I took one dose and had an attack the next morning at work when I seemed to not be able to handle several people talking at once. I was in a clowdy daze the rest of the day. I stopped taking it but was anxious for another 3 or 4 days. I have gone back on what I had left of the Lipitor and have had no problems.
My doctor is perplexed. He has never heard of anxiety being a side affect of statins. Is this common? Is there any other statin close in chemical make up to Lipitor that I can take?
I drink socially and take liptor and was wondering in that I only drink in the evenings if it's better to take the lipitor in the morning in order for the liver to metabolize the alcohol at night. Or is the liver simply distributed evenly over a 24 hour period making the time you take it with alcohol irrelevant.
Does drinking 1.5 - 2.0 oz of scotch or bourbon within an hour or two of taking 20 mg of Lipitor create an elevated risk of Liver or Kidney dysfunction?
I did and he said it was not good and requested me to do an Angiogram on the following morning. I did and it was finishied within 15 mins. Almost 2 hours later I was told to go home. My cardiologist said I have a blockage on a small branch and just a very mild deasease on the arteries. I was given permision to return to Australia.
They did not give me any medication. I have been taking Lipitor for a long time but my lipids always good.
I've been on Clonanzipam for 4years now and am up to 4mgs. a night. I'm scared of getting addicted, but can't sleep without it. Is there any danger of taking over the counter sleeping pills now and then so that I'm not taking Clonazipam every night. I've gone to bed when really tired without anything and no side affects what so ever.
I take 40mg Lipitor. I was getting it thru a source that gave me 80mg to split. This was a BIG pill, and when split often felt pretty rough going down. I can imagine that some (wimps) would feel threatened by this. (Or, indeed MIGHT actually get in trouble with it.)
I now get 40mg tab, and they are easier to swallow. But I vote for: $They get more for 90 40mg than for 45 80mg$.
I assume you are taking 20mg in the morning and 20mg in the evening? This is really pointless. Lipitor is well known to work while you are sleeping, because the Liver makes most cholesterol at this time. Other statin brands can be taken at any time, probably because they sit in the blood for longer or something, but Lipitor strictly instruct you to take in the evening.
I was on cardicor for two years and I totally sympathise with your symptoms, mine were identical. I also had no energy and couldn't be bothered to do anything, it was a real effort to go for a walk. When I eventually came off this medication it caused great discomfort. I was on 1.25mg a day too, but this is a powerful beta blocker. I had increased chest pains and my breathing felt too heavy, making me panic. I had to go back on them and be weened off. I was put on 1.

I had been taking my beta blocker in the morning. So instead of taking another beta blocker in the morning I waited and took it in the evening. I am on once daily dosing. Since then I have taken it in the evening. Should switching from morning to evening dosing effect anything? I have noticed in the evening now before time for my pill, my heart seems to be beating faster, checked tonight and it was 87. Know that isn't tachy but I'm used to it being in the 70s.
Reason I ask is that I have been taking Lipitor since November H.A. and Stent, 10 mgs at first and now 5 mg at night, just before bed time, and since i started taking them, on the 10 mg dosage i had deep lovely surrealistic dreams about all kinds of things, like a movie in my brain every night, fell joyful and happy upon waking, and now with the 5 mg dosage, breaking pills in half as per doctor's orders, I still have very vivid dreaming all night long. I love it.
I was then given Crestor. I had an episode the next morning at work when I freaked out over several people speaking at one time. I was "in a cloud" the rest of the day. This happened after only taking one dose. I fortunately had my trusty Xanax nearby so I was able to make it through these two attacks.

I have been taking Lipitor for the last 10 years and lately I have developed muscle pains. I was told the pain might be because of the Lipitor. I stopped taking them for a couple of months, the pain was much less however my cloestrol level was back to 290.

The good news is that the high HDL has a protective effect against plaque build up in your arteries (atherosclerosis) I don't know what your reaction to Lipitor was, but given the facr that you have had blockage of your coronaries in the past you should take a "statin" like lipitor if you can tolerate it. Talk to your doctor to see if this is an option.
Synthroid is 125 (micro-mg) 1 tablet a day. I take my Synthroid early in the morning and metmorphin after meals and lipitor in the night. It looks like for the last 3-4 months my weight has come to 55kg. I think last year my weight was 59kg. So what could be the reason for my weight loss? I walk everyday, my diet is good and healthy, my times for eating meals are very much on time, I am a strict vegetarian, milk, once a week tofu are the main sources of protiens.
I have been (off and on) waking up in the middle of the night thinking I was supposed to do something or take a medication or something. Sometimes I even get up and wander in another room thinking I can solve the problem and then end up going back to bed, knowing nothing was forgotten. This happens maybe 3 times a month. Only med I am on is Lipitor and have been for years. I wake my husband up when this happens. Any ideas?
