Is it safe to take Levothyroxine at the same time as Pravastatin? Also, 2 months ago, I started to take my Levothyroxine at bedtime instead of in the morning as it is more convenient. and after a recent bloodtest my GP has reduced my Thyroxine to 75mcg instead of 100mcg. Could taking it at bedtime be the reason for this reduction? I will obviously ask my GP about this on my next visit to the surgery but would be grateful for any advice.
I am always reading on this matter . Just the other day I saw something very interesting . I take Pravastatin for high cholesterol. The article I read says that it is not uncommon for Levitra to have a much better result on those taking Lipitor . It may be worth me looking into changing having my cholesterol meds switched from Pravastatin to Lipitor .
About 8 weeks ago I started noticing a flutter or rapid heart rate when I woke. I haven't sleep well in several years so it has been common for me to rise around 3am with 4 to 5 hours sleep, and the time I have this rapid heart rate only occurs on waking. I do not feel any other symptoms. My blood pressure has generally been running around 120/75. sometime lower sometime higher. My diastolic is normally below 80 and rarely gets over 80.
in the last two weeks i have had three blood vessels just pop in my fingers. i was not doing anything out of the ordinary. what could be causing this? should there be a cause for concern?
As advised by you on this forum recently, I got in touch with Hepatitiestechnologies through my friend in USA(I live in Nigeria) and got the drugs(all 4 of them) I received it 3 days ago and I have started using it already, albeit started with a low dose of 1 per meal, morning and night daily and graduating to higher doses. Now, pls enlighten me on these drugs. My latest USS shows enlarged liver, but normal architecture and others.
I sure hope you are all having a nice Holiday. Welcome to the room those who are new. Thank you so much for finding us. I know you can do this!
However, I can tell you that if I take calcium supplements 2,000 mg daily - two 500 mg pills once in the evening and once in the morning per day that they are greatly reduced. I can always tell if I didn't take my calcium because I will start getting the charlie horses worse. I'm also on high blood pressure medication. There is one more thing I want to mention. After I started taking high blood pressure mediation, the charlie horses got worse. They started when I was a teenager.
Ronald Siegel, a psychopharmacologist at UCLA said 'The widespread testing and reliance on tell-tale traces of drugs in the urine is simply a panic reaction invoked because the normal techniques for controlling drug use haven't worked very well. The next epidemic will be testing abuse." Byrd Labs has in its possession an internal document from the Syva Company, makers of the widely used EMIT test.

Pravastatin (20mg) after a left-heart cath showed a 50% luminal loss in the distal part of the mid LAD (too small - 1 mm in size - for percutaneous intervention) and mild myocardial bridging in the second obtuse marginal branch of the left circumflex artery.
Anyway, after two hours my blood sugar was at 350 (that's the highest i've ever seen it) so I took 2 more of my metformin. In the morning I woke up with abdominal pain and diarrhea. I ate a 1/2 of a oatmeal cook and after a few seconds I had to go to the restroom. As I was using the restroom I notice 3 yellowish oval shaped stool, I went ahead a examined it. When I sliced it the middle I saw it was white inside and the texture of the yellowish oval shaped stool was almost fatty, liver like.
You have too powerful a mix for most of us to relate to, but I can say high dose (the number is patient dependent) of Metoprolol (any beta blocker) can cause some of the side effect you describe. I have taken up to 200 mg of Metoprolol a day and that level gives me some dizzy spells upon a sudden change in my activity level, and it also causes some general fatigue in me.
5mg. Can I take Tramadol tonight in place of my 2nd Vicodin dose or should I not take both the same day, no matter how many hours are between-? Thanks in advance!
Do they have you on anticoagulants or an aspirin a day to reduce the risk of clotting in your body since you are in that risk group? I think personally i would find a new doctor if they told me that they haven't a clue and find one that does have a clue. Sometimes we have to really get proactive with our bodies because we only have one and have to search out the right doc that can make enough time for us to find the cause and not just shrug their shoulders.

It is now April 1st of 2010, I still have a headache. At this time I was on Pravastatin for Cholesterol, I have been on this for about 2 years. I have been on Zoloft 100 mg for 15 yrs. I thought it was nothing didn't take anything thought it would go away, WRONG!. I have had migraines for probably 20 years. This is not a migraine. I have taken Tylenol, didn't work, took Advil, didn't work, took Ibuprofin, didn't work, so I went to the doctor.
Last year I had to be rushed to ER after taking anti inflammatory for fibro, my BP tanked went down to 70/40 As well, as broke out in hives. Suladanc (sp?) I believe was the name of the anti inflam med. While taking a cholesterol medication several years ago, my muscles became so extremely sore, I thought I was dying. I'm currently taking; Pravastatin 80 mg 1x per day and Cilostazol 100 mg 2x per day.

I have been reading post and searching the net and found several sites that talk about some of the meds that I take. Some of the side effects of them are heart palps. I go to the doc Thursday so I might should ask. I can't understand if that is a side effect why he would put me on it. He is a good doc and tries to help me with my issues as much as he can. I TRUST HIM!!!! I take 200mgs of Metropolol, 6mg of Xanax, and 40 mgs of Pravastatin. Someone mentioned a calcium blocker.
I take 50mg Atenolol in the morning, and 25mg at night. Anyway, I also had a swallowing induced component to my arrhythmia, and had read that several people worked past this problem by losing weight. But how, with a slow heart beat? Diet. Not some ludicrous fad Diet, just a significant reduction in the volume of food that I ate.
The scariest symptom is a slight burning sensation in the left side of my face. I decide to keep taking the drug, and most of the symptoms go away. However, so does the numbness in my toe after about 3 days. So, I guess the medicine is working? But…that quickly? Is it really reducing my cholesterol within 3 days, to the point where my toe no longer feels numb from HIGH CHOLESTEROL? Hmmm, well I’m no doctor, so I don’t really get it.
I go in and out of afib and have never had a rapid heart, just shortness of breath that keeps me from running while I'm in afib. I am 71 but my heart is in great shape except for the afib. I was in afib for about six weeks straight this spring (the first time I noticed it) and then went in and out on about a weekly basis in July and August. Stayed in about a week at a time, then back out for about a week.
Funny, because I held off taking statins prior to treatment because I thought I'd have a better chance with a liver that was taxed less, as statins can tax the liver somewhat. If I knew about the study then, I would have taken statins prior to treatment, both for my original intent -- lower cholesterol -- as well as the potential to make tx more effective. Currently I'm on a statin (lipitor) and it has dramatically lowered my cholesterol levels.
Ask doctor to change the medicine. I got a lot of cramps, screamed in the middle of the sleep. Unable to straight up my legs next morning. That was Simvastatin caused it. After that, the dr change to Fluvastatin. No cramp but developed rashes! Now, I don't have to take any statin.
But it seems to be having a positive effect, if I understand correctly. I can see that I have a lot of holes in my English vocabulary. It would be really nice, if you could help me out.
5 mcg twice a day. Then after a few days take 5 mcg in the morning and 5 mcg in the afternoon. Otherwise some people can fell ill with side effects of just jump starting your body. Just my opinion. Others may have a different opinion.
Acebutalol (sectral) 100mg (half of the prescribed dosage), seems to be breaking the multiple pvc patterns I've developed. If I take the other half later in the day, it seems to reduce the pvc frequency, and actually I've had some pvc free minutes today.!!!!!! Jump for joy. Hoo-ra. I'll take any minute I can get without pvcs. Plus, I don't feel as fatigued on acebutalol as I did on the other beta-blockers. (that was my main reason for taking the half dose, plus I'm stubborn).
That is good they are doing to do a culture and it all sounds good. I hope during the guided surgery they can do the culture of the fungus in the chest. Maybe you can ask that question.
From next day on I'll take the riba in the morning and afternoon. And I think I will be taking the shots early afternoon in the future. I don't take any fiber supplements not antacids.... so that is already a good point. I will take the riba with a piece of nice Danish ryebread, the kind which is more fatty with sunflowerseeds and a chunk of good raw milk cheese, a tablespoonful of coconut oil and my krill oil gelules. that should be enough fat, don't you think?
