Can i take flexeril with naproxen

Common Questions and Answers about Can i take flexeril with naproxen

flexeril

When I have to do laundry or leave the apartment, the pain gets worse, to the point I can only take small steps and hurts to sit up and lay on my back when I get home. I have to lay on my right side. One day I was walking to the store, I made it two blocks and had the sharpest pain in my mid back where I had to stop on the side walk. I couldn't take a step forward or backward. I had pain medication in my purse, took that and called a cab to take me back home the two blocks.
its a horrible thing to have..i can totally sympathise with your symptoms as i suffer terribly with pain from this myself..i am taking naproxen dihydracodine paracetamol and amitrytiline on a nite....i find that nothing really helps when the pain wants to flare up...my sleeping patton is all over the place...i get lots of neck pain causing headaches too..i find putting a hot water bottle round my neck helps alittle..the doc told me that keeping mobile is the key to coping with this condition...
this may not be my case BUT its possible it just could be and like I said earlier I want to be armed with all the knowledge I can b4 seeing this pain specialist again, so thank you also, I will do alot of reading on the website you have mentioned.
I am a 20 year old female. I recently was diagnosed with undifferentiated seronegative arthritis. I have strong pain that has been increasing in many areas - sacroiliac joints, shoulders, wrists, fingers, elbow, neck, back, ankles, knees, and feet. Inflammation showed up in the blood tests, and my body lit up in many areas in the bone scan. X rays also showed damage to several joints.
I have pain on my neck with tension headaches that comes a goes. I can feel great one day and next day I'm in so much pain that I can't put my head or neck on the pillow. In order to be pain free I must have a very sedentary life. As soon I star working out or i have a busy day the pain comes back. I'm a very active person who likes to go to the gym and exercise. During the past few months I have change completly my lifestyle in order to avoid pain.
I am no longer in my pain clinic, been on Methadone for over 5 years. Thank God I was only taking 30 mg daily. In the past two days I have cut my dose to 15 mg per day. I feel the pain already in my legs and back. I did take some Neurotin to help with the nerve pain, and believe me it is helping. I am worried about this post withdrawal you talk about. I have a full time job and don't know how I'm going to do it with no sleep and energy crash.
because no one wants to deal with the issues I have with the chronic pain. I am even considering killing the nerve in my shoulder and arm just for some kind of relief. That would mean I would lose all use of my left arm. It has been very hard to continue working but I am determined not to give up. I am currently on 7.5 Lortabs and depression meds but most days that doesn't even touch it,so I'm trying accupuncture now with the meds.
I would say that the pain is likely nowhere near as bad as some of you experience, but with such a long lasting injury I can really sympathize with the members here. At this point, I take 500 mg aspirin or Tylenol or Aleve three to four nights a week, in order to sleep. This is a big improvement over the early years, when nothing helped. Or should I say, when the doctors didn't seem to know what to do for me.
Most of all I am blessed to have MedHelp's PM Forum and now the Chronic Pain Couch Group where I can commensurate with others that suffer with chronic pain. Though I was not happy to find that there are others that experience horrific chronic pain, it was a relif to know that others felt as I do. When I first joined MH's PM Forum I would read a post and make sure my name wasn't on the bottom of it. I'd think, "I know what they are talking about."....or...
The pain would cause muscles in my legs to spasm. Lovely. Just lovely. So he prescribed Naproxen and Flexeril. I have opted not to take the naproxen for now, and the flexeril is just once at night. If nothing else it helps me sleep. Thankfully, I have an appointment with the Urologist for a pelvic and renal ultrasound next week, if there is any problems with my kidneys I should find out then. Another problem is severe anxiety about one thing I used to LOVE....thunder storms.
Now that I have said all that, I have heard that with you have your gallbladder removed, sometimes they can leave a bile duct, and that that can create stones and I can still pass stones even with just that one or two ducts. I don't know. My dr is a croc. She won't send me to a GI. She just writes it off as something else. I don't know where to turn. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks a bunch!
I am also taking Darvocet as needed, zanaflex during the day, flexeril at night and I take naproxen too. I won't even list the rest of the meds because the list is LONG. Thank goodness for pill organizers!
This is basically when your mind tricks your body into thinking you are in a lot more pain than you actually are just so you will take more and more pills. I can tell you that this is a very real condition. I have been off of them for a little over 3 months and I have less pain now than when I was taking the Vicodin. The more time that you put between you and the opiates, the less pain you will have. I'm not saying that you will never have pain. Like I said I hurt every single day.
I used to be a Pharmacy Tech so I know the combination of all these drugs can be (or is) dangerous and initially (while on Tramadol) he didn't use the Percocet but I found out he was using the Flexeril with the Tramadol. He tried only 1 Naproxen and it made him sick so he said "No Way". But now he's using Percocet (supposedly alone) but I've found a few Flexeril missing from his bottles.
Well, glad to hear that the flexeril isn't the thing giving you the cluster headaches (as we all know, it's not beyond the realm of possibility that a drug can eventually start giving us the very painful symptoms we're trying to take away!) I have a very dear friend and neighbor who has severe neck problems and jaw problems. She used to take flexeril (and still does, I think).....but more recently, in the last few months or so, has taken Mobic. Seems to help her pretty well.
He just wants to take naproxen and flexeril. I know that tomorrow he will probably feel worse and I don't know if I should let him take his dose of Sub or not? Any info would be much appreciated.
LOL, if you're feeling that way, I think you need a new "family" too. I can vouch for Darvocet and Flexeril only making me sleepy and slow. If I need a muscle relaxer during the day when I am working, I take Zanaflex instead of Flexeril. When i was first diagnosed, they started me on Naproxen, Plaquenil, Omniprozole, darvocet and Flexeril.
On the phone they asked what I was taking and I rambled off some of them like flexeril and motrin and they interrupted me. They ask if I was taking any anti-depressants. But they never said what they were looking for specifically. They aren't discriminating. They asked for a list of prescriptions from my doctor so they can approve my test.
I didnt know if it would have bad reactions to my xanax whichj i only take when needed. Or my flexeril which i take 3 times a day. I started taking that about 3 days ago and i thought yesterday i was feeling a little better, but today I still have alot neck preasure and weakness in neck and stiffness. Its getting hard to tell the difference of weakness and preasure. Do you think it will be safe to take my prednisone with the flexeril and xanax.
MRI's show areas of spinal stenosis, worse in the neck, and some degeneration of the SI joints. I had a heart attack and cannot currently take any NSAIDS. I am living on Vicadin, and flexeril. Stomach was ruined years ago by arthritis drugs and now have stomach ulcers. So I am fighting pain daily, from the time I get out of bed. I have been told it is psoriatic arthritis, and I have been told it is FIbromyalgia, depending on which quack you talk to.
Even the neck pain, went from 2 episodes a week to about 1 a month now. Sometimes I take naproxen as well. I have been taking Ambien when I am at the point of crying my eyes out and unable to deal with it. This has been going on for years. A normal for me is taking two. Wake up still in pain, two more. Last time this happened to me, that would not work. I was in the position that I needed the ER but with the snow that hit, I couldn't go.
soma, flexeril, naproxen, ibuprofen, elmiron, zyrtec, sudafed. I do smoke and have for 22 years.
Good Morning Tramadol Warriors! Welcome to thread 32! Please make yourself at home. It can be a bumpy ride!
Remember advil, motrin, tylenol, they are all just different brand names of the exact same drug. If I run out od naproxen a take a few aleve to equal 500 or 1,000mg naproxen. Opiates with tylenol (vicodin, lortab, etc) do not have any anti-inflammatory properties. The opiates work to block pain impulses in the spinal cord and brain and tylenol has no anti-inflammatory properties either like motrin and other NSAID's do. Muscle relaxants like flexeril might help also.
I just finished another round of physical therapy where I met all of my goals so I was discharged, but I my left leg still constantly aches. I have tried Ibuprofen and Naproxen and Flexeril (in case is was spasm related) but they don't seem to work. If only I had a live-in massage therapist. The pain runs up the ourside of my leg. It is most intense in my lower leg. Ankle and thigh. My doctor won't prescribe anything.
I have had extensive work ups from various specialists (I had to travel to Seattle to them since I live in Alaska) who come up with little in the way of concrete answers. I have some sicca symptoms. I am positive for anit-alpha fodrdrin IgA. My labs showed deficiencies in Vitamin B2, B12, D, Iron and Ferritin. Rheumatologist started me on 400 mg Plaqenil in Oct 2010.
) Well, I called the doc and he said I can't take any of the naproxen and that I can take a 5mg hydrocodone!! I am torn here. I really don't want to take it, I do not want to go through all of this again! I asked him if all my W/D's would start over and he said probably not but that is not very reassuring. Tried tylenol, that doesn't work :( What should I do??? Do you think I would go through the W/D again??? I just want to be able to move around today.
I used to take flexeril but it stopped working for me and I was always able to stop c/t without any problems. I currently take 800mg 3xday of Skelaxin and there are no dependence issues at all, so I think you would be fairly safe not relapsing. I have read posts on here regarding soma which is a muscle relaxer and apparently it is addicting. You can also take upto 800mgs of IBprofen 3xday which really helps with muscle and joint pain.
Can you please give me a List of meds I can bring up to my doc that is safe to take with my liver. PLEASE HELP I am in alot of pain. I have also been dealing with kidney stones for 2 months and The pain is unbareable! PLEASE HELP! Thank u!
I have to wait for my husband to get home to take a shower and I hate being dependant. I was on Flexeril for 9 months to no avail. It helped at first but then I still kept hurting myself because I was so doped up on it and sleep walked and bent (ouch). I have pain near the SI joint but I have pain or very tight muscle going down the back of my leg too. It isn't on the side then the back and doesn;t feel like a nerve pain. They think it is myofascial pain.
