antibiotics

Avatar m tn if its been more than a week since you finished your antibiotics you can return to have your prostate checked to see if swelling went down as well as they can check you for a fungal infection too.
Avatar n tn I have noticed a pattern which I was reminded of recently, and that is whenever I take a round of antibiotics, it relieves the swelling for a while. I finished a 10 day course on Avelox about a week and a half ago, and so far have had no swelling. Does anybody have any idea why this happens? Avatar f tn He is right on that. Don't stress yourself cause it can be more harmful than anything. If it's on the safe list then I'm sure you are fine to take it. With all medicines there are a small amount of risks or side effects that can happen. If they do happen just discontinue taking the meds. I personally think you will be just fine, try not to over think things and get anxious about it. It's bad for you and baby.
Avatar n tn I x-rayed a year ago and they were all fine. But i can feel the swelling and it hurts out of nowhere. Could it be infected?
Avatar f tn im trying to persuade my doc to send me to a urologist for more precise tests i read that testosterone deffiency can cause alot of probs with testicles , did you ever find out what it was or isit stil a problem ?
Avatar f tn Well, the ovules go inside your vagina, so I doubt it. Irritation inside your vagina, I could buy into although I've had great luck with monostat. And it would not affect your estrogen levels. However, what were you on antibiotics for (yeast is not treated with antibiotics)--- BV or what other type of infection and what antibiotic was it?
758281 tn?1234115374 Neuropathy can cause swelling in the following way. If you don't move your foot, as in walking, or flexing it up and down, then the blood circulation becomes stagnant. It does this because our feet and legs depend on the contraction of the muscles to squeeze the veins and help the blood flow back up to the heart. This can cause swelling since the blood and fluid in the tissues cannot be moved.
Avatar m tn Hello I agree with Jerome Tsang that swelling of gums is bad so i want to share some home remedies that you can do to avoid swelling of gums 1.Add salt to warm water and rinse your mouth with it. The proportion of salt should be high i.e., 3 tbsp of salt in one glass of warm water. Gargle with this water and let it stay in your mouth for at least 30 seconds. Swoosh the water around inside your mouth so that it covers your teeth and gums thoroughly.
Avatar f tn Just recently I had an absessed tooth, for which I got antibiotics for. One night I bit into a piece of an apple right on the side of my bad tooth, and somthing didnt feel right. My whole lower jaw swelled and my mouth was in so much pain. Needless to say I noticed my lower left side of my lip and jaw/cheek became numb, and has been numb since. The swelling finally went down, but I can still feel like a hard bump in my lower jaw bone.
Avatar n tn Not only did it cause pain and swelling, but it also caused a bit of vertigo. I was treated with antibiotics. The times that the swelling and pain came on very rapidly, it turned out that I had some very small glands inside the sides of my mouth that were blocked. The doctor ran a very tiny instrument in and out of the glands so whatever was blocking them drained off. The pain and swelling subsided about as quickly as it started. Good luck to Mom!!
Avatar f tn The tests are not all that accurate, and must be read in light of your symptoms and history. You should ask your MD about taking (more) doxycycline -- and tell him/her whether you stopped taking it before finishing the whole course as prescribed.
Avatar f tn Swelling gum means you have gum problem or what we call gingivitis... poor oral hygiene cause gingivitis, but in your case, if the crown was bad, like overhanged or undersized there would be a problem, cause this crown may harbor bacteria in the gingival line (gum line) which cause inflammation of the gingiva (gum). The treatment for your case may be replacement of the crown plus proper oral hygiene...
Avatar f tn Stomach cramps with antibiotics are not uncommon (the antibiotics make the muscles of the intestine move more quickly, and can cause loose stool as well). However, fever and itching can be a sign of an allergy. It is possible to develop an allergy at any time in your life, even to an antibiotic you have taken before. I hope this helps.
Avatar f tn Hi, it may be because you are hypersensitive to beta lactums (penicillin, cephalosporin like cephalexin) and it is known to cause skin rash, blistering, swelling and itching in susceptible individuals and you should better avoid this drug including penicillins in future and should go for other alternatives. If it is allergy, it can be managed by using of appropriate anti-histaminic and steroids after consultation from physician.
Avatar f tn s IS an underlying autoimmune disease....... and yes, it can cause severe muscle/joint pain. It can also cause edema. I have swelling throughout my body, that may or may not be thyroid related; no matter how high my levels are, it never goes completely away. My fingers swell considerably and often hurt when I bend them. What are your actual thyroid hormone levels, with reference ranges?
Avatar f tn A few days ago my boyfriend and I had intercourse and my right labia swelled up like a balloon. The next day I went to an urgent care and the doctor said it was because of the friction and lack of "wetness". It's been 2 days now and the swelling is still pretty bad. The doctor prescribed me medication for the swelling and I've been taking it, yet I don't see anything helping. What else could I do to get rid of the swelling?
Avatar f tn We took him to the vet and as we were waiting, we noticed a hard swelling in the left side of the neck (~3,5 cm in diameter), that for sure wasn't there the day before. The vet confirmed that he had fever (39,7C). The vet suspected that it was a trauma and it developed an abscess. They gave him three shots (antibiotics and anti-inflammatory). The next day the swelling seemed to be reduced a little, he ate and drunk water.
Avatar n tn My question is that a unknown insect bite on my right foot near the fingers one week ago.I try in bestest hospital of our city but my swelling is exceeding day by day so give me your opinion. very thankfull to u. i am 16 years old male Pakistan.
Avatar m tn What can cause swelling of feet and ankles? My husband has had swelling of his legs from his shin down with pitting for several weeks. Doctors have tried discontinuing his medication and have placed him on antibiotics, but nothing seems to be working? Anyone have any thoughts?
Avatar m tn Usually conditions of heart, kidney, liver or low protein or severe anemia cause both ankles and legs to swell and swelling can go up to the lower abdomen. Hence you will need to get heart function assessed by ECHO and EKG, get kidney and liver function tests done and get a complete blood picture for anemia. Low sodium in blood, hypothyroidism and malabsorption syndromes causing low protein in blood have to be looked into.
Avatar f tn Do not search the web anymore about this...it will only cause you unnecessary anxiety. If you notice that the swelling worsens, or pain worsens, give your dentist a call...but otherwise, continue to take the Penicillin..it takes a few days to start noticing an improvement of the swelling.
