Can antibiotics cause leg cramps

Common Questions and Answers about Can antibiotics cause leg cramps

antibiotics

Avatar f tn Stomach cramps with antibiotics are not uncommon (the antibiotics make the muscles of the intestine move more quickly, and can cause loose stool as well). However, fever and itching can be a sign of an allergy. It is possible to develop an allergy at any time in your life, even to an antibiotic you have taken before. I hope this helps.

8924846 tn?1410572901 I found out that if a pregnant woman sits or stands to long it can cause these cramps. I was told to get a stool (had to get a dr note for it) take magnesium supplements, stretch my calfs (which I already do) and wiggle my toes (also already do this). A few ladies commented on the post saying they had the same problem, so I figured I'd post with what I found out.
Avatar f tn Just wondering what causes leg cramps? Mine are worse at night and they bruise my muscles and then hurt for a couple days. How can I help these to stop?!
Avatar n tn That is an excellent question. Leg cramps are often caused by what is called intermittant claudication, which is related to blood circulation. A pacemaker may limit blood circulation under certain circumstances. Unlikely, but not impossible. Speak to your cardiologist about this. They question is not that silly. He need a color dopplar of his legs to evaluate circulatory status, to keep well-hydrated, and excercise regularly, walking as much as possible.

Avatar f tn I've been getting really bad leg cramps when I'm sleeping and it seems like its getting worse ... The other night I had a really bad one in my right leg so I got up to try to walk it off and got one in my left leg right as I stood up ... Soo painful! I know it happens during pregnancy but does anybody know what I could do to try to prevent it or know what causes it?
Avatar n tn Go to mayo clinic and type in leg cramps. There are many different things that can cause leg cramps or it could be nothing at all. You need to be evaluated for the cause.
1840402 tn?1355432565 Uti's can cause cramping and contractions as it irritates the uterus. The antibiotics are necessary! I'm sorry about the tonsils, my husband went through that at 33 and it was miserable. I can't imagine it during pregnancy, I sure hope you feel better. Merry Christmas, and God bless.

4715985 tn?1371582997 Its also important to stay well hydrated during the day as being dehydrated can cause cramps too. Since you are only 13 weeks along, its not yet necessary to sleep only on your left side, that rule generally applies after 20 weeks. So changing position occasionally may help too.

Avatar f tn Around 30 weeks I started having what was sort of like leg cramps. Did some research and realized it was Restless leg syndrome... They ache and you pretty much have to move them all the time. It was keeping me up at night. But like most pregnancy symptoms, they come and go. I suggest drink lots of water. I mean lots! Just doing that eased alot of my symptoms.
800427 tn?1324945719 My midwife told me too much calcium could cause cramps especially leg cramps. I was having them really bad and was also drinking tons of milk like you and so many tums for heart burn and she told me to but back on the two and i havent had a cramp since but i do have serious cases of restless leg which hits during the day and night and prevents any sleep and there is no cure for that.
Avatar f tn Walking helps but can also cause them if you don't stretch after. I only get them in my calves so I'm not 100% on great thigh stretches but if you look online it should give you some great options, just make sure you feel the stretch while doing it or it doesn't help relax the muscle.
Avatar m tn If you have hypokalemia, then this can cause muscle cramps. Excess potassium also can sometimes cause the same. If you have a heart disease which necessitates the use of potassium, then the concurrent decreased blood supply to your leg also can lead to cramps.
