Bystolic low pulse rate

Common Questions and Answers about Bystolic low pulse rate

bystolic

Avatar n tn My experience during the past couple of months with BYSTOLIC (5 mg) are excellent heart rate control, no gastro issues, anti anxiety effect and good sleep. The negative effects have been knee pain, stiff and heavy legs, especially when using stairs, low libido (loss of morning erections), and fatigue. I 've also experienced some weight gain, higher cholesterol, and my blood pressure is not being controlled too well.
116881 tn?1189755823 I do not have any experience with Bystolic, but I have considerable experience with beta blockers. It is my experience with them that after a few weeks the side effects become less noticeable. In my case I had to opposite problem, I take BB to lower my HR, not my BP, but the BP went down too, and it made me prone to dizziness. This passed and now my BP is about normal. I suppose that could be your case with a too low HR, but I do not have any direct evidence..
Avatar n tn I have a diagnosis of Afib secondary to a prior case of pericarditis. Treating Afib with Bystolic. Last Tuesday developed bradycardia; heart rate in the 40 to 50's. Constant chest pain, spent night in hospital for cardiac work up which was negative. Now we are going to do EGD to rule out stomach issues causing low pulse but I am thinking my cervical spine problems (which have worsened) may be the cause. I also have upper thoracic pain. Could this be the cause?
Avatar m tn IST involves a chronic rapid heart rate, as well as exaggerated heart rate response to stimuli such as exercise. I had IST (and PACs - I still have PACs) for a couple of months after a virus infection back in 2010. Even light exercise (such as walking) could get my heart rate into the 160s, and walking up hills could get the heart rate into the 200s. It probably didn't help that the heart rate made me panic. Propranolol (beta blocker) helped me tremendously.
687614 tn?1244197979 Now I am back on Toporol XL 100 mg still with pulse rate in the 90-120 bpm range resting and up. But BP is still 130/90's range when up and very low 96/58 range resting. Are there any meds that work right. The Propanolol was great at controlling the day I took it, but side effects took me out...same as the Attenolol I was on. Bystolic and Toporol are the only ones I can tollerate the side effects with but they don't work as well... Go figure... anyone else stuck in this rut?
Avatar n tn I recently stopped the flecainide and have had no significant a-fib that I can discern, although some skipped beats. I do continue to take bystolic and azor for high blood pressure. However, since discontinuing the flecanide, I have had what I would describe as a pounding heartbeat (not rapid), dizziness, and consistent blood pressure readings of 140s/50s.
687614 tn?1244197979 While in the Emergency Room last month they put me on medications to regulate my high pulse rate, and it apparently worked too well. My pulse dropped from 120+ down to around 70. Then it would drop to 50 and then stop suddenly, restarting on its own after a few seconds. It's almost like sleep apnea where you stop breathing briefly and then start up again. They put in a pace maker and have me on Cardizem CD 240mg/24 caps which I take one of each day.
687614 tn?1244197979 t know which is better the high pulse rate or the super low blood pressure. Sorry, but somehow I missed your post to this. Not even certain if this med is working pulse still spikes up there and now I went from super high blood pressure to super low. I liked Verapamil better when it worked. Still to this day can't figure out why it stopped working. Now anxiety over all these medications is throwing me all off.
Avatar n tn I have been on 5mg bystolic for a couple of months. My knees also ache. The worst part is I am exhausted all the time. I have also put on 15 pounds in the couple of months I've been taking it. It is controlling my heart rate. I also take Micardis.
Avatar n tn My pulse rate varies 55 to62.Recent studies you areputtingthe central aortic pressures up.Nadolol is cheap however shouldn't i be on Bystolic? I am 75.I F of 57 . Quard bypass 23 years . Never had angina, only dyspnea on stress testing , with moderate enlargement rt atria. on utrasound.
Avatar m tn I been taking Bystolic 5mg for a year now and sometimes it works to well. It will get low and stay that way for days.
Avatar f tn was taken off for a week and felt like I was dying . Was put back on 75mcg. Still had low temp 95,9 shivering cold . hard to lift arms. I was then going to increase by alternating 75mcg with 100mcg. But my pulse started to increase, and was concerned about starting 100 mcg. A few days later started with hypertension , pain in head, pounding heart. during day and at night feeling low shaky cold etc. My urine output is definitely decreased. and feel I am still very hypothyroid. Dr.
Avatar n tn I feel an adrenalin rush that stays constant for up to two hours at a time. This has been going on for over a year. I went on low dose hormone and the pulse slowed and the periodic racing stopped but the heavy leg feeling began. I also started treatment for high blood pressure. I have since gone off the hormone and the racing has come back. I was able to get to an emergency room during one of these events and my resting pulse was (when I arrived at the ER) over 150.
Avatar n tn My blood pressure was first medicated with losartan, after early morning headcahes were waking me. Years later that symptom returned, and bystolic was added. Things were great for years again. My new symptoms include a widening gap between the upper number and lower number-the lower number has dropped into the 60's and my upper number has risen to 150's to 180's, yet I weigh less now than when I started bystolic.
Avatar m tn From this forum I have understood that there is possibility of LV reverse remodelling if pulse rate is kept low. Now I fear that if I reduce my coreg my pulse rate will increase. When I asked this question to my cardiologist he replied that if I cannot tolrate higher dose it is better to keep it low. Can someone tell me if it is necessary to maintain high dose of coreg even with the difficulties I mentioned above so as to get advantage of low pulse rate.
4703993 tn?1379768388 Wow, with your pulse reacting dramatically, it sounds like no beta blocker would be a good thing, as lowering the pulse rate (which they hope will make the heart pump more effectively and might actually raise the blood pressure) I believe is the reason they even give a beta blocker to someone with P.O.T.S.. I've not had to wear one for that long. The twenty four hour one I recently had going had at least one of the stick-um things making me itch!
1933354 tn?1323362834 5mg Bystolic, my cardiologist prescribed them to me to help control my heart rate. I was having lots of panic attacks and my pulse would get really high. I am on day 7 of the beta, I do feel a huge difference, a lot less anxiety, all my physical symptoms of anxiety are gone. However, I am noticing some effects of the beta blocker, such as heavy legs, really tired, tightness in chest. Some people are telling me this can't be the beta blocker, and that I should stick out my 30 day regiment.
Avatar f tn org/posts/Heart-Rhythm/Low-pulse-and-palpitations/show/1537421#post_6981777 and received various suggestions, all of which I tried out but none of them have pointed to any explanation and my symptoms have increased so I thought I would post again and see if anyone had any new suggestions. Basically, I'm now 31, at the time of my last post I was obese but I've since lost 4 stone and am now about 7lb overweight but am still working towards normal weight.
Avatar f tn He also said the pulse in my right wrist was low. He changed my meds to Bystolic 10 mg (one a day) but the next day and for the next week, I was having a moderately severe pain in my spine, right behind my heart, but not radiating. So, he switched me back to the Metroprolol. Now the head pressure is back. What other drugs or type of drugs would be good to try. Should I ask to be seen by the cardiologist? We have HMO insurance so I would need a referal.
Avatar m tn I am on LISINOPRIL-HCTZ 20-25MG and BYSTOLIC for HBP I am also on PRAVASTATIN for Cholesterol. I recently had to stop the Bystolic because my heart rate was low between 45-62. I am 54 and I excercise a lot yet nobody seem to know I have this chest pain and constant fatigue. I need help so bad. My heart rate sometimes goes as high as 120.
Avatar m tn The question I have is I am taking Bystolic Imdur ER and Lisiniprol which I know the Bystolic keeps the heart rate way down...at what rate should I use for heart rate for training .. My max would normally 158 but I am not sure what changes on meds.......
Avatar m tn i do get some headches and feel lightheaded sometimes. Is this because of my low pulse rate?? i kinda worried about it all the time and stressed sometimes...any help?
Avatar f tn I know there are other causes of low pulse rate, however. You will have to talk to your doctor about it. I would keep my appointment if I were you.
Avatar f tn My hearrt rate goes as low as 44 but usually when it is low it is in the 50 to 60 range. How low can it go before medical attention is required?
