ambien

763205 tn?1234422576 I have been taking Ambien/Ambien CR for several years now. I switched from the regular Ambien when the Ambien CR became available. Two nights ago I took my nightly migraine medications and my Ambien CR. I remember being awake for about 45 mins after that and then I remember nothing. Some how I was unconscience when I took 8 more Ambien CR 12.5 mg. I remember nothing after that. I went on a wild rampage in my room and destroyed everything in sight and I do mean everything.
Avatar n tn Ambien CR does come in 12.5 mg -- I have some. the regular ambien does not, but ambien CR does. just clarification.
Avatar f tn I have non-alcoholic cirrhosis which is just waiting for the transplant stage even though it could be many years off. It was discovered that I was suffering from major depression due to a grief issue. The liver diagnosis come on very quickly and my grief was apparently put on the back burner. They call it delayed grief syndrome. I have a wonderful therapist and psyche. Of course the psyche manages my drugs in conjunction with my liver doc..
323551 tn?1255174750 klonopin is by far the more habit forming of the 2 even if used as prescribed...down the chemical chain there are similarities and both should be tapered.....ambien can become habit forming if abused...klonopin can even easier at a prescribed dose...anything u choose to sleep with..even tylenol pm can be psychologically habitforming...if u r using 5-10 mg of ambien to sleep at night while detoxing off of klonopin...i would not worry...if u r taking 30-40mg ambien a night..then i would worry...
763205 tn?1234422576 How many pills did you take after going back and counting the tablets? It's not uncommon for people who take ambien or Ambien Cr to not remember doing something. They fall asleep and don't know they're sleeping, so the end up taking more pills because they don't remember taking the 1st one and the cycle keeps on going. I've heard horror stories of people racking up credit cards, diving and cooking while on Ambien.
Avatar f tn I started taking Ambien & Prozac in Oct 2009. I started building a resistance so my doctor prescribed for me Restoril, that didn't work so she started me on Lunesta. After I started building a resistance to the Lunesta my doctor prescribed for me Ambien CR 12.5mg. It's now March 2010 and I need 4 or more Ambien CR to sleep. I can't sleep without it!!! I haven't taken the CR 12.5mg in 24hr and I have the common addiction symptoms.
1102799 tn?1269237714 Ambien generally gave me a buzz when I took it at night, I would feel euphoric (but no sleepwalking) - I do not have this side effect with Ambien CR. I guess one needs to be careful with all of these sleeping pills!
Avatar f tn Then, 30 minutes before actually going to bed I give him Ambien CR. The regular Ambien was not working at all. Ambien CR on the other hand seems to calm him down and there has been less action. I also placed a body pillow between us and that seems to curtail some of the aggressiveness. It gives him less space to move around and I feel safer. Yes, he speaks while he is asleep, (more of gurgutal sound than words) but it has come down a bit.
Avatar m tn However the ambien can make you groggy/hungover/etc in the morning. It may be safer to stay on the alprazolam but increase to 1 mg. I know the others will kill me for suggesting that but it doesn't sound like you have a problem with the meds,do you? Ambien is a pretty strong med (so is xanax/alprazolam) and both are addictive if used improperly so please talk to your doctor about how you are feeling physically after the ambien.
Avatar m tn i have been on clonazepam for many months and ambien cr i am having problems with thinking straight, and i believe it is the clonazepam not the ambien cr.
Avatar f tn t said if he is taking Ambien or Ambien CR. The Ambien CR helped me MUCH more than the regular Ambien. Of course I never slept the whole night through but a few hours then I'd wake up about 2 but I was able to go back to sleep usually even if it was several times a night. Good luck, I've never been much of a good sleeper but if it gets that bad I would seek out a sleep clinic doctor place - he could have sleep apnea or something that is compounding the situation.
Avatar f tn If you use it to help with withdrawals such as insomnia, that's what it sounds like you asking, you're only substituting another drug in place of the other(s) . Then again, it's probably worked as a 'bridge' for some people to make the withdrawal easier. But as mentioned above, it is addicting and often just prolongs the process more.
Avatar n tn Is ambien good to use during withdrawl? Also does anyone know if ambien can be prescribed at dosages larger than 10 mg, like take 1-2 as needed?
Avatar n tn I also have sleep apnea. few things can happen here. 1) he was probably given the ambien cr to help sleep with cpap machine. 2) he can stop breathing (totally) in the night. and another issue is it hurts your heart and other organs over time. people dont use it and they can die. I use mine every night. a cpap is a very uncomfortable thing. it take time to get use to it. try to get him to use it.
783281 tn?1259691431 the ambien CR can also cause the groggy feeling in the most because of its two part release... if you dont like this i would ask the doctor for regular ambien either 5mg or 10mg. its the only sleep aid that works well for me. helps me sleep and aside from the fact that im always fatigued because of other problems, i never have that hang over feeling from it. im not a doctor, but it is just a suggestion because i have had experience with both the traz and the CR.
Avatar f tn m taking the Ambien CR and THANK GOD FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!! I tried regular Ambien and had 2 nights in one week that I only got 2 hours of sleep... which didn't help with the depression or Riba Rage. I still wake up often, but am able to go back to sleep now. I have no problem with feeling bad the next day. I'm on Effexor for the depression. My feelings about the sx: Right now the most important thing is to kill this dragon... whatever it takes.
202665 tn?1248806733 Seroquel has a mood stabilization effect in addition to being an antipsychotic so that would stabilize things in that area. I would be concerned you might be building up a tolerance to Ambien as that can happen if its taken every day so you might call this to the attention of your psychiatrist and ask about other options.
Avatar m tn Ambien CR costs $200 versus $6 for the regular stuff. We did talk about it, and I wanted it, but at $200 a month it just ain't gonna happen. So I'm sticking with the Ambien for now. I don't really want to take higher dosages of temazepam. And like you say, getting off of ambien isn't that difficult, just a bit time consuming as you ramp down the dosage.
Avatar n tn does anyone think that ambien cr will help with sleep while going through withdrawls???
Avatar m tn I can tell you from experience, both Ambien and Ambien CR are notorious for causing odd behavior. I had to quit taking Ambien CR after it stated causing anxiety and pacin attack issues. Regular Ambien caused my husband to rise an hour after going to sleep and go down to our garage and work on his bike until 3:30 AM, when I realized he wasn't in bed and found him downstairs asleep.
2203249 tn?1338990446 Ambien CR Extended-Release Tablets 'All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. Check with your doctor if any of these most COMMON side effects persist or become bothersome when using Ambien CR Extended-Release Tablets: Dizziness; drowsiness (including daytime drowsiness); "drugged" feeling; dry mouth; headache; muscle aches; nausea; nose or throat irritation; sluggishness; stomach upset; weakness.
323551 tn?1255174750 If your not using the Ambien CR, and just Ambien...I would swtich to the CR. It helps you sleep longer (from experience). The benadryl is probably what is causing the "fog" the next day. You could also try clondidine for a week or two, .1mg twice per day. It will help you sleep at night, as well. I have had luck with the clonidine and am using the Ambien CR right now as I taper down.
Avatar f tn a few years ago. Ambien CR has to be tapered with some regular ambien that you can adjust the dose on. The CR doesn't need to be halved or broken. The doc can help you with that. I agree with what vicki said too. You have to decide, do it and then find something else to help the pain. It takes a strong resolve no matter how you decide to do it. Having your mom help will be a great way to do the taper. Save the ambien for last.
Avatar n tn The two feels like I want to wake up and stop feeling alone . I know deep down I can be happy but the withdraw and ambien are making depression extreme . Not going to hurt myself or anything like that just really depressed and moving around looking at the time ... I should go watch lord of the rings until I fall asleep . I think that movie is around 4 hours long .
Avatar m tn I'm no doctor, so I definitely can't give you any medical information on Ambien, but I can relay my personal experience with it. I've been on Ambien (currently 10mg) for SEVERAL years now (5 or more). I have many chronic pain conditions, including fibroymalgia. One of the major symptoms of fibro is insomnia - which I definitely suffer from!
Avatar n tn I have done the sleep hygeine route, and have been tested for sleep apnea, tried several herbal sleep remedies, just about everything on the market, as well as ambien, ambien cr, and trazedone, all with little to no success. does anyone have any suggestion that may help me finally get some sleep??? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
