Bystolic and dizziness

Common Questions and Answers about Bystolic and dizziness

bystolic

I work out everyday doing step aerobics, kick boxing etc. etc. I wear a Polar pulse watch and I noticed since I've been on the Bystolic my pulse rate has fallen dramatically. Usually when I work out I'm about 150 pulse rate and now on Bystolic I can't get over 111 . When I'm not working out normally my pulse is around 80-85 and now it's ranges from 55 to 65. I was in the drug store today and I checked my blood pressure and it was 107/35. Is that to low for an very active 66 year old woman?
LIke other beta blockers, the most common adverse events with Bystolic are headache, fatigue and dizziness. However, the manufacturer states studies have shown that Bystolic was well tolerated, with a low incidence of traditional beta blocker side effects. In addition, Bystolic decreases vascular peripheral resistance, improves left ventricular performance and is not associated with decreases in cardiac output sometimes seen with the initiation of other beta blockers.
My wife took Bystolic and had a stroke the next morning. They put her on Clot buster so she didn't take it for 4 days. She took it and had another stroke.
My doctor recently switched me to Bystolic - and I was given "samples" for a month but no instruction sheet or counter-indications as far as drug interaction. Would there be any problem with the above that I am taking and this drug? Also, I just lost (and want to continue to lose weight) 16 pounds on a diet program and don't want to regain that weight! Does Bystolic cause weight gain?
I've been on bystolic for about a month and a half. I've had some dizziness and a little fatigue. No problems sleeping or anything like that, though. I was previously on metoprolol and had awful nightmares, way worse dizziness and light headedness, heavy leg sensations, etc. Bystolic has been way better for me. Best of luck to you!
The maximum daily dose fo Bystolic is 40 mg. The most common signs and symptoms associated with overdosage are bradycardia and hypotension. Or they think I am having heart problems and even with this blood pressure pill?
Recently I've been experiencing blurry vision, flashing lights in my eyes, and dizziness when I stand up from sitting for the past 3 weeks so I went to my PCP. He measured my blood pressure and it was 148 over 105.He prescribed me Bystolic, 5mg for 5days.I work out up to 6 times per week, and am a non smoker/drinker. I am a little concerned about this medication because I know that when you start beta blockers it is hard to stop.
Possible side effects are listed to be headache, dizziness, tiredness, nausea, slow heartbeat, and trouble sleeping may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly. Usually a heart rate of 50 to 60 is not considered problematic. A very slow heart rate runs the risk of clots.
Common side effects experienced by people taking Bystolic included headache, fatigue, dizziness, weakness and diarrhea. I have not seen any findings that others are experiencing this side effect. However if you are experiencing joint and muscle pain I would definitely urge you to contact the prescriber and discuss your symptoms. It may be more likely that the Crestor is causing the joint and muscle pain.
I have taken Toporol with Verapamil without success...Verapamil was phased out and I started just Bystolic. Now they are thinking of Inderal, but it has more of these side effects that Bystolic. My dx just came today... Sino Atrial Node Dysfunction... of which I have started as another post.

I have been on Diovan, Diovan HCT, Exforge, Norvasc by itself, and was recently put on Bystolic. I am 6'0" and weigh 210lbs. I participate in a high energy interval cardiovascular class two or three days a week and lift weights two to three days a week. Before starting the bystolic I was Rx'd 10mg of Norvasc once a day, my bp readings were around 130/90 to 120/76, occasionally spiking as high as 145/95 and dropping to 110/70.
I am Bystolic which is a Beta-Blocker and I suffering from weakness, sleep disorders, nausea, flushed face that feels like it will explode, I am very uncomfortable. So Yes, I say Beta Blockers. He needs to talk with his doctor. And have a further workup and discuss the Beta Blocker with him. I hope things get better soon.
I found out that I have Migraine and Vertigo. I rarely have headaches, mainly dizziness and foggy feeling. I ended up going to a doctor that my ENT sent me to. It was a clinic for hearing & balance. They did an "audio VNG". It is about a 2 hour long series of tests that can narrow down the reasons for the dizziness. It will check for inner ear problems, etc. The tests are pretty intense and make you dizzy on purpose while they put goggles on your eyes that have cameras inside.
My Cadiologist Recently prescribed Bystolic 5 Mg tablets I per day . I have since begun having dizzy spells Can they be a side effect from the Bystolic?
I took Atenolol for about 4 years then another doctor changed me to Bystolic. At the onset of this diagnosis and still, I deal with constant dizziness and feelings of 'the blood going out of my body" at night...like I am dying. I went to the dr. 2 days ago and he did an echo and said heart looked good. He changed my medication to hydrochlorothazide. I slept maybe 2 hours last night ...woke with feeling of weakness running though my body, like it was just shutting down.

Can someone tell me how much pain and bleeding I can expect? And why the pain and bleeding in the morning hours? This was my first d and c. Thanks. Amethyst.
I wake up about every 1 to 2 hours with the pain, pounding heart, dizziness and sweating. I eat a granola bar and fall back asleep for a bit until I wake up with the same thing again. Mornings are horrible. When I wake up I feel dizzy, faint, hungry, and the gnawing hunger pain in my stomach. I've gained 10 pounds because I eat all the time, and I'm don't exercise anymore because of the pain and fear that I'll faint.
then they returned full force, and I tried something else but my bp/hr stayed really low and I felt miserable - tired all the time, my dizziness & fainting increased and dr's didn't know why. I told them no more meds, until a new dr suggested Inderal which helped tremendously, it's just a shorter term duration.
I take toprol xl for slightly high BP and one attack of SVT's. All is well but I'm tired alot and my resting pulse is 40 to 42 BPM. It's always been low but more around 48 to 50 BPM before I started the meds. I've always walked ,run or jogged all my life. My Dr. wants to switch me to Bystolic; something to do with better use of oxygen in the lungs. My main concern is this low BPM. Should I be worried? .
I recently stopped the flecainide and have had no significant a-fib that I can discern, although some skipped beats. I do continue to take bystolic and azor for high blood pressure. However, since discontinuing the flecanide, I have had what I would describe as a pounding heartbeat (not rapid), dizziness, and consistent blood pressure readings of 140s/50s.

I have now been referred to an ep but was just wondering if anyone else had similar issues? before i caught the virus i was very healthy. That low energy start 4 months ago (I mean being almost bedbound) and little things like taking a shower bring symptoms like high heart rate, lack of breath, dizziness, clammy hands and feet, headache, jaw pain and left arm pain, panic attacks from the high heart rate, depersonalisation feeling... Strangely I can't sweat, so can't go out when it's hot cause I feel like I will pass out with the very high pulse rate, nausea, hot head feeling, clammy hands and hot skin but no sweating...
