Common Questions and Answers about Bystolic for rapid heart beat

bystolic

Avatar m tn If I didnt I would have days were just sitting up in bed could make my heart beat faster. Going for a walk could make my heart race really fast. So Im glad bystolic works. Today however I have been lifing some moderately heavys stuff and I get palpitations so Im now considering a little more Bystolic. I would like to hear from others with IST, to hear how they cope, and if they also get anxiety when the pulse is racing. I also suffer from dizziness but I dont know if this is related.
Avatar m tn My Doctor game me a months worth of Bystolic, which is a beta blocker. My resting heart beat is @ 48-52 and up moving around it is @ 60. I work out two- three times a week, lifting and cardio. I am a very strong 55 yr old, in really good shape. A muscular 230 lbs. My worry is my heart beat is too slow for Bystolic. One of their warnings is not to take it if you have a slow heart beat, is mine too slow?
1933354 tn?1323362834 I went on Bystolic for rapid beats and I think I'm onto something here regarding my GAD. I feel better! Could this really be the cure? I take half of a 5mg and my heart doesn't race alarming me that I am anxious. Now really smooth and feel much less GAD. If anyone else has had some good results by taking this please let me know.
Avatar n tn This can cause a lack of oxygen to the body, including the brain and can cause rapid heart beat as well as fatigue. A normal CBC does not always tell you if your blood iron and ferritin (stored iron) levels are in an acceptable range & they should be tested specially. I have had low iron and normal CBC and my tachycardia from my P.O.T.S. has been even worse from this. Are you taking any medication to try to prevent future TIAs?
Avatar m tn well about 3 weeks after all my test one night my heart started beating very fast and skipping or dropping everywhere beat. i went to the we were an ekg showed i had a first degree morbid one blockage but since i had no symptoms that sent me home. next morning i went to my heart doctor who did an ekg and it showed normal so she thought maybe i had a panic attack. i started taking the beta blocker after this happens but got awful side affects and couldn't take enough of it to do any good.
Avatar n tn that's probably from the Bystolic getting your blood pressure down too low. Did you lose weight recently? Can you check your BP when you feel light-headed? Maybe your doc will reduce your dosage. Also, make sure the light-headedness doesn't result in a fall.
Avatar n tn I have had irregular heartbeat and strong pulse feeling intermittent for a long time and it became all the time, mostly feel skipped beats and pressure in middle of chest in addition to what felt like adrenaline surges at the least little stress; have had all tests to check out (your husband should have these tests) and doc feels I am ok but recently prescribed a betablocker bystolic (new) and I've only taken for a week but no more irregular heart beat, no adrenaline surge, some antianxiet
214864 tn?1229715239 My doctor started me on it due to rapid heart beat (tachycardia) and high blood pressure. Boy it sucked the energy right out of me! I hated it. I lost a lot of weight and abruptly stopped it (I thought I didn't need it anymore), which is a NO NO! But I didn't know though....2 months later I had an mi and stroke. So, I can tell you that the likelihood that Coreg is energy draining and Lisinopril is probably not, is high. This is just from my experience.
Avatar f tn im a 43 year old smoker and have had a fast heart beat im currently on bystolic and zoloft my heart beat has slowed to 73 or so but now it feels like it beats way too hard i have a hard time sleeping and is worse when i lay down what should i do?
Avatar n tn I have not noticed any differences in my heart rythyms , Except my heart rate has gone up. I do not feel as bad on Bystolic as metoprolo, I seem to have more dizzyness on Bystolic. I do get some chest discomfort while on Bystolic that the metoprolo kept at bay.
Avatar m tn My doctor gave me 5mg samples of Bystolic for Heart Palpitations. He wants me to take 1 a day before bedtime. He told me that it will slow my heart rate down. Normally I get 1-2 palps daily. Slightly concerned because it can lower your blood pressure to. My blood pressure is normally around 125/80. Doc says my heart is generally in good shape but I do have some "leakage". Mild case of mitral valve prolapse and slightly large aortic valve.
280234 tn?1532986249 Hi, I'm a 33 year old Caucasian female. I'm 5'4, 145 lbs. I developed high blood pressure in 2002 (when I was 22)during the last months of pregnancy, & after the birth of my daughter. My OB then said I did not have Toxemia. I had a really difficult labor having her, and my BP got really high during the delivery. After the delivery, my BP started running higher than it used to, like about 154/95.
Avatar n tn s hard to say what causes the fast heart rate. For some reason, many of us have incidents that come and go for no apparent reason. Hormones do seems to play a role for many women, not sure why (but not surprising...lol). Were you referred for any followup? As for the leg cramping, that could be from the medication....is your doctor aware of the cramping? If you have not had an echocardiogram (ultrasound of the heart), it might not be a bad idea.
Avatar m tn My doctor suggested bystolic. It has worked very well for the last year, I have been very pleased with it. In fact, I didn't switch my insurance this year because the alternative company did not want to authorize the use of the bystolic (it's a lot more expensive). I have had no side effects to speak of, much less than the atenolol. I would certainly give it a shot.
Avatar n tn I have always felt my heart beat. For me, the beta bocker helps me to feel my heartbeat less, thats the main reason why I take it.
Avatar n tn I recently stopped the flecainide and have had no significant a-fib that I can discern, although some skipped beats. I do continue to take bystolic and azor for high blood pressure. However, since discontinuing the flecanide, I have had what I would describe as a pounding heartbeat (not rapid), dizziness, and consistent blood pressure readings of 140s/50s.
Avatar n tn I purchased a heart rate monitor to keep track of my target heart rate and have quickly noticed my heart rate is quite fast. My resting heart rate is 84 bpm. This was taken this morning when I woke up and was still lying in bed. A few days ago when I was working out I checked my heart rate and it was pretty steady at about 155 bpm. At one point when I increased the speed and incline of the treadmill, it peaked at about 180 bpm.
Avatar n tn Has anything elsr changed in your diet or normal routine in the last 3 weeks before you had to go to casualty as again through long experience my rapid heart beat episodes are often understandable in that i am allergic to certain toxins, particulatly alcohol, so have to keep away from them. I am keen on finding 'triggers' as it makes me feel partly 'in control' (as if) Can you think of anything? dave .
Avatar f tn In general unless you are having symptoms with your rapid heart beat or the beat is over 200 you really don't have anything to worry about. It was likely you were getting excited is all. I can get stressed and have my beat go to 160 and not even know it. But a dangerous beat will produce symptoms like shortness of breath, chest pain or feeling as though you will pass out.
3187059 tn?1344885576 I'm 18 years old and I suffer from rapid heart beat. I don't use drugs, drinks, or caffeine. Sometimes I feel shortness of breath, left pain. I went to the doctor and I took an EKG . the highest heartbeat was 144 . The doctor gave me Atenolol and he said to use it at morning and at night. I only use it at night 25 mg. and then I stopped using it, I only take it when I don't feel well , when I feel pain. Is there any serious problem with that ? Should I do more test for my heart ?
Avatar f tn It is unlikely that running the marathon would have caused any significant structural changes in your heart that would lead to rapid heart rates. It may be helpful to have your doctor put you on a heart monitor so that the actual rates can be measured - it will give you both a better idea of what may be going on!
