bystolic

Avatar f tn , Dry Eyes, Muscle Aches, Appetite loss - don’t care if I eat, Fatigue - Always Tired!, thinning hair, Dry Skin/Dry, Brittle Hair/Dry Scalp, IBS, Reflux/GERD. I could sleep 10 hours a night. Don’t like to wear clothing that has a collar that is close to the neck. Could this be a hormone imbalance? Could I still have problems with the thyroid and have normal labs? Would you recommend more testing?
Avatar f tn Absent menses/irregularities (took pergonal for 1st child and repronex with 2nd, ages 12 and 7), sleep apnea (diagnosed 3 months ago), Hypoglycemia, IBS, Reflux/GERD. Checked at 9 yrs old for dwarfism/short stature (5 ft. 1 in), Anemia, Since middle of 07 I feel like I have something in my throat, Severe Cold Intolerance!, always low temp, Appetite loss – don’t care if I eat, Fatigue - Always Tired! As long as the TSH is normal GP won't do additional testing.
Avatar n tn I am a 35 yr old woman. I have been losing hair since 10 years. Hypothyroid was detected 5 years ago & I have been since been on thyronorm daily. My thyroid levels are generally stable. My hair line is receding rapidly, with hair thinning all over the scalp as a result of which my scalp is showing especially when I oil it or when my hair is wet. I have been taking vitamins, and trying all sorts of natural remedies, but nothing has worked. My scalp also feels itchy most of the time.
Avatar m tn I would like to know if an increase in my Bystolic and lisinopril will cause and increase in weight loss. My Cardiologist increased my byistolic too 10mg., and my lisinopril to 40mg. on the 1st of Febuary 2010, and I have lost a total of 11 pounds since being on them, my weight stayed steady prevous to that time.
Avatar n tn My wife took Bystolic and had a stroke the next morning. They put her on Clot buster so she didn't take it for 4 days. She took it and had another stroke.
Avatar n tn I've been on Bystolic 10 mg a day for a few years and just this last 6 mos I've noticed a dramatic hair loss. I take hair vitamins and all that, no change noticed. Before that I was on Atenolol 50 mg and Toprolol 100 mg a day. I have been on beta blockers for 15 years for PSVT's..maybe I will consider an oblation.
Avatar f tn My doctor recently switched me to Bystolic - and I was given "samples" for a month but no instruction sheet or counter-indications as far as drug interaction. Would there be any problem with the above that I am taking and this drug? Also, I just lost (and want to continue to lose weight) 16 pounds on a diet program and don't want to regain that weight! Does Bystolic cause weight gain?
Avatar n tn I have had irregular heartbeat and strong pulse feeling intermittent for a long time and it became all the time, mostly feel skipped beats and pressure in middle of chest in addition to what felt like adrenaline surges at the least little stress; have had all tests to check out (your husband should have these tests) and doc feels I am ok but recently prescribed a betablocker bystolic (new) and I've only taken for a week but no more irregular heart beat, no adrenaline surge, some antianxiet
Avatar f tn No, the only test my GP says I need is the TSH. I have asked for T3, T4, Free T3, Free T4 and the antibodies and cortisol and he just says as long as the TSH is in the normal range I'm OK. I also asked for him to run test to see if I might be going through menopause and he just replies that I'm too young. However, my mother was finished with her menopause symptoms at 44 and I'm 42.
116881 tn?1189755823 My Dr just took me off of Hyzaar and has put me on 5 mgs of Bystolic per day to control skipped beats and my HBP. Well, the skips are much better but my pressure is still up and my pulse is really low for me -- like in the mid 50's!!! I feel like garbage. I have only been on it for a week. My Dr wants me to stick it out a little longer. So her I am needing take one today for my BP but my pulse is sooooo low. ANyone else on Bystolic? Will this get better?
Avatar f tn I desperately want to connect with liongirl29 -- I, TOO, HAVE EXPERIENCED PROFOUND MEMORY LOSS WHEN TAKING BYSTOLIC FOR ONLY 30-35 DAYS. I DO NOT SEE MY RESPONSE TO HER POST -- DOES IT TAKE A WHILE TO SHOW UP???
Avatar n tn t smoke, do exercise, am thin). My doctor put me on a diuretic, Tekturna and Bystolic, and within a week I had completely lost my sense of taste! Anyone else experienced this? I'm wondering if it's a side effect that will wear off if I just stick it out. The combination seems to be working well to lower my bp and hr but I'm losing weight (a bad thing) and really, really miss food!
Avatar n tn For two days I was out ot the bystolic and felt great. I have a loss of desire to things around the house and have gained about 10 lbs with an increase of exercise and watching what I eat. I also have vivid dreams, good and bad. Heart rate dropped. Cholesterol went up which I never had a problem with that, I'm sleepy all the time. Plus side, this drug is like Viagra. Don't Luke the overall effects want to try something else.
Avatar f tn You should definitely tell your doctor you are having some really bad side effects tfrom the bystolic and ask him to switch your medication. There are plenty of other meds and if you did fine on the atenolol I would ask about going back to that.
Avatar m tn I had weight loss (lost 15 pounds)m hair loss, heat intolerance, tachycardia, shaking, arrhythmias (landed in the ER numerous times)(heart rate around 150-200 at times) Had ultrasound by Endo that revealed slightly enlarged right thyroid gland. My levels were checked again, tsh was still under 1.0 but told levels were normal. So I did not go back to my Dr for almost 2 years. I seemed ok for a while, though I would get tachycardia and arrhythmia weekly.
3086858 tn?1340852861 s impossible to give you a specific recommendation without looking at all your test, but in general it is extremely important to specify what type of tachycardia you have to justify a high dose of Bystolic. A high dose of beta blocker (BB) by itself (e.g. Bystolic) can produce extreme fatigue in some patients. If you have sinus tachycardia it should not be treated with BB.
Avatar f tn This works well to control my tachy....but, has bad side effects of anxiety, restlessness and agitation. I lookd up Bystolic..and it has none of these type side effects listed. I was going to ask my doctor to change to Bystolic. Has anyone here had any success in changing over to Bystolic from Metoprolol ?
Avatar m tn I take Bystolic too and I have also noticed a weight gain. I too haven't changed my eating habits. I am beginning to think it's the Bystolic because I usually can lose weight very easily, but I can't lose it now at all no matter what I do. You mentioned your systolic readings, mine do the same thing in the afternoons.
Avatar m tn My Cadiologist Recently prescribed Bystolic 5 Mg tablets I per day . I have since begun having dizzy spells Can they be a side effect from the Bystolic?
Avatar m tn I have been taking bystolic for several years and for me it seems to work much better than atenolol or lopressor, without all the side effects. I have had to up my dosage a couple of times and right at first my stomach will feel a little off and I may get a very slight headache but it goes away quickly.
Avatar m tn I have been having a constant chest pounding and pain radiating all over my left and right breast area, all tests done proved negative for heart condition but the pain rather than decreasing, seem to be increasing in intensity. I am on LISINOPRIL-HCTZ 20-25MG and BYSTOLIC for HBP I am also on PRAVASTATIN for Cholesterol. I recently had to stop the Bystolic because my heart rate was low between 45-62.
Avatar n tn My blood pressure was first medicated with losartan, after early morning headcahes were waking me. Years later that symptom returned, and bystolic was added. Things were great for years again. My new symptoms include a widening gap between the upper number and lower number-the lower number has dropped into the 60's and my upper number has risen to 150's to 180's, yet I weigh less now than when I started bystolic.
Avatar f tn then put me on Bystolic, 5 mg, 1 x daily. I have been on the Bystolic for 3 weeks and the leg pain is back. Have appt with family Dr. tomorrow morning to talk with him again. I believe that it is the beta blocker that causes the pain and am now wondering if all beta blockers would cause it. Has anyone else had leg pain on the atenolol or bystolic? Also, can anyone else tell me of any other type of medicine that helped to lower heart rate other that a beta blocker?
Avatar m tn LIke other beta blockers, the most common adverse events with Bystolic are headache, fatigue and dizziness. However, the manufacturer states studies have shown that Bystolic was well tolerated, with a low incidence of traditional beta blocker side effects. In addition, Bystolic decreases vascular peripheral resistance, improves left ventricular performance and is not associated with decreases in cardiac output sometimes seen with the initiation of other beta blockers.
