can i take zyrtec with singulair

I take Zyrtec for my allergies and Singulair as needed. But Singulair is a script.

t have an appointmet with my doctor for two weeks. I had been taking singulair and zyrtec but I stopped until I can clear it with my doctor. Are these medicines safe and if not is there a safe one out there?

I went and seen a doctor about this and was told I have allergies, I was perscribed the generic for singulair for 10 days, and zyrtec for about 2 weeks to see if I got better. I opted to take the medicine at night (tonight)...and i can't sleep and my throat is so dry even after water. I really dis like medicine...I get anxious...what are some other options to feel better?... HELP!

Also, a 24 hour antihistamine, Allegra is the best then Zyrtec then Clariton, take any of the 3 that you can tolerate. Your T cells are probably out of wack, your immune system... my story may help...

I have never had this experience when taking Singular. Every body is different though and if you notice it everytime you take the drug, maybe discontinue and try something else like Zyrtec.

I take zyrtec, singulair, flonase and astepro for the allergies and sinus. My ENT is stumped. How can I get my taste and smell back?

t been sleeping well at night for the past 3 weeks because of the nasal congestion and have been waking up with a nasty dry mouth in the morning. I have tried benadryl, claritin 24 hrs tablets, zyrtec (also 24 hr tablet), nasal spray (some kind of anticholinergic solution), Singulair and phenylephrine so far. Benadryl doesn't really work for me anymore and claritin and zyrtec are effective for only half the day.

You can take zyrtec, i used it through three pregnancies, doc okayed it, kids are healthy.

I know this is a really old post but I started having the same symptoms on Zyrtec. My doctor then put me on Singulair and the pain and all the good stuff that comes along with it has started again. I just quit the Singulair this past Tuesday, I believe, and the "lingering pain down what feels like the whole urethral tube" has subsided a little. I thought I was going crazy. Also, stay out of the heat, bright light bulbs, cover your self with a light shirt and pants.... a hat but you do not need to get heated like sweating....

The last time I tried taking antihistamines I felt drugged. I have been enjoying the better relief with a nasal steroid I have been using twice a day, is this safe for long term use? I have tried all of the antihistamines around, none with a decongestant. Benadryl will put me to sleep and make me feel tired the next day, so I try not to use that unless it is a must.

I am using the same thing and I am using one respule per bottle and rinsing twice a day. I'm also on singulair, zyrtec, patanase, and a steroid nose inhaler. I wonder if I used more of the pulmicort if I could cut down on some of the other meds?? Is anyone else taking all of these meds??

You could try those things. Just remember though that it does take your body anywhere from 2-3 days to a couple of weeks to get used to a new medication. You have to give it time to work so you really shouldn't keep changing after a day or so unless you end up having an allergic reaction to it. A more at home remedy is to make sure your windows are closed, wipe down flat areas of dust...

My 5 yr old son has a chronic wet cough. It started in Sept. In November the pediatrian said he had a sinus infection. The next day he was throwing up and with fever. His office kept telling me to give it 72 hours. I ended going to urgent care. They did an xray and said he had pnemonia. That was 4 months ago. All the other symptoms have gone away but this cough. Doesn't cough at night anymore. It's not like he coughs all the time but when he does it's always wet sounding. No phlem.

I had surgery two years ago to remove tissue from my nose to enlarge my sinuses and it did help...but now I am back to square one. I take Zyrtec, Flonase and anything else to help, also have been on COUNTLESS antibiotics. I also have asthma and it is making it flare up. I use my inhalers and Singulair for that regularly. I have gotten very wheezy and short of breath at night. My sinus CT didnt really show any structural abnormalities. I honestly dont know what else to do.

I have the same illness. I recently discovered by accident that I have NO symptoms of PLE after taking 10mg of Singulair 2 hours before going into the sun. My allergiest prescribed Singulair for my season allergies not for PLE. But trust me it works! I have suffered with this for 20 years. Good luck!

t know right now I take both zyrtec and singulair in the evening. I think I will also try the Mucinex to see if that helps. I do get some relief from taking Tussionex cough syrup. Kind of strange but opiates tend to thin the mucus production and it seems to numb my throat where I don't feel the PND or whatever it might be.

My allergist - immunologist has attempted to block the leukotrienes, the things that get to the skin that causes the burning sensation with Singulair 4 xs a day with Zyflo CR, I can't take the Zyflo CR, because these meds effect some peoples emotions incl. me apparently.... but taking the higher dose of Singulair has brought some relief.... I'm not a doc but I've been to many trying to get mystery burning of the skin and rashes figured out incl.

I sound like I am drowning in my own fluids. I talke neb treatments, inhalers, stomache acid reducer, spariva, singulair and some. I feel I am loosing this battle. I have had severe asthma since age 4. I was too embarrassed to go to er last night. I had an attack lasting 3 hrs. I can barely breathe, my eyes are watering, my mouth is itchy and I wake up sneezing every night! Is it safe to take Claritin or Zyrtec? I will be 25 weeks on Tuesday.
