I have a pill cutter, but as is I am prescribed .5mg pilIs that I cut in half so should I cut them in half again? My biggest fear is losing my job. I have very high stress position, but I am very successful.
My doctor is switching me from zoloft to prozac because she thinks I need a different ssri to help with my anxiety. She said after a week on prozac I can eliminate the K one day out of the week,each week, until I am off. And she is giving me trazadone for sleep. Is this too fast?
m switching to Zoloft and I cut the pill in half to 25. That seems to be working so far. If it turns out that the e.d. returns I'll try be happy to try another anti depressant. If I have to stick with Zoloft I wonder if they'll give me an rx for Cialis or one of those medications. It's kind of expensive without a rx. My girlfriends older brother takes Cialis but he isn't on anti depressants.. He is just getting on in years (61) so not that old. Anyway..thanks.
i was only on 50mg zoloft for around 4 years and cut back to one, one night, half the next for a week, then half per night, then every two days, three days etc.
People need to read up on their medications and take direction from their doctors as they study for the privelage of knowing what they are talking about.
I am wondering if I can taper down on the amount of Zoloft I am on. I take 100mg twice a day and I don't like the sexual side effects. I've been on this drug and this amount for years. How much can I go down to to see if the side effects go away and yet still be on an amount that works? This may be a silly question but it's what's on my mind.
I have started taking Zoloft-today I raised my dose to 50mg. However I am still feeling very anxious - I become very, very shakey & dizzy etc in fact shakey nearly all day and night. I have been on the Zoloft for 26 days and 21 of them I have taken a 1/2 of a .5mg of Xanax. I don't feel the need to take more than that but I am sooooooo scared of becoming addicted. Even at this little amount will I have problems when I stop taking it? Will I react if I don't take one tomorrow?
my wife went to NY with my baby girl a month ago and i started missing them so much that i couldnt sleep at night. i even begged my wife to cut her trip short and be with me. i will wake up in middle of night with panic attacks, sweating and racing heart bear. During one of my hospital visit doc gave me xanax and that helped me calm down. therefore, i took xanax and my GP gave me zoloft. one first night of zoloft i went nutts, got up in middle of night with fear of taking my own life.
Ive been on 150 for 3 weeks now but yesterday I swear I cut a pill in half and my mom even remembers me doing so, I took the 150 and that was it. But the other half disappeared, I don't know if I took it by accident or what. I'm nervous to take the medicine tonight because I don't want to double dose. I've skipped zoloft for a day a couple of times and get up with a headache. Is it better to skip tonight and take it tomorrow?
I've had some suggestions to cut the pills in half, but I have capsules, not tablets and they cannot be cut in half.

I cut the pill in half and took 50 milligrams for about two weeks. After the two week period I cut the pill into quarters and took 25 milligrams for the last two weeks. I then stopped completely and have been very dizzy, light headed and suffering from a daily headache. Sometimes I find it hard to concentrate, but I am trying to cope with this as best I can. Is all of this normal after stopping Zoloft?? I am getting worried and would like to start feeling like my old self.

I always thought Zoloft was something that had to be taken regularly to take effect, plus I'm not thrilled with taking an anti-depressant or any other prescription medications. Yes, my pill can be split in half. I don't have a pill spliter, so I am wondering if I can use a knife to cut it. I already cut it actually and it split right in half. My pill has a "divit" like a divider already so it cut very easily.
I've been on Zoloft just 1 week so far. Today, I started feeling a little better. I read it can take up to a month to work. I cut my dose of Lorazepam in half to see how I would feel and so far so good. I've been to counseling for years. I think the Lorazepam caught up to me as I'm not getting the benefits I used to out of it. Hopefully, the Zoloft alone will work eventually. Thanks for responding!
I am in the process of applying for a new job as a police woman. I have taking zoloft for past two years for PMT. I am currently in the process of reducing my dose and taking 50 mg daily. I need to be med free and asymptomatic for three months. How will this be determined? Can they detect Zoloft in Urine test, Blood Test or similar?
I am suppose to be taking 3 mg of colonazapam a day with it but it makes me pretty much want to sleep so I cut them in half and it seems to be working. I still get wired in certain situations just not as bad as it was and I can sleep now. I'll give it a couple more weeks and if I haven't mellowed I will wean my self off and try another with the docs consent any way any recommendations on a certain one to try.

I have been tapering valium since June last year (did crossover from Klonopin/Ashton method) and started Zoloft in June (25mg) and upped it to 50mg in August. I have held the valium taper since August due to diarrhea and decided to taper zoloft but now I am not sure which to taper first. I am at 6.5mg valium down from 12.5mg (was c/t in August also from 9mg and reinstated to 7mg almost immediately).

But, 2 weeks isnt very long to be on a medication. But no matter how long or short im on a med, i always wean just to be safe. Some Drs say you'll be fine... but I don't take that chance of cold turkey. What I do, and I'm not giving medical advice,... but I'll take half of what I'm taking for about a week, then a cut that half in half, for a week, then just a little bit for a week, then done. Works pretty good for me. =)

Hi. I am taking 100mg of Zoloft for mild depression and irritability. I had loved it apart from the sexual side effects. Wish to God there was an SSRI without those side effects. I had been feeling happier, more focused, and even had more energy. But... in the past month I have been increasingly angry. Wondering if anyone experiences the drug wearing off throughout the day. Seems like I get irritable at night. Thanks for your input.
