1303537 tn?1317800741 m sure most of you know. Anyways, my question is can I take naproxen? That isnt a opiate? I just dont wanna mess up and not know it! I get drug tested everyweek so I dont wanna take something I shouldnt. I also started taking wellbutrin, i noticed after around day 45 i was over the "clean and sober bliss" and started to feel down and didnt wanna get in bed, ate soo much. Anyways I really need something for my back let me know what you think.
Avatar f tn advil is a minor anti inflammatory I have never heard of it prescribed for this before but it could help a little I suppose more widely prescribed for GM are some of the big anti inflammatories - particularly prednisone or methotrexate I did take Naproxen for some time, (months at a pretty high dose - it really attacks your stomach lining though so I went off), which I guess is a step up from advil, and is a non steroidal anti inflammatory (NSAID), can't say if it helped with the inflamma
Avatar n tn i am currently taking 20mg citalopram, i suffer with server back problems and im usually prescribed naproxen 250mg which help with the pain. Am i able to take my naproxen with my citalopram? as i am currently lots of pain and unsure what can take.
2202729 tn?1377551205 I agree with Pooh, take Tylenol. I think most hepatologists recommend it for liver patients, up to 2000 mg per day. NSAIDs (including Advil, Motrin, aspirin, pretty much every OTC pain-killer other than Tylenol) are contraindicated if you have liver disease.
790137 tn?1318064425 I take naproxen twice a day as needed for the pain
1394601 tn?1328032308 shell, I have to take the Rebif mornings or it interferes with my sleep. I also have to take the oxycodone/acetaminophen in the morning or I can't move. ess. I am thinking along the same line...that the acetaminophen is enough. I was fine yesterday. And yes, the less medication the happier I am!! Just hoping it doesn't backfire on me.. Thanks to both of you for responding. I just wondered how others have handled it....
Avatar n tn I wonder whether I can just take Sulfasalazine and avoid Naproxen (pain killer) and Omeprazole (acid reducer) if pain is within my endurance level. I really dont want to upset my stomach by flooding with drugs. By the way, can the disease damage any joints in the later years even though drugs are being taken to control it. What are the percentage of recovery or is there any case of having full recovery.
Avatar f tn I would be careful taking Advil PM as it has an antihistamine in it and might make RLS worse. I mistakenly took Nyquil with an antihistamine in it and had the shakes real bad. So be cautious..
Avatar f tn Is there an OTC pain reliever that I can use for my menstrual cramps while I am experiencing ulcer-like symptoms? If not, what are the best alternatives? The first 2 days are always just awful, and before I usually took 6 advil gelcaps throughout the day for the first 2 days. Thank you!
Avatar m tn Someone else may have a different experience with it, but I would recommend against it...advil can tear up your stomach and tylenol can tear up your liver, and when you combine them you're just making it that much harder for each system to process them easily. have you tried things like aleve? Naproxen sodium I have found to be a superior pain reliever as far as OTC medications (non prescription) go :-).
Avatar f tn Hi when I was on Peg,Incivek, Riba I called my doctor to tell them I was in pain, knowing I had cirrhosis, he advised me to take Advil. I very sparingly used it.
Avatar f tn Thank you very much for ur reply. I have never had a reaction to Advil and always took it before I got pregnant. I think I will just give it a try and just keep a close eye.
Avatar m tn s harder on the stomach than Advil so if you get an upset stomach from these kinds of medications, take it with food. Check with your doctor and pharmacist first to be sure it won't interact badly with any prescribed medications. It sounds like what you do for a living isn't allowing your surgical injuries to heal. Have you done any occupational/ physical therapy to try to find better working techniques that won't continue to aggravate your wrist?
Avatar n tn s in my diet, and eating pineapple because it is anti inflammatory. Sometimes I take Advil medicine, but it never does anything to the cramps. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!!!
1230912 tn?1273492770 The script is for 500mg and I looked it up yesterday to see that it was just Aleve in presciption form which is why I am dumbfounded since I was on 800mg of ibuprofen. I do have better luck with presciption drugs compared to OTC because Advil does nothing compared to my precription ibuprofen. I just wish we could have started on the preventatives instead of the anti-inflammatory which we know does nothing. Plus the traMadol which I am already on, duh!
Avatar f tn I have an UTI and its painful. Does anyone know anything I can take for the pain?
Avatar f tn t diagnosed until I was 27 showing symptoms from my second period at 13 . I was given naproxen that was it. I suffered tremendously and I would take Advil 3 every 3 hours so I am sure my liver from all those years is no good.
10678677 tn?1413254266 Tylenol (acetaminophen) is safe, but do not take ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) or naproxen (Aleve). For cold medications you must read the label because you should not use something with dextromethorphan (cough suppressant). Also, some already contain acetaminophen so you don't want to take double doses.
Avatar n tn s really nice and all, however I am very concerned with the pain as I work a 45hr/week job and am quite new so i rather not use my sick time. Naproxen does not work, gabapentin increase makes work impossible as I can’t think very straight at all. I have massage therapy tomorrow evening, i am however super afraid it could exacerbate the pain as it is the nervous system and not he muscular system that is the issue here. Any advise on why this could be happening to me so out of the blue?
1317473 tn?1329245903 I have the same problems too. I can not seem to find any OTC drugs that help with the pain. I would suggest talking to your doctor about the pain and see if they have any suggestions for you. That is what I am doing after my u/s next Friday. They might be able to give you some sort of prescription or even physical therapy that will help. I hope things get better hun. If you find anything that works let me know.
Avatar f tn I am anemic and they say to take advil, IB, or Aleve to relieve the pain. (needs an anti inflammatory type of med) Trying to figure out now which one would be best--- any thoughts you doctor brains out there?
