Can i take diclofenac and codeine

Common Questions and Answers about Can i take diclofenac and codeine

I am convinced that these are the symptoms of codeine/hydrocodone withdrawal. WHAT do I do about this? I can't STAND it!!! I have three children to take care of (two of them are babies). I can't take care of myself now because I am "sick" so to speak. I have been completely honest with my husband about this. He agrees that this is probably withdrawal, I need to do "cold turkey" (what choice do I have anyway?) and tough it out for the next week or so.
2 amitriptyline which my dr said would take the edge off the pain. It's codeine that I'm trying to quit - and I didn't take it - but I felt I needed something to numb the pain! Have I failed? Yeah, eventually I want to be completely pill free and I've got a tens machine to use for the pain during the day. I guess I just want to know what others think.
PTSD by narla, Sep 14, 2009 07:05PM I have just been reading some of the discussions on these pages and I've never thought the things I suffer due to child sexual abuse could be PTSD.
The places like hospitals all seem to say one must stay for 4 weeks or more. I can not do this, also what can take that would help with the pain, headache ect, How long before one starts to feel at least SEMI ok. Please will someone tell me as I only have like 40 pills left and I do not want to refill a script.
You can buy gel hot/cold packs to put in each side. If you live in Canada you can buy tylenol with codeine (8mg) over the counter. I'd be tempted to take a couple. The whole goal in all of this is to get your joints as relaxed as possible as soon as possible. The more time you are tense - more its going hurt. Unfortunately - chances are its going to hurt. But its gotta be done. It shouldn't be as bad as wisdom teeth. They really have to yank at the jaw to get those out.
(it does really hurt - waaaaaaaay worse than childbirth - thats for sure) If you can take paracetamol and diclofenac regularly (depending on what your docs prescribe) and only take the opiods (eg codeine/morphine) when the pain is really bad - as they can be constipating and the last thing you want to be doing with a sore bum is straining to pass a hard bowel movement.
I do PU more than I used to as well. I am on 60mg Codeine Phos 6 hourly, 75mg Diclofenac SR twice daily, and 1000mg Panadol. I try not to take any pain killers if possible as I don't like pills and the Codeine is not very good on my stomach after the second dose. And I have to be careful with the Diclofenac as I suffer from cronic reflux. I have had an MRI and seen a specialist.
How on earth can you tell if any are being effective if one of them is hiding what another is doing. So, one at a time. Despite the fact that I was taking all the asthmatic drugs I was prone to as many s seven or eight lung infections every year from asthma. Now the real test begins, and that is to see if each drug, used induvidully, will give me the true story.
First, I was prescribed this med and then I found other ways to get it. Knowbody knows I take it as much as I do. Anyone....have some advice?
After my laparoscopy/hysteroscopy to diagnose and remove my endo, my gyno/surgeon told me to take Diclofenac Potassium (Voltaren Rapid) to manage my pain if I needed it. It worked okay for the pain I had day to day, which was just nerve pain and referred back pain. But now I have started bleeding heavily again 11 months later and it's not a combination of the original pain coupled with agonising cramps and severe nausea. The nausea is new to me!
I am confused, You can't take codeine phosphate as it has unwanted side effects right? Co-codamol is codeine phosphate. You can tolerate the 8/500 but the 30/500 is causing bad side effects? I am sorry if I am misunderstanding you. I would try hydrocodone or oxycodone maybe even an extended release formula. These drugs are a bit stronger than codeine. I am glad to see that you do have a doctor willing to help you and treat your pain.
The injury did substantial damage to my trigeminal nerve and I was given 240mg codeine a day to take fro about 4 weeks if i remember correctly. My codeine habut eventally grew into an1800mg/day habit but realistically, I didn't need the pills from probably a few days after the surgery. After that, it was all about recreational use. Now that I am clean, I feel the nerve damage and am more aware of the plates but they are at most uncomfortable, not really painful.
Since my surgery, one week ago,I have been doing well. I was in a lot of pain but they finally got that magaged . I get hickups almost every time I stand up from either laying down or sitting. Which is quite oain full for the incision. Also I have such vivid nighmares/dreams I have to physically sit up mid-dream to wake myself. The docs gave me 30mg controlled release oxycotin, 20 mg oxycodone(break throught pain), 5mg valium, 50 mg diclofenac (NSAID), & 4 mg Zofran (for nausea).
I have found myself taking one just to relieve those symptoms I am concerned that I am dependent on the tramadol and it doesn’t look like I am going to get rid of the pain, and the need, any time soon." "I have been taking 10-15 Tramadol 50MG for about 5 years now and I am trying to get off of them. I have tried tapering down and that is not working... I have gotten myself to the point that I am out of medication and I am now dealing with the withdrawal symptoms without any relief.
I didn't know that opiods cause the release of histamine. No wonder I itch like crazy when I take them. I just knew that the itching was a side effect. I wonder if you could use an opiod cough med for pain? I know a lot of people use the pain meds for cough. They generally don't have the additional pain reliever in them. Tussionex (pricey) has an antihistamine in it. Just some thoughts. Good luck with your procedure and I am sure that your doctors will figure something out for you.
I was actually readmitted to hospital as the pain was so bad after only one day and they gave me tramadol and diclofenac which I am still on now as still waiting for resolution to problem although my doctor has now prescribed me the slow release version of both which means you don't get the wearing off and waiting for it to work bit like the normal versions and can sleep through the night.
I myself have had a headache for almost a week now, I do not know why as I never have headaches, and I take some strong medications for lots of problems with my back, and while they help that, they do nothing for my headache. I am at my wits end. So, those she takes drugs ain't gonna help her. I am glad you are a good husband and trying to get to the bottom of this. Hope this helps you some.
think it began with a c) how long did it take to get your operation and what did u take for pain killers (my gp has prescribed codeine phosphate, paracetamol, diclofenac, and prochlorperazine for sickness) as i can still feel the pain. i have stopped trying to look online as when i type in cyst i get pcos and when i type in solid growth i get tumor and ovarian cancer...if it was either of these i would of thought they would of given me more info...
That worries me cos if i found it so easy, will i do it again?? I nearly died. I took about 40 diclofenac and about 15 codeine phosphate i think, couldn't breathe at one point, that was scary, my BP was on the floor as was my temp.
Cleared the lungs, but the coughing and choking has been extreme. I get to the point where I can't breath in. I am on a nebulizer, 4 x's a day. Gerds and larynx spasm have been mentioned and meds have been given for this. That was on the a week ago. The coughing is not making me weeze as much now, but is still extreme and causing a great deal of pain in my ribs and chest.

I was wearing a bandage that was tightly wrapped around my head but I took it off because I feel like the pressure was making it worse. What can I do to lessen the pain? Is it only going to be like this for a short while, for the skin to stretch a rejuvenate itself? It is not infected, it looks just fine and I have been putting neosporin on it, it just hurts!
I never abused my drugs and took only as prescribed, not sure if I had that the w/d's would be worse if I had, I can't imagine it could get much worse. Day 4 of no pains meds (which was actually 14 days into the process) was the worst, I actually ended up in the ER. The doctor told me he couldn't give me narcotics and I looked at him like he was insane.... I didn't want narcotics as I have a 3 week supply at home, I needed help getting through w/d's.
I sleep only 4 hours a night due to waking up and being in pain from the lower spinal area to the right hand side,in my hip and down my leg, I would like to know if anyone has any answers to my problem, I had a CT scan after a year and they lost my results, since then i have been given constant medication of Dihydrocodeine 30mg x2 = 3 times a day, 10mg diazpam at night only in very short spells of being prescribed. also take 1x 50mg of diclofenac.

So on the first day of starting the new meds and stopping the syndol I was taking 1-2 ibuprofen a day and I was instantly sick on my first day I think because I had withdrawal symptoms from not taking any more syndol. But I will break this cycle and once I have I will never take codeine based painkillers ever again. Syndol's are addictive. All I can say to you is see your neurologist GP. He/She will help you.
I don't take pills/supplements and rarely take advil and thats only when I have migraines....which is fairly often but I say I rarely take advil because it isn't everyday and sometimes I can go 2 weeks without. I would rather not take anything even for the pain, I just deal with it. There are many days that I hurt so bad I don't want to move. All tests were normal including an EEG...the brain one. The neuro didn't have an explaination, he said everything was normal.

My doctor has told me that scar tissue can take some time to heal. I am a real worrier and I think about it all the time which I am sure doesn't help. Is, or has anyone else suffered anything similar? Would really appreciate some feedback.
I have been taking pain meds for 4 5 yrs just to get high and well i'm off now, but I do know that when on some like vic's perks or oxy certian things would set me off little things that would have never if I was sober and I would have a major attitude so it is very possible that it can make her moody...Not sure what exactly, but my b/f would call it oxitude as in attitude....As for alternatives i'm not the one to know anything, but i'm sure someone will....Good luck!
