Avatar f tn The heart doctor I agree his nurse has not called me back until today and i started trying to get ahold of him on Monday and she finally called back today and said that she called me yesterday which she did not which bothers me. Avatar f tn Anyone have an increase in high blood pressure & heart palpitations while taking Buspirone for anxiety? I am 41 & female. I have genetic high blood pressure and take Bystolic for it. I have taken a low dose of Buspirone on and off the past few years. My doctor increased my dose a few months ago (I take 15 mg twice a day) and I feel like sometimes my heart palpitates and night. The palpitations are waking me up some nights. My BP also seems to be spiking on and off the last couple months.
Avatar m tn I am taking the generic of Diovan 160 mg. I was thinking of trying bystolic, but I have heard that it was expensive.
Avatar f tn He also said the pulse in my right wrist was low. He changed my meds to Bystolic 10 mg (one a day) but the next day and for the next week, I was having a moderately severe pain in my spine, right behind my heart, but not radiating. So, he switched me back to the Metroprolol. Now the head pressure is back. What other drugs or type of drugs would be good to try. Should I ask to be seen by the cardiologist? We have HMO insurance so I would need a referal.
Avatar n tn I was put on Bystolic about 4 months ago when Benicar did not effectively control my B/P and occasional PVC's. Since that time I have experienced increasingly severe chronic pain primarily in my right shoulder area (altho some in my left also) extending into the Trapezius and Bicep muscles. It is so severe that when I roll onto my side during the night it will awaken me in pain.
Avatar f tn I was taking the generic form of Toprol (?) for my high blood pressure, 25 mg and it was giving me problems after being on it for over a year. Horrible dreams, head aches/pressure, and pain in the area of my left kidney. The Dr put me on Bystolic, but it was samples and there is no information on side effects. I have started having stomach problems and acid reflux lately. Can the Bystolic be causing this? What would be other good choices?
Avatar f tn My doctor recently switched me to Bystolic - and I was given "samples" for a month but no instruction sheet or counter-indications as far as drug interaction. Would there be any problem with the above that I am taking and this drug? Also, I just lost (and want to continue to lose weight) 16 pounds on a diet program and don't want to regain that weight! Does Bystolic cause weight gain?
116881 tn?1189755823 My Dr just took me off of Hyzaar and has put me on 5 mgs of Bystolic per day to control skipped beats and my HBP. Well, the skips are much better but my pressure is still up and my pulse is really low for me -- like in the mid 50's!!! I feel like garbage. I have only been on it for a week. My Dr wants me to stick it out a little longer. So her I am needing take one today for my BP but my pulse is sooooo low. ANyone else on Bystolic? Will this get better?
Avatar m tn it will start beating around 105 and skip every third or forth beat and do it all night long and then the next day its fine for another 30 or 40 days what could be causing this. its really about to get the best of me.
3086858 tn?1340852861 s impossible to give you a specific recommendation without looking at all your test, but in general it is extremely important to specify what type of tachycardia you have to justify a high dose of Bystolic. A high dose of beta blocker (BB) by itself (e.g. Bystolic) can produce extreme fatigue in some patients. If you have sinus tachycardia it should not be treated with BB.
Avatar f tn I found out that it is the beta blocker most pulmonary doctors recommend it their patients need beta blockers... However there is no generic for Bystolic and it is more expensive... I sure do like it better than the Metorpolol though... its worth the extra cost..
Avatar f tn This works well to control my tachy....but, has bad side effects of anxiety, restlessness and agitation. I lookd up Bystolic..and it has none of these type side effects listed. I was going to ask my doctor to change to Bystolic. Has anyone here had any success in changing over to Bystolic from Metoprolol ?
Avatar m tn I take Bystolic too and I have also noticed a weight gain. I too haven't changed my eating habits. I am beginning to think it's the Bystolic because I usually can lose weight very easily, but I can't lose it now at all no matter what I do. You mentioned your systolic readings, mine do the same thing in the afternoons.
Avatar m tn My Cadiologist Recently prescribed Bystolic 5 Mg tablets I per day . I have since begun having dizzy spells Can they be a side effect from the Bystolic?
Avatar m tn I have been taking bystolic for several years and for me it seems to work much better than atenolol or lopressor, without all the side effects. I have had to up my dosage a couple of times and right at first my stomach will feel a little off and I may get a very slight headache but it goes away quickly.
Avatar n tn My wife took Bystolic and had a stroke the next morning. They put her on Clot buster so she didn't take it for 4 days. She took it and had another stroke.
Avatar m tn I have been having a constant chest pounding and pain radiating all over my left and right breast area, all tests done proved negative for heart condition but the pain rather than decreasing, seem to be increasing in intensity. I am on LISINOPRIL-HCTZ 20-25MG and BYSTOLIC for HBP I am also on PRAVASTATIN for Cholesterol. I recently had to stop the Bystolic because my heart rate was low between 45-62.
Avatar n tn My blood pressure was first medicated with losartan, after early morning headcahes were waking me. Years later that symptom returned, and bystolic was added. Things were great for years again. My new symptoms include a widening gap between the upper number and lower number-the lower number has dropped into the 60's and my upper number has risen to 150's to 180's, yet I weigh less now than when I started bystolic.
Avatar f tn then put me on Bystolic, 5 mg, 1 x daily. I have been on the Bystolic for 3 weeks and the leg pain is back. Have appt with family Dr. tomorrow morning to talk with him again. I believe that it is the beta blocker that causes the pain and am now wondering if all beta blockers would cause it. Has anyone else had leg pain on the atenolol or bystolic? Also, can anyone else tell me of any other type of medicine that helped to lower heart rate other that a beta blocker?
899454 tn?1295583938 I showed him the med that I was taking and he told me that Bystolic was not available on the island. He prescribed me Concor 2,5 mg (bisoprolol) instead. In august 2009 I started taking magnesium citrate 400 mg. Still feeling great!! In september 2009 I swithed from Bystolic 2,5 mg to Concor 2.5 mg. The first week went OK but in the second week I was feeling very tired, I had insomia, restless sleep and I also experienced a mild tingling sensation in my fingers.
Avatar m tn LIke other beta blockers, the most common adverse events with Bystolic are headache, fatigue and dizziness. However, the manufacturer states studies have shown that Bystolic was well tolerated, with a low incidence of traditional beta blocker side effects. In addition, Bystolic decreases vascular peripheral resistance, improves left ventricular performance and is not associated with decreases in cardiac output sometimes seen with the initiation of other beta blockers.
Avatar n tn Particularly since the 10mg Bystolic tablets seemed to be the “sweet spot” in terms of tolerability. And the Bystolic worked very well for my BP. I am a 41 year old male.
Avatar m tn Hey guys, whenever I read about acebutolol in treating pvcs and bystolic, I hear mainly positive things. Is anyone on here on these blockers !!, if so whats your experience. I aked my cardio Dr. about Acebutolol, he said its something he wouldnt usualy prescribe for pvcs because it doesn't slow down the heart and the common belief is a slower heart induced by a beta blocker is supposed to reduce pvcs,, but people claim that this stuff works.
Avatar n tn I have been taking it for a year now and lately have been feeling light headed and slightly dizzy in the mornings when I wake up and then throughout the day. Is this a side effect of this drug? It was prescribed mainly for the rapid heart beats.
