Avatar f tn I take iron and eat as well as I can but really have no appetite. Down 20 pounds in 10 weeks. I was over weight so this isn't a big problem yet.
351317 tn?1204751871 The 10mg zyrtec is too strong for me so can I cut it in half and take 5mg instead?
Avatar n tn (Test results were normal) My blood pressure in the office was 207/130. I have never had BP problems in the past. I am 61, female and about 25 lbs overweight... (I am working on the weight issue.) Shocked at this BP level, Dr. immediately prescribed triamterene and lisinopril and told me to contact an internist.. But on my insurance plan, I cannot get appt for 5-6 weeks. In the meantime, I have been reading about these medications on the internet... scary....

1210142 tn?1266077031 The cardiologist suggested to cut Carvbedilol in half/so now I am taking 3.125 twice a day instead of 6.25 and my chest pain almost disapear. I don't know if Losartan can cause this or just switching drugs my body needs more time...? The above mentioned side effects are very bothersome and I don't know if they are from Losartan or...just need time? From your expirience: looking for BP medications with good proven record and less side effects?
Avatar n tn I used to get awful pains in my chest and my vision was affected (Blurry vision, and floaters appeared in my right eye) I also felt as if I wasnt here (Light headed and when I walked I felt as if I was veering to one side) The same thing happened when the Doc doubled my dose of Lisinopril to 5mg all those symptons came back again. Instead of making me feel better I felt a 100% worse, that is how I am only taking 2.5 mg Lisinopril now.
Avatar f tn I've had some suggestions to cut the pills in half, but I have capsules, not tablets and they cannot be cut in half. What should I do??
Avatar f tn Yes, my pill can be split in half. I don't have a pill spliter, so I am wondering if I can use a knife to cut it. I already cut it actually and it split right in half. My pill has a "divit" like a divider already so it cut very easily.
Avatar m tn Sent me to a cardiologist, heart looked fine other than a mild leaky valve. Stress test went good I did it for 9 and a Half mins. Doctor Said I was healthy. I was put on Losartan 100/mg -Hctz 25mg shortly after my Bp was over 140/80 a couple visits to the doc. It now runs 135/75 when I check it usually sometimes 127, or 142 just depends I guess. I exercise, I eat pretty healthy, I'm young and I'm really wondering how to deal with this?
Avatar m tn Over the years I am down to 12.5 Corge and off Lisinopril although my left top half of my heart remains slightly enlarged. The coreg normally lowers the HR. My HR runs 48-50 BPM. Coreg's purpose is to lower HR and help the heart squeeze more blood with each beat to keep the heart from wearing out so quickly. How many mg. of Coreg are you taking?
Avatar f tn What many people don't realize is that there are quite a few symptoms that can apply to either/both hyper and hypo. Stomach/digestive issues (gassy feeling/bloating), depression and fatigue are certainly hypo symptoms, but many people who are hyper have them as well. Being short tempered can go along with being fatigued and/or depressed or not feeling well in general.
1059594 tn?1261323966 Isn't Opana Time Released? I know you're the doctor, but I don't think you should inform people to cut their medications in half, ESPECIALLY if they're time released as this could cause a rapid release of all the medication in turn making her more sick, or am I wrong? Avatar n tn I wanted to know if I can cut the pills in half. Would taking 250mg. be as effective? All the symptoms of my uti are gone. I was supposed to take the pills for 7 days and I stopped after 4 because of side effects.
Avatar f tn Yes its ok to cut it in half. It should have a little place on the pill where to cut it. If you want to be absolutely sure you can always ask your pharmacist.

Avatar n tn I am scared because I am taking 10 mg of lisinopril and just found out I am about eight weeks pregnant. I have done some research and I what I have found is that it can cause birth defects and even death. Does anyone have any experience with this?
Avatar f tn I have a fast heart rate can lisinopril lower my heart rate I usually take metropolor tatted but I ran out and my dr won’t see me till 2 weeks from now plz let me know if it’s okay to take lisinopril
Avatar f tn My symptoms got much worse, with lightheadedness whenever I got up and nearly constant palpitations. He has now cut that medication in half (20mg to 10). I live in a Third World Country so am concerned about quality of care. My questions are, in general if I should be taken totally off BP meds because my arrhythmia so lowers my BP and if I should be put on some kind of arrhythmia meds. I can't think this much racing heart is doing me any good!
Avatar n tn That also happened to me when I was prescribed Metropolol 25mg I had to cut the pill in half and it took me a few weeks to get adjusted to the effects of feeling like I was walking on air,,I now take 12.5 in the morning and 12.5 at night this has helped me alot.
Avatar f tn s to take after bypass surgery for they not only help keep your BP down but they help to repair your heart, I hope if you do try these that you are helped my them, I am in the middle of changing Doctors to see if I can try some other meds.
Avatar f tn Metoprolol 25 mg. Does it make a difference in what I'm taking, wether I can cut in half or not? The PA knows what I am taking and he told me just to cut it.
Avatar m tn Can you ask your doc for another bl pr pill instead of beta blocker? I can't take bbs. It makes my heart go too low and then out of rhythm real bad. At the er two yrs ago when i got worse after taking bb's the doc there said to stop taking them. He saved my life. Slowly my heart went back into rhythm. I take half a tab of lisinopril plus garlic, hawthorn, hibiscus tea, Q10 and sometimes more. I am doing ok. One time when my doc prescribe the bb i told him i couldn't take it.
Avatar m tn For people like me who have prescription coverage, it would be cheaper in the long run to buy 30 days worth of 100 mg pills and cut them in half (if I was told to take 50 mg) because they would last me twice as long for the same price. The trouble comes in with some pills that are enteric coated and not meant to dissolve quickly in the stomach. That can mess up the effectiveness of the medication. I'm back on Diltiazem now and it's a pill that comes in a capsule.
Avatar n tn I just sent Ken an email, but thought I would post this to the forum: I was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy in summer of 2006. I'm on coreg (50mg) and enalapril (20mg) along with other supplements. My EJ varies from 25% to mid-40s. The coreg makes me so tired I can barely walk a mile. On my own I've cut my dosage at times by half, taking only 25mg at night so I can function the next day. That works for me, but I know my doctor says not to do that.
