I would like to know if an increase in my Bystolic and lisinopril will cause and increase in weight loss. My Cardiologist increased my byistolic too 10mg., and my lisinopril to 40mg. on the 1st of Febuary 2010, and I have lost a total of 11 pounds since being on them, my weight stayed steady prevous to that time.

I'm guessing that my doctor thinks my heart palpitations are not considered an irregular heartbeat? I'll ask him but I found this a little scary.
I have been having a constant chest pounding and pain radiating all over my left and right breast area, all tests done proved negative for heart condition but the pain rather than decreasing, seem to be increasing in intensity. I am on LISINOPRIL-HCTZ 20-25MG and BYSTOLIC for HBP I am also on PRAVASTATIN for Cholesterol. I recently had to stop the Bystolic because my heart rate was low between 45-62.
then put me on Bystolic, 5 mg, 1 x daily. I have been on the Bystolic for 3 weeks and the leg pain is back. Have appt with family Dr. tomorrow morning to talk with him again. I believe that it is the beta blocker that causes the pain and am now wondering if all beta blockers would cause it. Has anyone else had leg pain on the atenolol or bystolic? Also, can anyone else tell me of any other type of medicine that helped to lower heart rate other that a beta blocker?
My Doctor game me a months worth of Bystolic, which is a beta blocker. My resting heart beat is @ 48-52 and up moving around it is @ 60. I work out two- three times a week, lifting and cardio. I am a very strong 55 yr old, in really good shape. A muscular 230 lbs.
My worry is my heart beat is too slow for Bystolic. One of their warnings is not to take it if you have a slow heart beat, is mine too slow?
This works well to control my tachy....but, has bad side effects of anxiety, restlessness and agitation. I lookd up Bystolic..and it has none of these type side effects listed. I was going to ask my doctor to change to Bystolic. Has anyone here had any success in changing over to Bystolic from Metoprolol ?
Are you in permanent AFib, or do you have periods of normal sinus rhythm? What is you blood pressure and resting heart rate? High BP can cause heart enlargement. Is the heart size stable, not continuing to enlarge? Are you taking an anticoagulant to reduce stroke risk?
I am much older and suffer from Permanent AFib, for which I take drugs to control the ventricle HR and and anticoagulant to reduce stroke risks associated with blood clot formation in the fibrillating atrium.
t slow down the heart and the common belief is a slower heart induced by a beta blocker is supposed to reduce pvcs,, but people claim that this stuff works.
I never asked him about bystolic but I know both are selective. Im on propanolol 10 mgs 1 to 3 times a day maximum 90mgs but only take 60mgs and on inderal la 60 mgs.. I feel too tired on this junk I know its because it also goes to the head but so far its the only meds that have helped somewhat.
Bystolic is the newest beta blocker available in the U.S. LIke other beta blockers, the most common adverse events with Bystolic are headache, fatigue and dizziness. However, the manufacturer states studies have shown that Bystolic was well tolerated, with a low incidence of traditional beta blocker side effects.
After several different trials, I am now taking 5 mg bystolic and no lisinopril and my body seems to have adjusted. While I am overweight, I did not gain any additional weight as others have mentioned. I am also not exhausted. I recently had blood work so we will see if it had some kind of effect on my cholesterol as others have had. I hope not. It was interesting to hear that someone else had the heavy legs because my doc seemed surprised that I had that as a side effect.
I have had irregular heartbeat and strong pulse feeling intermittent for a long time and it became all the time, mostly feel skipped beats and pressure in middle of chest in addition to what felt like adrenaline surges at the least little stress; have had all tests to check out (your husband should have these tests) and doc feels I am ok but recently prescribed a betablocker bystolic (new) and I've only taken for a week but no more irregular heart beat, no adrenaline surge, some antianxiet
He is taking bystolic and amour thryoid as medications. Both seem to have side effects that can be heart arythmia. I am looking at hawthorne berries to assist in helping his arythmias. Are there any other viable solutions? The last visit to the doctor, indicated that his thyroid level may need to be examined.
I am a 52 year old male, I am over weight but have lost 103 pounds. Now my resting heart rate is 58 to 60,, is that ok? I've been taking bystolic for a long time.
that's probably from the Bystolic getting your blood pressure down too low. Did you lose weight recently? Can you check your BP when you feel light-headed?
Maybe your doc will reduce your dosage.
Also, make sure the light-headedness doesn't result in a fall.
So Im glad bystolic works. Today however I have been lifing some moderately heavys stuff and I get palpitations so Im now considering a little more Bystolic.
I would like to hear from others with IST, to hear how they cope, and if they also get anxiety when the pulse is racing.
I also suffer from dizziness but I dont know if this is related.
When it was placed, it perforated my heart, and had to be replaced 2 days later. In 2005, the battery was recalled, and it was replaced again. A month ago, it delivered an inappropriate shock b/c the lead is fractured somewhere. It is now turned off. I was placed on a beta-blocker. Three weeks into the meds, I began having chest tightness and shortness of breath. I went to my cardiologist, and the ecg was normal.
