concerta

5757880 tn?1395578022 I asked my doctor to double the dose and I break them in half. Got my price down to $20 mo.
Avatar m tn Well, I am no doctor and I will see if I can get your post sent to a more appropriate forum. However, I doubt that the Concerta is the problem. If you were successfully on it for two plus years, it is not going to suddenly start causing you problems. Unless, you had started taking something like Prozac or Paxill, which allows it to build up in your system. But the side effects would be different.
Avatar m tn Severe headache and pain in between my shoulder blades. I have had a full cardio workout and I am 44 in good health and have no other problems than Hashimotos which I am not yet taking meds for when this is all over. Can someone please help?? I am only on the second day of a smaller dose of concerta at 18 mg the previous one was 27. My head feels like it’s in a vice, my ears are ringing and I am having anxiety! Worse yet when I try and stop taking it, my anxiety gets much worse!
Avatar f tn I am 23 year old, recently diagnosed with adhd, and i am taking 18mg of Concerta. Lately, in the evenings, when i am reading,or focusing on computer screens, my eyes feel like they are vibrating, and my vision begins to shake. I am making an appointment with my doctor. But it might take time to get in. What is happening?
16613731 tn?1449676204 I have been an insomniac since my childhood. My mother and I can remember the nights I would lie awake in the living room and watching infomercials. I would not fall asleep until the morning. The doctor had prescribed Clonidine and it would knock me out until one or two o'clock in the afternoon. I cannot recall the reason why I ditched the medication.
Avatar f tn my daughter has been takeing ritalin for the past 4mths the school says she is doing graet she has 2 tabs a day but over the christmas holidays i notice a half hour after she takes it she just sits there playing with her ears all the pics from school she has lock jaw i dont like to say it but its like it turns her into a zombie she wont eat plus i feel horrible does any 1 have the same prbs i wanted to give her half a tab a day
Avatar f tn Hi folks, I took Concerta for 2 weeks and gave it up because of GI issues and a lot of facial twitching in addition to still having a lot of fatigue. I stopped taking it almost a week ago but I still have a remaining eye twitch that is driving me nuts. Now I'm thinking the current twitch is likely unrelated to Concerta and may be MS related. If so, it is a new symptom for me and like most MS symptoms, I need relief. Has anyone had any success getting rid of the twitches?
Avatar n tn t believe in ADD or ADHD. I WAS one of those people. Now that we are at this stage I do have a lot of unanswered questions and concerns. The first one is that every once in a while I do not give her the medication for a day or two. When she is NOT on her medication I see such a difference in everything about her. She eats so much. She says really rude things and is very hyper and disrespectful. Our family also sees a difference in her behavior. She is even hard to tolerate at times.
Avatar f tn I don't know what concerta is hon. But I wish you and your family well. I would try to get maybe a peer of his(an uncle maybe or something?), to try to get him to go to a doc and be checked out. Cause parents have a hard time listening to they're kids sometimes, ya know? So if he has a best friend or close relative I'd speak to them about it. Thats just one womans opionion. All my best sweetheart. I know whats it's like to worry about your Dad.
Avatar n tn Aside from a bit of anxiety (which could be due to PMS and the test), I do not feel any side effects. I have been sleeping and eating well. After taking a break from Concerta in the past, I have experienced irritability, sadness, and moodiness (which also could have been due to PMS given the timing of the symptoms; I've always had unpleasant PMS). Any recommendations for managing these (potential) aftereffects are welcome, too. Sorry if this is a rookie question or if has been answered...
Avatar f tn Lymph nodes have been tender and large for years but one has become hard in the last month. I occasionally have moments where I loose a couple seconds and get startled. I get random, painless muscle spasms quite regularly. I normally have lower blood pressure floating around 120/55. I take lexapro at 10 mg, claritin 24 hour, folonase, concerta( just moved from 27 mg to 36 mg). Just added seroquel at 25 mg and ritalin in the afternoons.
Avatar m tn ve been prescribed a generic version of adderall 10mg once a day. From what I read this is amphetamine. My prescription ran out and I used a concerta my concern is if I have a urine test or hair follicle test will the methylphenidate in the concerta show up? Concerta is not my prescribed medicine.
Avatar n tn My son took Concerta for several years and I noticed a change in his attitude. He would become so aggresive that he would actually hit myself. The doctor was upset when I told him I was not going to allow my son to take that medication any more. Now we are having problems with his attitude towards his school work. Good luck to you.
Avatar m tn The state I live in, does not allow refills on Concerta, so every 2 months I have to go pick up a new script ( hard copy) from my sons doctor for his Concerta ~ it varies from state to state regarding refills. It's kind of a drag to deal with, but that's how it goes with Concerta...
Avatar n tn I had one panic attack that scared me half to death because i thought i was dying. I spend the next two days thinking i was going to die of a heart attack. After two days of being paranoid i went to the emergency room and told the doctor what had happened. I was fine and sent home later that day. The constant worry for those two days had sent me into a state of depersonalization/derealization. Now it seems most of my anxiety is cause by the constant feeling unreal.
Avatar m tn I agree with Sandman, that is a high dose. I definitely think that is what is killing your appetite. I always get really hungry when I don't take my meds. If you just started a new prescription, you will just get used to it and start eating normally after a few weeks. I'd try lowering the dosage slightly and see what happens. You could also take a few days off taking your meds and see if your appetite returns.
2010625 tn?1329372056 My episodes are not as severe but they are happening more often. I swear I was manic for half a day for a couple of days. Then yesterday I was all perky and ready to do everything in the morning and an hour later I had absolutely no motivation and about another hour later I was back to normal.I am depressed off and on most of the time though. It is a bit exhausting to be going up and down so much. So I am kind of lost on the whole thing...not sure what to do...
207227 tn?1271416978 For a second opinion, I went to a pediatric neurologist. I brought the diaries I keep on her, symptoms I see, etc. I am very thorough and have done extensive research! The doctor did not have much to say except that it is difficult to diagnose when they have such similar symptoms. He decided to put her on Concerta. After reading about this medication, I decided not to give it to her right now.
Avatar f tn my family and i went to the child phycoligist last night and after 2 yrs of treating my son with adhd he finally came to a diagnose of aspergers he is still on concerta which i just started and i am just going to start seroquel 25 mg to try to get him started on some kind of a balance the doctor was explaining to me using different meds will balance everything i hope.i was a little back taken with the diagnose as you can imagine.but he is showing signs of asperger symptons.
Avatar n tn s been a week and still nothing, just like before.I was wondering, can I give Omega 3 in the same time?Do you think it would help? And if I decide to up his dose to 36 mg and still see no difference, what are the other kind of meds out there?I'm at the end of my rope here. The teacher is doing all she can,but she also has 16 other kids to tend to,I can't expect her to tend to onl mine kwim? She is great and I know for a fact that she does all she can. Please suggestion needed!
Avatar m tn Concerta is an extended release form of Ritalin. Which is what I took when I was a kid. It is still a stimulant but it is much milder than Adderall. I think more doctors should start patients Concerta because it has fewer side effects than Adderall. I've never seen anyone have side effects as severe as you described from Adderall with Concerta. I still have some side effects from adderall. But I never remember having any from Ritalin (immediate release form of Concerta).
Avatar f tn I have insurance and this is a ridiculous and outragous price for co-pay for this medication. Where can I go and get a 27mg coupon for concerta. Because I looked up is for 18mg and 36mg. Pharmacy will not take this coupon.
Avatar f tn I agree, break it in half for a few days. You'll be fine.
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with ADHD as an adult a few years ago, and started taking concerta to help me focus in college. I stopped taking it for a while, and about a month ago, went back on the concerta. I take 36mg of extended release in the mornings when I have class or homework to do, and it does help me focus. However, since going back on it, I've noticed that I sometimes can't grasp words. Like I know what I'm talking about/trying to say, but I can't place a word with it.
Avatar m tn About a year and a half ago I started watching anime (kind of dumb but for some reason it makes me happy) and it sort of became a big part of my life. I had been on concerta for nearly a year and though I would talk away too much, I seemed to be doing well. I started feeling tired later in the day and cranky, so I asked my doctor to switch me to Vyvanse and did. Since taking Vyvanse, when I watch anime I can tell that I enjoy the story, but I just don't feel excited.
Avatar m tn I have been off the meds for over a year now and I have not recovered my erectile function. I can only get a semi if I try really hard. I don't get morning boners any more and I don't get proper hard ons when watching porn either. When I have sex I use viagra - that seems to work more or less fine although I still don't have the sensation of being hard like a tight balloon like previously.
