After the recommendations, who prescribes them? I think in the uk the drug companies influence the professors, who in turn try to influence Doctors. It was announced not long ago that it would be a huge benefit if kids took statins. I can't help but wonder what's next, maybe give your pets a statin a day? Personally I agree with some Doctors who say Statins haven't really been proven.

Thank you very much ! I was never put on thyroid meds after the TT and I believe it was a ear, nose and throat Dr that did my surgery back then. I didn't have a computer back then to explore my options like we do now. Thats for the advice! Im not gonna take the zocor. I've been dieting since Feb and lost 35 pounds so i think I can manage a cholesterol lowering diet plan. I just dont want to be over medicated. And I suspect my thyroid to be the problem with the hyertension.

Please follow the advice of your PCP and get all the blood tests done, take zocor regularly to keep your cholesterol levels under control. Hope this helps!

When I went to my diabetes appointment last week or a couple of weeks ago I was told that my bad cholestrol was perfect and my good cholestrol was low so the doctor suggested for me to take Fish Oil Omega 3 I used to take 80mg.

They additionally informed me that the arteries were all under 45% clogged after the October intervention, There were hematoma and femoral nerve palsy after the October episode as well, so they went through the wrist in December. Can an artery clog wthin two months?

I am a Male, 56yrs old and had an AVM operation in 1994, and I am on Epilium at 400mg twice daily, I also take Norvase 10mg 1 and Sol Aspirin 100mg in the morning and Tenormin 50mg, Lipanthyl 100mg and Zocor 20mg at night. I am now having this burning sensation on all my left finger tips all throuh out the day. I also notice I get a very strong Itch and Burning sensation on my Right sole only at night when I retire to bed.

My doctor has me on 30mg of Coreg (time release) that I take once in the morning. My fatigue has increased and my libido has dropped to zero. In an effort to increase my HDL, I take Niaspan & Zocor.....Recently my MD upped the Zocor from 5mgl. to 10mgl.... Last couple weeks, have had more trouble sleeping, usually waking up after a dream (not nightmares, but somewhat vivid dreams)...I've checked out few sites, & saw that statins can cause sleep problems....Have others here had sleep problems while taking a statin?........

I forgot to mention that when I was taking the Lescol, I had no PVCs. But I do now, and in my case I suspect Nexium. I began having acid reflux a few years ago, and have recently begun having PVCs. Just a suspicion at this point, though.

I currently take 150mg of Zocor per day. Recently i have developed a cough, which I can deal with but when I cough I get pain shooting though my head. It takes a few minutes to go away and then things are find. Should I be worried.

Thank you for your response. I am using Broomday once in the morning and Prednisolone 4 drops per day for the eye. I also take 1000 mg of slo niacin, 20 mg of zocor, 2400 mg fish oil, 2000 units of vitamin D, 2 baby aspirins and a multi vitamin. FYI my blood pressure has risen since the surgery. It was always in the normal range and now it has been 160/100, 140/100 and yesterday 1/9/12 it was 158/68. Have not had a fever and have a good appetite.

For two years I took Zocor for the purpose of lowering my Cholesterol. When I complained to my doctor about my body aching all over she suggested I discontinue using the Zocor for several weeks. Im being tested for hepatitis now. I do take zocor for high cholesterol. I also take effexor xr. Im overweight but not obese. I hate to reveal but i love food high in fat.(cheese freak) However, Im going to bring the study up to my doctor this week.

Augmentin can cause liver damage, as can tylenol (if you take more than the recommended 4,000 mg/day). I suppose that the risk would be increased with concurrent use of augmentin and tylenol. Usually, once you have stopped taking the medication, your enzymes could trend downwards to normal. Do you take any cardiac medications (ie. amiodorone, etc)?

My doctor told me benadryl is safe to take.

I would not worry but I would go for a second opinion and take those tests with you.

Robitussin. Only med for cough my doc said to take. Hope you feel better.
