Flexeril and soma are both muscle relaxers....doesn't seem as if teking both each day would be of any benefit...flexeril is the safer of the two as far as addiction....there are some warnings posted as far as anti-depressents and some of the aminos...I was on lexapro (anti-depressent) during detox...nuerontin, I also take flexeril rarely but it can help you sleep..I followed the recipe without difficulty...
Im scared to take anything during pregnancy, but i will take flexeril on nights that my husnand is working. Sometimes i cant get up to use the bathroom at night, because i cant walk. So i will take it once every couple of weeks when he has a night shift and i really need it. I am not totally positive on this, but i beleive its a category B pregnancy drug. Dont quote me on that though!

a rheumatologist he put me on Cymbalta 30mg for 10 days then 60mg after that. When I had the Rx filled my Pharmacist said I could not take the Flexeril and Lexapro with the Cymbalta as it can cause some kind of syndrome that can be fatal. So I stopped both. A week later I saw my Pain Management/Orthopedic Surgeon and they said they were taking me off Percocet. I thought ok I don't want to be on all these drugs anymore so ok. BAD BAD BAD decision.
I cut that back to 100 mg per day. I also began to take Flexeril (which I already had on hand for muscle tightness in my upper back from computer use. I took two 10mg doses, one in the afternoon and one at bedtime. This seemed to relieve the twitching considerably, and I finally got a good night's sleep. I believe that the most important factor is the too-large dose of sertraline. Cutting back to 100mg has not seemed to increase depression or anxiety.

I did not take Prozac, however I have been on Zoloft with minimal side effects. I noticed that most of them went away with time, but I do think they can numb your feelings a little bit, however, for me, the benefits clearly outweighed the costs. What does your husband think? I talked it over with my wife and she believes that it helps way more than it hurts the relationship :)....
my muscles are so tight and knotted that it can leave me in tears (20 year old male). i have been taking flexeril for a year, and i have only used two bottles (60 10mg tablets) however, when i took one two nights ago, i began to shake and get very cold. following that immediately was immense pain in my chest, and extreme pressure going against my breathing. it was all night long until i could breath normally, i was so light headed from panting that it made me nauseous.
I had one panic attack that scared me half to death because i thought i was dying. I spend the next two days thinking i was going to die of a heart attack. After two days of being paranoid i went to the emergency room and told the doctor what had happened. I was fine and sent home later that day. The constant worry for those two days had sent me into a state of depersonalization/derealization. Now it seems most of my anxiety is cause by the constant feeling unreal.
I voted 5-10 but I don't take meds specifically prescribed for fibro. They are for the stuff that goes along with it....

After being seriously overmedicated for 4 years before my dx....I'm also very careful about what meds I take and how they interact. I didn't have any luck with flexeril, amitriptyline or cymbalta. I took vioxx for years and felt great on it....
Now, I will obviously give it some time since these could just be the withdrawal symptoms of the Lexapro but I of course I am wondering if the Lexapro was helping me and not just making me feel dead in the head. It is so hard to tell what works with these drugs and it is very frustrating. So, anybody out there that is just on a benzo and doing well? Thanks.
