can deviated septum get worse

Might want to get an opinion from a ear, nose and throat doctor to see if breaking your nose has damaged your nose. It might have changed the deviated septum to a point that something should be done to fix it. Anything that is very painful and doesn't improve greatly within 24 hours should be seen by a doctor.

Has anyone else experienced hearing loss or impairment with problems associated with deviated septums or nasal spurs? I have a deviated septum that has been giving me a lot of nasal blockage feelings and breathing difficulty. My hearing has also gotten worse..which coincidentally has been a genetic thing in my family.....so is the deviated septum..... I have problems with fluid in my ears as well as what they say is neural hearing loss based on my hearing tests..

The headaches were also on the left side due to pressure from the clogged nostril. He told me I had a deviated septum. I scheduled surgery that day because he said he could fix my problem and make it easier to breathe. Well he did make it easier to breathe out of the clogged side, but he moved the septum too far and now I cannot breathe out of what was my "good" side. My headaches are worse than they were before the surgery.

My question to you is, is it common for both nostrils to get congested at the same time because of deviated septum or my flu and bronchitis plays a role in it? I haven't been sleeping for over three weeks because of that and is developing anxiety and is afraid to go to bed. Since my surgery date is in September, I would like you to help me to regain my sanity and restore some sleep.

Hi, I have a severely deviated septum on the left side and was getting a Covid swab by an overzealous nurse. She poked me all the way up the left side where my septum was deviated, felt resistance and kept going. I felt a sudden bout of pain and she finally retracted the swab. Two days later I wake up with clear salty liquid dripping down my throat. I also have a massive daily headache, eye pressure and sensitivity to light.

You should be evaluated by an otolaryngologist as you may be suffering from chronic allergic rhinitis, a condition that is best managed medically. Certainly a deviated nasal septum can make your symptoms worse but recurrent sinus infections are more likely the result of an obstruction to sinus cavity outflow. My ENT also wanted ME to get surgery done for a deviated septum becuase I had chronic sinus infections...but I was able to get things under control with XLear (a saline nasal spray with xylitol, which is a natural antibacterial). Doc gave me this as a LAST resort after all steroid sprays were ineffective and caused headaches. Wish he would have given it to me first and I'm sure glad I didn't have surgery! I'm not a Dr. but my advice would be to look for other answers.

I saw my ENT doctor this morning and she showed the result of CT scan. Indeed I have Deviated Septum and she suggests me to be operated. This Deviated Septum explains excessive mucus in my throat. However, I am still wandering if it causes some bloody mucus in my throat in the morning. For that I worry about my lungs.

Can you get a deviated septum if you snort pain pills? Like hydrocodiene, percs, norcos.?

I went to an EET and had sinus surgery done a few years ago to open up for drainage and to repair a deviated septum. However, since then the pressure and lightheadedness is getting worse and adding to the equation I've got fullness in my ears. Sometimes at night it's all I can do to stand it; the pressure is so bad. I've been to the doctor complaining several times and he says it's "Indiana sinuses". I just don't know where to turn or what to do.

I have heard of a perforated septum and deviated septum- Can these things lead to a feeling of your eye starting to sink in (it totally is not noticable to look at) its just a slight feeling. What is that all about? AND from there can it cause more damage to your ear drums? Like having a popping or clicking sound when blowing by nose. I would appreciate any advise- insurance issues, surgerys, natural healing, but please dont say to me to stop doing cocaine.

Right now, I am not insured so I am unable to visit on at this time. My main concern right now is my ears. Every single day, from morning till night, they always feel sort of full.

i was diagnosed year 2007 with severe deviated septum prior to this i have been experiencing some weird feelings about my health throughout my childhood , teenage and adolescent years. Hello, I wanted to know the risksof having a deviated septum fixed. I had this problem for over 10 years and it seems to keep coming back. I had it fix twice before. I am noticing that the cartilage in my nose seems less so I am concerned. I don't want to have to keep getting surgery to correct my deviated septum. Is there any other options (besides nose sprays)?

it revealed several polyps through out my sinuses,pus in my left cheek sinus,and airpocket in another sinus,deviated septum and my turbinates are 4x larger then they should be .im on xyzyal which is like zyrtec,veramyst,singular and i take claritin every day...
