This would pertain to an ischemic (lack of blood flow) heart attack. Treating the underlying cause, can reduce left ventricle size and restore normal contractility. Other causes for an MI such arrhythmia, viral heart disease, etc. do not have a very good prognosis.
Avatar n tn How do metoprolol, isosorb, and benazepril together, differ from, norvasc and lanoxin.
Avatar n tn i was wondering if there is any medication or what can be done to have his heart pump stronger so he doesnt continue to build fluid in his body. He currently takes lasix, aldactone and coumadin. Also, I researched Lanoxin and that sounds like it may be a drug suitable for him. Any advice you may have would be great thanks.
Avatar f tn Is your mother on any heart medications? Does the heart "racing" happen often? Line of thought here is that a beta blocker may be a help in dealing with the high heart rate, then that is something your doctor has to decide. Many of us take a generic named Metoprolol to slow our heart rate...in my case my HR is always high and I do not have an ICD/Pacemaker.
390388 tn?1279636213 I hit the button to fast to post. On the FDA site they have a place where you can be notified of any recalls listed; "after the dog food recalls" I had put my email address in to be notified of any updated recalls and never got off the list. Its hard to believe all the things that get recalled and never brought to attention to the people. It's free for anyone to get on. Just thought I would pass it along.
Avatar n tn and I want to know whether they can be repaired spontaneously by time or she needs a surgery, note that her heart is some how enlarged but she was gaining weight every month about 600g before medicine? please give me full explanation about her case.
Avatar f tn Does this mean that my enlarged heart could be reducing in size or just that the ICD and medication is working? I had a lot of stress before my diagnosis and have not worked since. Is it possible that if I go back to the stressful environment that my heart might get worse again or am I actually in the process of being cured?
Avatar n tn Same thing happened to me and my doctor told me at least they knew i could get pregnant so dont worry you will. Its sad i would cry so much but i had a little girl after that shes about to be 3 and now I'm expecting another one. I cant lie im scared after that first miscarriage but im staying positive and hoping for the best.
Avatar f tn My husband and I just got into a huge argument because he accidentally threw away my baby girls ultrasound pictures. I had them in an envelope because I was taking them to work to show people, and he mistakenly thought it was trash while he was cleaning and threw them out. Unfortunately the garbage man has already come and gone so they are definitely gone. Of course I was upset, but I didn't get angry with him because mistakes happen.
Avatar f tn My parents doesn't know I'm pregnant yet I've been scared to tell them especially my dad. But me and my boyfriend found a house and are moving in togather I told parents about the house and that I wanna move with him. And my dad's response was that I'm gonna get pregnant and be his biggest disappointment. This totally just crushed me now I don't even wanna tell him about his little grandson at all.
Avatar n tn i know that my daughters cardiologist at the univ of mich had told us when they put her on lanoxin that the risks of amiodarone in her case made her not a good candidate for it. i do know that many have taken it for short periods and it seemed to help, but i believe it generally not taken long term as lanoxin or digoxin is hope my little bit helps and good luck....... dawn p.s.

Avatar n tn He was then discharged and is now recovering at home. He was taking Lanoxin and diuretics and did not have any swelling or breathlessness. So after 3 months the doctor stopped these medications (without checking the EF). He went for his checkup this month (9 months after surgery) and his echo shows an EF of 40%. The doctor also mentions "Mild LV Dysfunction". So now the doctor has put him back on Lanoxin and diuretics. Is this heart failure where the prognosis is poor?
162069 tn?1224677411 ___________________________________________________________ If you took Digitek, Cardoxin, Lanoxin or Lanoxicaps and suffered from overdose, it could be due to taking defective tablets containing twice the active ingredient as approved.
Avatar f tn I am really sorry for all that you have and are going through. If I can be of any help (which would prob require you to find your way to chicago), pls let me know. Best wishes, Dr.
Avatar n tn I had two miscarriages in 1 year. Now im devastated. Will I can be a mother. I m crushed. Both pregnancies ended in 6-7 weeks.
Avatar f tn I was in a one-car accident on April 18. I was placed in an Aspen Collar (for about 3-months), dislocated a shoulder and broke three-ribs. I blacked out prior to the accident and have no memory of anything strange or any unusual feelings prior to blacking out. The original angiogram and x-rays also show degenerative disks C5,-C6 & C7. Could this be the problem.? The doctors tell me my injuries will heal themselves but we need to find out why I blackout out.
Avatar f tn My blood pressure is high 160/94 and doc prescribed an ACE inhib for me. How will this effect my PVC/PAC's? Help or hurt? Right now I take lanoxin .25 for PVCs. HBP runs in the family so I was doomed anyway.
Avatar f tn My cardiologist wants me to start on Lanoxin (.25mg). My blood pressure is pretty low so he thinks this would be the best med for me. He thinks maybe this will get me through the next few months and that maybe I can wean off of it after that. Ugh, I'm just frustrated that I need to start medicine since I had the ablation so I wouldn't have to take meds. Any insight would be appreciated! Thank you!
Avatar f tn In this condition there is irregular heartbeat which can lead to blood clots, stroke, heart attack etc. In this condition medications are used to decrease the heart arte like lanoxin, beta-blockers, and calcium channel blockers. Afib is slowing down may mean that your doctor is telling you about the progression of the disease or its improvement. It is best to clarify your concerns with a cradiologist.Keep me posted on how you are doing. Best luck and regards!
