Avatar f tn So I lost my mucus plug about 24 hours ago I've had contractions since then but not regularly at this point its extremely painful at time to stand or walk or lay on my sides its all in my hips when I say painful has anyone else had contractions that felt like ??
6926872 tn?1386186835 Yes labour can be painless. My first two labours were painful and 2nd actually worse than my 1st. But my 3rd was a dream. I honestly had no pains at all. And only went into hospital because my stomach was tighening like bracton hicks every 2-3 minutes. Of course the head crowning still burnt like crazy. I have just found out I am expecting baby 4..
Avatar f tn I keep having contractions about 5-10 min apart but they are not to painful they are stronger the the bh ones I was having not sure if I should call to go in or wait and see if they get stronger
Avatar f tn They can be painful for some people. The rule of thumb is 4 or more contractions (BH or not) go to emerge or call your doctor.
1287128 tn?1331134538 When I went into labor with both of my boys, my contractions were not painful until the midwife broke my water around 7-8cm. The only way I could really tell it was real labor was the consistency of the contractions and the pressure. I know everyone is different, but if they remain very consistent, I would think you are in labor or very very close!! I would wait another hour and if the timing stays regular or gets closer, I would go in. Can't hurt to be checked!!!
Avatar f tn Im 33 wks and mine have been painful yet irregular already too.
6363715 tn?1394225781 I do have a high pain tolerence but i feel like there not contractions cause every one says there so extreme. Ots totally possible for them to not be very painful tho right?
Avatar f tn I'm 39 weeks and have yet to feel one painful contraction, I'm really nervous that I'm not going to know when I'm in labor since I haven't felt anything painful yet, I don't even know what contractions are supposed to feel like other than the tightening I feel from Braxton Hicks. Or if I get painful contractions and think I'm in labor then I get sent home because I'm not...
Avatar f tn Orgasm can cause contractions. Drink some water and lay on your left side. It should ease up.
Avatar n tn Hey ladies...I'm 40 weeks and 3 days pregnant...and I'm also a Ftm...I've been having very painful contractions (at least I think they are contractions) since last night...they are 5 - 6 mins apart...my water isn't leaking...or broke.......and I called labor and delivery and the nurse basically blew me off because I didn't "sound" like I was in labor....but I was home alone and I had to get myself together to speak clearly...
Avatar f tn Irregular and extremely painful contractions would have my midwife telling me to come in. Have you tried calling? And like pp said, a hot shower could ease but be careful!
Avatar n tn im tired and exaushted havent had much sleep. i dont know if i can take much more. can i be induced or is it too early?
Avatar n tn I agree too - - You are due now, so definitely watch and time those contractions. They can be a bit sporatic for a few days before, but I'll bet they become more consistent in the next few days. good luck.
Avatar f tn And contrary to what it says, they can be painful. The main difference is BH are random, come and go, and should ease up by walking and stretching. Real contractions you can time, they are consistent, get worse with time, and the pain does not let up. Hope that answers your question.
Avatar f tn Im with you.. tomorrow ill be 40 weeks and not dilated. Going to be induced Wednesday night.
7530804 tn?1398546771 the BH I had at 24 & 26 did hurt.. they wrapped around into my back & I did NOT want to move. I of course brought this up to my OB, and he said it was definitely normal. I've had a few since then (I'm 29w4d now) & they've not been painful again, yet, but obviously noticeable. I think they're just like anything else.. it's different for everybody.. to say they're not painful is an opinion.
Avatar f tn Braxton hicks are your muscles kinda tightening up getting ready for real labor contractions. Sometimes you can see them in your tummy when it gets hard. They are usually painless and you really don't start getting them til around 33 weeks. You're probably just having ligament pain. Ligament pain is caused by stretching skin or sudden movements, like if you get up a certain way. I'm not sure tho. I had menstrual like cramps around 30 weeks and my Dr.
Avatar f tn Sounds like Braxton hicks. I'd call your office in the morning and talk to your doc/midwife about it but it should be fine.
7502680 tn?1405284034 I don't know what I'm feeling right now. My stomach keeps tightening up but I can't tell if its my son pressing against it... And I keep getting cramps in my back but they aren't extremely painful like everyone explains them to be. I am 39w & 4 days, what should I be looking for?
9827649 tn?1410039233 I'm 33 weeks & I'm having painful, irregular contractions. What should I do?
323702 tn?1217775973 Sounds to me like they could be braxton hick contractions but maybe you should monitor them and see how regular they are. I think as you are still a bit away from your due date it is just your body gearing up for the big event. I know with me the bh contractions became a lot more regular and a bit more painful as the end got nearer.
