Thankyou both so much for answering so fast, I will change the time I take the Januvia and will make sure I eat enough when taking the Metformin. I want to give the Januvia a chance but as I said the stomach pain is not a side effect I could tolerate for too long. Thanks again for explaining how these meds work, it helps to understand.

Have to admit i forget to take them often. My hubby says that if i domydiet well and exercise i can lower that but i am just afraid to use insulin. The range of my blood sugar is 150-300. If i get anxious that levels raises to 346. What can you tell me about this??

I just started on Januvia this week. I take many meds and vitamins, but the terrible odor of my urine just started the day after my first dose of 50mg Januvia. My urine smells worse than my cat's and very similar, ammonia perhaps? I'm going to mention it to my Diabetic educator and doctor and see what they say.

I also take powder welchol at supper. I would like to take my 1000mg of Januvia at bedtime to help lower my morning blood sugar readings that usually run in the 150's to 160, Any cons to taking the Januvia without food at bedtime?

I take iron and eat as well as I can but really have no appetite. Down 20 pounds in 10 weeks. I was over weight so this isn't a big problem yet.

I take metformin 500mg twice a day & Januvia 100mg at bedtime. I was diagnosed type 2, about month & half ago. I take multivitiamins during day. At bedtime I take the min amount of magnesium & potassium (for night leg cramps) & aloe vera in a half glass of protien shake. For days now, I have had diarrehia. Yes, my pill can be split in half. I don't have a pill spliter, so I am wondering if I can use a knife to cut it. I already cut it actually and it split right in half. My pill has a "divit" like a divider already so it cut very easily.

Isn't Opana Time Released? I know you're the doctor, but I don't think you should inform people to cut their medications in half, ESPECIALLY if they're time released as this could cause a rapid release of all the medication in turn making her more sick, or am I wrong? While in the hospital for heart related problems my doctors found that I had the D word. I refuse to accept this as I have worked so hard to avoid having the D word.
