Avatar f tn Anyone have an increase in high blood pressure & heart palpitations while taking Buspirone for anxiety? I am 41 & female. I have genetic high blood pressure and take Bystolic for it. I have taken a low dose of Buspirone on and off the past few years. My doctor increased my dose a few months ago (I take 15 mg twice a day) and I feel like sometimes my heart palpitates and night. The palpitations are waking me up some nights. My BP also seems to be spiking on and off the last couple months.
Avatar m tn I am taking the generic of Diovan 160 mg. I was thinking of trying bystolic, but I have heard that it was expensive.
Avatar f tn He also said the pulse in my right wrist was low. He changed my meds to Bystolic 10 mg (one a day) but the next day and for the next week, I was having a moderately severe pain in my spine, right behind my heart, but not radiating. So, he switched me back to the Metroprolol. Now the head pressure is back. What other drugs or type of drugs would be good to try. Should I ask to be seen by the cardiologist? We have HMO insurance so I would need a referal.
Avatar n tn I was put on Bystolic about 4 months ago when Benicar did not effectively control my B/P and occasional PVC's. Since that time I have experienced increasingly severe chronic pain primarily in my right shoulder area (altho some in my left also) extending into the Trapezius and Bicep muscles. It is so severe that when I roll onto my side during the night it will awaken me in pain.
Avatar f tn I was taking the generic form of Toprol (?) for my high blood pressure, 25 mg and it was giving me problems after being on it for over a year. Horrible dreams, head aches/pressure, and pain in the area of my left kidney. The Dr put me on Bystolic, but it was samples and there is no information on side effects. I have started having stomach problems and acid reflux lately. Can the Bystolic be causing this? What would be other good choices?
Avatar f tn can help some people who were taking Provigil but you have to ask your doctor about that. I only hope this drug goes to a generic form one day so I can have it again. It had been a life saver for me and how I am starting to regress. Good luck!
Avatar f tn I saw in a previous question that Tobramycin might be substituted for Vigamox (which is MUCH cheaper). Can you suggest a cheaper substitute for Nevanac? I had asked the nurse for more samples, but she refused saying they wouldn't have enough for the other patients. Thanks!
Avatar m tn While reading I began to suspect the female cycle, then checking your profile I see you are a male, so that is out. Perhaps there is a Beta Blocker or a Calcium Channel Blocker that will help that has tolerable side effects. I do not know the brand "Bystolic", I take generic Metoprolol myself, very inexpensive too. I take 25 mg twice a day, normal release medication. The side effects that were the most troubling to me, dizziness, passed after taking the medication for a few weeks.
Avatar f tn I've been on bystolic for about a month and a half. I've had some dizziness and a little fatigue. No problems sleeping or anything like that, though. I was previously on metoprolol and had awful nightmares, way worse dizziness and light headedness, heavy leg sensations, etc. Bystolic has been way better for me. Best of luck to you!
Avatar f tn may I please know the generic substitute for this drug chymoral used to reduced swelling.
Avatar f tn My doc LOVES Bystolic. Both are Selective Betablockers and they say Bystolic has little or no side effect. I would give it a try. I have not used either but have heard very good things about it.
Avatar m tn My Cadiologist Recently prescribed Bystolic 5 Mg tablets I per day . I have since begun having dizzy spells Can they be a side effect from the Bystolic?
Avatar m tn •Have a slow heartbeat or your heart skips beats (irregular heartbeat) I'm guessing that my doctor thinks my heart palpitations are not considered an irregular heartbeat? I'll ask him but I found this a little scary.
Avatar n tn I do not feel as bad on Bystolic as metoprolo, I seem to have more dizzyness on Bystolic. I do get some chest discomfort while on Bystolic that the metoprolo kept at bay.
Avatar f tn Hi all, this is my first post and I am new to all this to, so please excuse me for lack of etiquette. I would like to know if there is a substitute for amitriptyline first and foremost. Now I know you guys are based in the US so the names of the drug may be different but I really do need some help. I am aware that it is used frequently for people suffering with MS as both pain relief and as an anti-depressant but living with the side affects is daunting.
899454 tn?1295583938 My last Holter showed some PAC’s, about 187 PVC’s and two episodes of VT a day. The cardiologist put me on Bystolic 2,5 mg (a beta blocker). After taking the med for a month after all the side effects, I felt great. My BP was nicely under control and I didn’t got the tachycardia anymore. What I noticed is that I was getting more PVC’s than usual. I also started to take magnesium oxide 500 mg a day and omega 3 fish oil 2 grams a day in june 2009 which reduced the PVC’s that I was feeling a lot.
Avatar f tn My doctor recently switched me to Bystolic - and I was given "samples" for a month but no instruction sheet or counter-indications as far as drug interaction. Would there be any problem with the above that I am taking and this drug? Also, I just lost (and want to continue to lose weight) 16 pounds on a diet program and don't want to regain that weight! Does Bystolic cause weight gain?
Avatar m tn s office were done by a human. During my visit with my Doctor, he changed my BP medicine from 50MG of Atenolol to 5MG of Bystolic. Since a few days after the change, I often feel very flushed in the face, forgetful, confusion, seem to lose my train of thought more frequently, change in bowel movement.......With all that said, I guess my major question is are these some of the side effects when taking Bystolic? Should I go back to my Doctor and request he put me back on Atenolol?
Avatar n tn Recently my doc placed me on the Beta Blocker Bystolic. Week one was 5mg. Week 2 was 10mg and week three was the final ramped up dose of 20mg. I was fine on the 5 and 10 mg tablets but felt like crap in the morning after taking the 20mg tablet. The doc allowed me to cut the 20mg tablet in half until our next apt at which time he prescribed Carvedilol 25 mg twice a day. Anyone have any insight as to why he might have done that?
Avatar m tn Hey guys, whenever I read about acebutolol in treating pvcs and bystolic, I hear mainly positive things. Is anyone on here on these blockers !!, if so whats your experience. I aked my cardio Dr. about Acebutolol, he said its something he wouldnt usualy prescribe for pvcs because it doesn't slow down the heart and the common belief is a slower heart induced by a beta blocker is supposed to reduce pvcs,, but people claim that this stuff works.
Avatar n tn I am a 63 female taking 10 mg Bystolic once in the evening. I have been taking it for a year now and lately have been feeling light headed and slightly dizzy in the mornings when I wake up and then throughout the day. Is this a side effect of this drug? It was prescribed mainly for the rapid heart beats.
Avatar n tn Bystolic is a blood pressure drug. I have been on Bystolic for 2 yrs and have never had a problem with sweating. It can be a heart related problem.
Avatar m tn I started taking Bystolic and the headaches are reduced to 2-3 times a month. I am fairly certain, however, that the Bystolic has caused joint and muscle pain especially in my knees. Is anyone else taking Bystolic experiencing this same side effect?
