Can i take ibuprofen and xanax

Common Questions and Answers about Can i take ibuprofen and xanax

ibuprofen

I am tapering off the xanax. 1 today and 1/2 tom as previously mentioned. should I wait before trying melatonin to help for sleep. Also for this with experience with thomas nethod should some of the pills be better taken at night for sleep? I am currently taken 1000mg L-Tyrosine & B6 with water in the morning About an hour later I take Mulri vitamin, vitamin C, etc. And right now my breakfast is a banana (not a huge appetite but getting better).
Just when I think I'm out of the woods something else comes along and knocks me down. THe body aches and pain are pretty bad along with the abdominal cramps is more than I can stand. I do see a pain mgmt doctor who is kind enough to understand what I am going through and is giving me pain meds. I'm not able to take Ibuprofen or Asprin as I am allergic to both items. Yes..I'm addicted to the pain meds but I NEVER take more than prescribed and my script never runs out ahead of time.
I've read all about the bad addictive qualities of xanax, so I'm fearful, but it works. Should I just go ahead and take a xanax daily for the indefinite future? Am I giving myself a future problem? My neurologist muttered something about trial and error; I think he was referring to treatment for chronic daily headache, but he never explains anything or how to take a given drug. Any advice?
My guess is that it was a hefty amount of both. I take Xanax and what I can say for sure is that the longer you take it the more you need. Not only that, but I think Xanax actually makes the anxiety worse when it wears off. Xanax is both the best and worst drug I have ever taken.
Insomnia is still a problem and when I do get out of bed my body hurts all over. I'm allergic to ibuprofen and NOT supposed to take any kind of asprin but I do take asprin along with a Norco when I wake up. As I mentioned earlier...I'm also tapering from eight 10/350 Norcos a day and currently I've been able to hold at 3 tabs a day for 5 days. Today I'm going to do 2.5 tabs as I only have 20 tabs remaining.
as far as the sedated feeling, when Iwas at the stage you are at I was thankful to get any sedation I could. I couldn't take clonodine due to low blood pressure, but I did have some xanax which i used very sparingly throughout, but sedation from clonodine would have been great. In any case, stick with it, and when you can't eat, drink ensure. You can do it!
It's not so bad, with the right meds/knowledge/support. When I feel like I can't take it anymore, I just tell myself I deserve it and I shouldn't have gotten addictted again because I knew better. In rehab they told us it is a disease, which I believe, but at the same time it gave me the feeling of "well if it's a disease then I can't help, it's not my fault" then people end up going right back to their drug of choice and Bradford gets rich.
I have quit before and have been thru the withdrawls. I know I can do it again I just need some support. None of my family and friends understand what its like. I just need some positive words and maybe some advice from someone who has been where I've been, as far as how many vicodin and other things I'm taking. I know I'm numb and its not true happiness. I know I'm probably on the verge of losing my life.
Then i figured out how many milligrams of tyelnol i was taking and realized i was killingmyself! Getting through your day, yes you can. I did i had to drive and go to work and be normal, but i was SOOOOOO mentally determined to do it that i just forced myself to plow through the day, but see i'm a VERY determined and VERY stubborn person and i used that to my advantage, so it can totally be done.
I was on xanax for 1.5 years and antidepressants on and off during that time. I am now off all drugs for 5 weeks. My body is so sensitive to all meds now. Like over the counter aspirin or ibuprofen or even taking kids vitamins. Does anyone else have problems since they came off their medicines?
I believe taking that high dose made me biolar at age 34. I only take btwn 10-30 mg now and only for a few days in a row. I really am convinced that it made me bipolar. Prior to using dexedrine-i only had add. My friends and family cant believe how differnt and weird I have become. I started tking itin the begining of 2001. and with in 9 months I became a raving lunatic-rapicd cycling moods. I also had a major manic attack that lasted over a year, I have had several manic attacks since.
about the only one that works (I have tried them all) and I take Xanax as well..and pain meds too...and I even have meds for tension headaches....but those don't seem to put the "fire" out! My job...sitting at a computer 8+ hours a day is probably one of the main causes of my pain...I have an orthopedic chair with the lumbar cutout and I even use my pilates ball as a chair...but nothing seems to work!!!
Since then, I have always had lumbar pain on the right side and continue to this day to take ibuprofen, 600 mg BID. I have several health problems; bipolar 2 disorder, obesity, hypertension, fibromyalgia, and chronic Lofgren's Syndrome (erythema nodosum and polyarthraligia on and off for the last 10+ yrs). I frequently complained of back pain to my primary care physician, and was advised to lose weight to aleviate pain and try to get off the advil.
I really don't want my wife or kids to see me going through withdrawels. Also, I have a prescription for Xanax. I used to take about 4-5 per day of those but since I got the lortabs, I seemed to ween myself off of the Xanax, down to 1/4 of one per day. Maybe every other day. Does anyone have any home remidies or anything proven to work for my situation? God Bless! Keep my in your prayers!
I don't have a prescription so its what ever hydro's i can get i take about 5 to 6 a day. And i stared my addiction 4 years ago when i started to have bad back pain. All you can do is ask. In August I had a miscarriage and I had no insurance at all and I still had to get blood drawn repeatedly, and go in for an appointment with my doctor. He was good enough to discount everything for me. The doctors appt only cost me $80 and then all the blood draws I needed everyday for a week were only $40. That's why its important to build a really good relationship with your doctor. Good Luck, and congratulations!!
In another comment I have posted an extensive list of ototoxic medications and the side effects...
i cant go through what i went through. . . .
I don't want to say I am addicted to the xanax, because I certainley don't take it every day, and don't need it for every hour of my life, but I will take it if I feel bad, and it helps. And I have read many message board topics on it, and I haven't read anything wrong with taking it as necessary, as long as it does not become addictive. I am not suggesting it is the answer, but I think the worse I feel, the more doctors tell me I am fine... the more anxiety I get....It's a viscous circle.
Thank you for your reply. However, we have tried everything that you have suggested already. It will be 3 yrs in June that he has had this. They ruled out positional vertigo and labyrinthitis. We have seen 3 ENTs and had 2 sleep studies done (which is how he ended up on the CPAP). He cannot take any sort of sleep medication, anti-anxiety meds or pretty much any medication at all. His nervous system is extremely sensitive. The most recent diagnosis is some sort of dysautonomia.
For me, the peak was late day 2 - day 3, then it plateued till the end of day 4 before it started really easing up. Each day I feel noticeably better. And I can sleep now too! Although I still toss and turn and wake up fairly frequently, I can still get some sleep in rather than days 1-4 where I could not sleep at all. Now im at the point to where ibuprofen is helping with my leg aches (when normally anything weaker than hydrocodone wouldnt have any effect on me) ive noticed.
i have tried taking sleeping tablets but to no avail but sheer will power and determination will pull me thru i have done this mostly alone and sympathy for my own affliction is not wat im looking for i just want others to know it can be done and it does take time just stick with it ,all the pain is normal due to ur body forcing it out and try not to think too much much coz the last thing u need is regrets and for watever reason u have been on methadone for really does not matter now wats done
It's really tough to be motivated during the 1st few days of the WDs and it's really tough when the weather isn't cooperating but I would suggests keep moving around in your house as much as possible and try to keep your mind as busy as possible with a good book, movies or this forum... Remember to stay hydrated and take as many hot showers and baths as needed to calm down the restlessness... Take the symptoms as they come and most importantly keep focused and determined..
Is the Ultram for pain? If so, can you take something else like Ibuprofen or something like that? Good luck!
but in my personal experience, thats all that vicodin does, too. vicodin makes me violently ill and i found that ibuprofen, tylenol and asprin all worked better than the vicodin...but i talked to my doc first, which is what you should do.
Mainly my question is, is it possible this is a visula migraine or can can constant stress and anxeity explain all these symptoms? If so, what should I do? I have tried a number of anxiety reducers and stayed away from stress triggers for a few weeks now. I appreciate any help, Thanks.
