1116530 tn?1324913147 so with the doxy and the 3 advil, i would not want to take anything else. it is a weird/awkward procedure but it is not much worse than having a longer than usual exam/pap smear. you'll feel better if you are coherent and can understand what they are doing. they explain along the way and tell you what looks good/is normal as they go.
Avatar n tn can i take 2 advils and half a percocet for dental pain?
Avatar f tn t cut it for you then the next time that you can take some meds take the percocet. By the third day I barely needed the advil anymore. I hope it starts to feel better for you soon! Take care and keep us posted.
Avatar f tn I would be careful taking Advil PM as it has an antihistamine in it and might make RLS worse. I mistakenly took Nyquil with an antihistamine in it and had the shakes real bad. So be cautious..
422881 tn?1257603579 Maybe I’m better off just taking a Percocet to get me through the day. I can get by on a lot less Percocet than I can Advil. Hopefully all these aches and pains will improve in March when I come off the Peg and I will not need to take this stuff anymore.
1930941 tn?1400107522 I am 27 days percocet free! Yea! I also in the past was an alcholic. I didn't drink anymore until I tried to quit the percocet. Now I am 27 days free from alcohol and percs. I was taking about 8-10 percs (10-325) for about a year. Before I took Vicodin for 2 years but not abuseing it. I am very happy to be clean but I am suffering terribly from joint pain in legs and headaches. I take Advil for joint pain and if the headache is bad I take Excedrin.
Avatar n tn I can see the socket is getting smaller with a remnant of dressing left in it. I can control the pain with 600 mgs. of Advil. I prefer not to take the Percocet since I used it for 4 days straight. How long do they take to heal? Do I need more packing? ( I hate to do this route since it hurt so bad the first time. Not so much the packing but the syringe irrigation.) This dry socket was caused from smoking which I have not continued since Monday. I have stopped completely.
Avatar m tn I have been on all sorts of meds in the past, including vicodin and percocet. My orthopedic Dr. told me before I could mix tylenol with advil and it would equal a pain pill without the narcotic effect. I don't remember how many of each to take and how many hours apart to take each of them. Is this safe? I would rather take these then go back on pain meds! Thanks!
422881 tn?1257603579 I checked out your post but I don't know what to think. I know Advil can raise your ALT. Going to go see if you've had any responses over there. Best.

Avatar m tn Someone else may have a different experience with it, but I would recommend against it...advil can tear up your stomach and tylenol can tear up your liver, and when you combine them you're just making it that much harder for each system to process them easily. have you tried things like aleve? Naproxen sodium I have found to be a superior pain reliever as far as OTC medications (non prescription) go :-).
Avatar m tn My question relates to liver damage related to the use/abuse of pain medication. By pain medication I mean OTC(Tylenol/Advil) and of course, Vicodin and Percocet. The short version is: For the last 10 months I have struggled with lower back pain. I am 24 years old, 6'5'', 220lbs and generally healthy/athletic build. I started taking a lot of Tylenol(4g a day, but never more), sometimes mixed with Advil to curb my back pain. I then moved on to the doctor and go prescribed Vicodin.
2202729 tn?1377551205 I agree with Pooh, take Tylenol. I think most hepatologists recommend it for liver patients, up to 2000 mg per day. NSAIDs (including Advil, Motrin, aspirin, pretty much every OTC pain-killer other than Tylenol) are contraindicated if you have liver disease.
Avatar f tn i am having a horrible tooth ache its my wisdom tooth it needs to be pulled but it cant be extracted until wednesday so this morning i took a vicodin 750 mg but i dnt have any left when the pain kicks back in can i take a percocet 10 mg and it want interact with the vic in my body thanx for your time
1711722 tn?1356487554 Knowing that Flu like symptoms were a side effect, I did get a Flu shot in August, prior to tx. Today, right now, I really feel like I am fighting off a cold or Flu. Can I take something like Nyquil but without alcohol??? Thanks. Just took the day off sick yesterday, and don't want to be out tomorrow.
Avatar f tn Give them to someone else to hold on too and give you your doses and only take it until you can change over to Advil witch may be sooner then you think then have who ever has been holding your pills get rid of the others .I had to do this when I had major surgery a year and a half ago by day 3 or 4 I was able to change over to Advil and a heating pad then first few days were a little uncomfortable but doable.just take the most precautions you can .
Avatar f tn Hot showers or baths are SUPER helpful and the only place I felt remotely ok during withdrawal. Take as many as you can for as long as you can. You really don't have that much further to go! Recovery and the mental side of this is a lifelong thing. Once the physical goes away we have the mental to deal with. Have you thought about any recovery plan?? Therapy, meetings, etc?? This forum is a great place for support also.
Avatar f tn Oh God, I don't want to go back to Tramadol. I took it for 8yrs. But I did take 1/2 of the percocet cause the pain was driving me crazy but now I feel like this is going to spark my addiction.
Avatar f tn If not then i would think they prescribed you something semi strong? They should have. And just take advil or tylenol with it if u can and if your not breastfeeding.
6323845 tn?1381188828 U can also take advil up to 28weeks....
1736894 tn?1310599736 Many women with endo are also gluten intolerant. I do that and I also take Oregon Wild Harvest Turmeric (I have tried four different brands and this is the only one that works.) (If you have liver problems or are on blood thinners then you cannot take it.) Also my sister has found that vicoproferan (vicadin with a combo of advil) is a great drug.
890900 tn?1284577303 I have rsd in both my hands...I take percocet on a daily basis, along with other meds to help my life be more tolerable. I am not addicted to it. But I depend on percocet to reduce my pain. I hope no one thinks I am addicted..I am not. I don't understand why this nonsense is being done to cp sufferers. Those who use the drugs for a legit reason should not be made to suffer for those who abuse them. I've heard they are thinking of doing the same with avinza, which I alse take.
Avatar m tn MY husband has had a cervical fusion and herniated disc - he does very physical work-construction- and gets through with advil. I hope you get some relief. Oh..maybe an aleve? At least you know you dont want narcotics- way to stay strong!
Avatar f tn Also, the doctor mentioned I could switch from percocet to Advil, especially during the days as he pain gets better. Will taking advil over percocet help reduce the swelling?
Avatar m tn I have had 4 this year and need one more in December. I quit percocet c/t two days ago and yesterday I thought I was losing my mind, high anxiety, restlessness and everything else that goes with withdrawls. I can not sleep and am constantly laying down, getting up, moving, back to bed and the routine goes on. I don't know what to do. I did take a clonzapem for the anxiety which I am hoping helps.
Avatar f tn Hi. I take it you've not tried plain old paracetamol + ibuprofen to see of that'll help? If you have a history of addiction it's not 100% safe to have what can be an addictive med. However it MUST NOT be taken with alcohol so if you do take tramadol and it helps the pain and you don't drink then that's great. But if you slip up then you must stop and find another way for the pain.
