Avatar f tn but after reading the label one bottle has dha, epa and omega 3 fatty acids, while the other bottle has all the other stuff like vitamins c, d e, folic acid, iron, copper etc. does this mean take both pills each day? have you seen this before? can you overdose?
Avatar m tn Is it ok to take Omega 3 Fish Oil with an SSRI medication? I have read some places that the Fish Oil can help the effectiveness of the medication as well as help in other areas such as cardiovascular, cancer prevention, etc. Has anybody tried this? Does it work or is it all just here say? I have also read where it increased some peoples anxiety. Just wondering...
Avatar f tn I for one experience an increase in my PVC and PAC episodes after I take omega 3. Ever since I only obtain omega 3 from the fish i eat on a bi-weekly basis - i don't take the capsules anymore.
Avatar f tn I compared them and decided to do two regular multi vitamins and the omega 3 vitamins for the dha. I couldn't do the horse pills.
Avatar f tn This time around O I took a baby aspirin for a few days instead of the Omega 3 since Omega 3 is also an anti-inflamatory. Then after a few days after O, I started taking Omega 3 again with my pre-natal vitamins. I still do.
Avatar f tn I waited for the dr to perscribe me my prenatel pills. other than that I took the gummy vitamins.
599170 tn?1300973893 I was put on potassium pills because of my heart and that was the only thing low when I had a minor heartattack. I have noticed that when I take the potassium pills I am more energetic all day long. If I try to take a multivitimin then it makes me sick or makes my heart race. I wish I could find one that I could take.
Avatar f tn What brand of Omega 3's are you using? I have been taking just the Kroger brand Omega 3's with fish oil concentrate. Should I maybe look at the health food store for some that are especially for pregnancy? Thanks!
Avatar f tn So i visited a friend today and she looked at my prenatal vitamins that i had with me and was surprised they didn't have dha in them. She gave me some dha vitamins and recommended that i take them and continue to do so. My dr didn't mention dha. Am i alone in this?
688450 tn?1259468734 i think they are really still researching all of that.. i know i take 300mg of DHA with my prenatal (its vegetable/plant derived i believe). I know taking too much can caue the blood to thin, but that was a good thing in my case ( we found i had a blood clotting disorder). and as pamela said.. it does apparnetly help with brain development! I would also ask your dr..
1655526 tn?1330655629 I remember hearing fish oil was good for irregular heart beats. Then I heard it can cause irregular heart beats, so I don't take it. I have bought the krill oil before but after hearing that I didn't take them. I'm not a big fish eater, but I do eat it once in a while, probably is better to get the omega 3 that way and not to over do it.
871965 tn?1241833146 Everything the other ladies has told you is great!! I would also add that I have been reading a lot about omega 3 fish oils. Very good for the developing brain, and we shouldn't eat to much real fish due to mercury content. Good luck to you!!
256553 tn?1258883918 Hi. My husband and I each take a Womens/Mens one-a-day, an extra vitamin C & Fish Oil (Omega 3). I also take an extra Folic Acid, a baby aspirin & a vitamin B-6. I just started the baby aspirin this cycle. We've been really good about taking our pills with dinner. Aside from ttc, it's a good way to stay healthy ! :) Good luck !!!
Avatar n tn I haven't heard anything about fish pills. In my pregnancy journal book it lists a million vitamins to take and they're all in my prenatal vitamin. The only thing that is low in the prenatal is calcium. So, I take my prenatal, calcium, and vitamin C. Hope that helps!
541150 tn?1306033843 I use to take fish oil tablets before getting pregnant, but my doctor said I should stop due to the high amount of vitamin A in the straight fish oil tablets. She said I could take the Omega 3 vitamins included in my one-a-day vitamin, because they are specifically formulated for pregnant women.
1352892 tn?1338217905 ll look at the bottle when I get home. I threw up all the other kinds of vitamins, especially omega-3 supplements. Even now with these vitamins I find it best to take them in the middle of lunch, because I can't handle the nausea at any other time of day. How far along are you? Are you keeping down the vitamins?
Avatar f tn The prenatals make a lot of women very sick and nauseas, if your unable to take them without getting sick you can switch over to a different vitamin like womens one a day i think is what a lot of the moms take and the chewable vitamins, i take childrens Flintstone vitamins.
1444453 tn?1287103137 Hi Kim ;) Thanks for the advice - yeah, I thought I should be taking more of the 5HTP - I read somewhere on here 100mg three times per day - does that sound too much? Also, yes I trust your judgement on this - is it safe to take St. John's Wort along with the 5HTP? Aren't they both for depression? I don't take any other meds so I'm not worried about the herbs mixing with other meds.
Avatar f tn Two Flintstones vitamins equal the same stuff as most prenatals so that might help you. I always take mine after I eat or I throw them up, and that was true of any vitamin I took before I was pregnant.
Avatar f tn ve heard people also swear by omega 3 for schizophrenia along with some other stuff like vitamin B12 which a deficiency of I read can cause a form of anemia which actually produces schizophrenia or at least an uncanny similar presentation to it but I've never tried either of these partly because I had blood tests for a physical and everything in my blood was normal so I figured the B12 theory was out the window for me at least much to my dismay.
Avatar f tn I love my nature made liquid gels with dha and omega-3. Very easy to swallow and no nausea problems very important fir me as solid vitamins make me puke regardless if I've eaten. When I start breastfeeding I may switch to similac liquid gels these particular ones require two pills a day the vitamin abd a mineral supplement. Not sure though need to do more research on these brute I decide also will cost about 20$ more per 90 days.
Avatar f tn I voted 5-10 but I don't take meds specifically prescribed for fibro. They are for the stuff that goes along with it.... singulair, xyzal, omnaris (chemical sensitivities and regular allergies) synthroid topamax (migraines) wellbutrin After being seriously overmedicated for 4 years before my dx....I'm also very careful about what meds I take and how they interact. I didn't have any luck with flexeril, amitriptyline or cymbalta. I took vioxx for years and felt great on it....
