Hi Folks, A couple weeks ago my doctor took me off of Diltiazem and switched me to Bystolic—A ramped up dose beginning at 5mg for week one, 10mg for week two, and 20mg for week three. Week one and two were fine, but as as soon as I began the 20mg dosage two days ago I would wake up in the morning as if I had a nasty hangover. I will of course bring this to my doctor’s attention but has anyone else experienced this?
I just started on it and it's been great except that I'm having trouble with diarrhea, which appears to be from this pill. I have beent taking it right after dinner, and I'm wondering if that's my problem. I also take Micardis at bed. Then during the day Sular and Furosemide. I don't have any ideas for your morning problem, but I'd really like to know about side effects, if any from the Bystolic. It has worked so well otherwise that I sure don't want to give it up.
Hello! I took Bystolic 15 months ago for 1 week. It made me nauseas in 5 hours after first pill. At 14 hours after first pill the diarrhea started. Doctor insisted I stay on it. At 3 days I was so tired I didnot want to move, but had to, I had Diarrhea & Nauseasness. Constantly going to the bathroom for one reason or the other. Stopped after 1 week against my doctors orders. Nausea and tiredness is gone. I still have Diarrhea and it's been 15 months.
Has anyone experienced heart burn, diarrhea and fatigue from taking Bystolic 5 mg?
I take Bystolic too and I have also noticed a weight gain. I too haven't changed my eating habits. I am beginning to think it's the Bystolic because I usually can lose weight very easily, but I can't lose it now at all no matter what I do. You mentioned your systolic readings, mine do the same thing in the afternoons.
Horrible dreams, head aches/pressure, and pain in the area of my left kidney. The Dr put me on Bystolic, but it was samples and there is no information on side effects. I have started having stomach problems and acid reflux lately. Can the Bystolic be causing this? What would be other good choices?
Common side effects experienced by people taking Bystolic included headache, fatigue, dizziness, weakness and diarrhea. I have not seen any findings that others are experiencing this side effect. However if you are experiencing joint and muscle pain I would definitely urge you to contact the prescriber and discuss your symptoms. It may be more likely that the Crestor is causing the joint and muscle pain.
I want to ask my doctor to get off of Bystolic. I've only taken two pills so far and they've been the worse thing for me. Yes, my pressure has been lowered but the second time I took the pill I felt nausea, had diarrhea, was super anxious, numbness and felt out of breath. It's been almost twelve hours since my last pill (the 2nd one) and I still feel a little bit of the three side effects. Why did I react this way? Should I go to the hospital?
I am on several medications, including Percaset, Gabapentin, prilosec, Amerix, Bystolic, Celebrex, and Mirapex. The first year i was on these pills, i was constipated all the time to where i was even given a liquid to drink to flush me out. About 12 weeks ago i started having diarrhea and bad cramps tw to three days a week. I have a different doctor now and she put me on probiotics. Should i get a colonostomy?
Recent holter tests show atrial tachycardia, intolerance for activity in humidity (hard to breathe) and 279 BNP during hard to breathe episode (ER). Dr prescribed 2.5 mg Bystolic and I've felt better on it, but now (one month on it) having flutters in chest, fatigue, hard to breathe, unable to go out in humidity, some chest pressure and occasional low bp, 109/47, p 54; 87/51, p52. I get cold and start shaking . When I can't breathe I just sit until I'm better able, takes awhile.
Six weeks ago his doctor switched him to bystolic and he has had diarrhea ever since. Is this a common side effect? Is there anything we can do to stop this reaction? Should his dr. switch this drug? Is it necessary for him to be on a beta blocker when his blood pressure is o.k.? Thank you for your help.
excessive gas, bloating, burping up bile, diarrhea in the mornings and increased bowel movements. I also suffer from anxiety. When I start getting the hunger feeling I worry that my blood sugar is low and that sends me into an anxiety attack. The pain also sends me into an anxiety attack because it hurts so bad and I don't know what's going on. The lack of sleep, no exercise, weight gain, constant eating, and inability to go out are ruining my life and making my anxiety worse.
I have been suffering from episodes of pain and discomfort in the epi-gastric area. It feels like I am going to have a heart attack, it is a pressure/discomfort in upper abdomen and back between shoulder blades with palpitations and difficulty getting a deep breath. It seems to come on as an "attack". I find that it happens most during my walks for exercise, when bending over, before or after meals, and also before bowel movements.
- I drink caffeine frequently - I am on bystolic for hypertension - I have severe acid reflux and am on prescription meds for it - I am far too heavy for my age and height (240 lbs, 5'10 at 28 yrs) - I suffered from ear infections frequently as a child This seems to be an undiagnosed condition, since every person here seems to have stories about their doctors either dismissing this drumming sensation or being completely unable to help.
I have been on Pristiq for 3 yrs, all of a sudden the nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, lots of diarrhea, fatigue, lost 49 lbs, insomnia, irritability, vertigo, terrible dreams, and horrible anixiety, can't function, I don't no if its the side effects from the medication or what to do, I am on, exforge, estradiol, edecrin, clopidogrel, tramadol, dexilant, bystolic, drug infusion-prialt, heart pace maker and defirillator, spriva, advair. is there anyway u can help me to function like a normal person.
Yesterday I could not cope with the pains and the bleeding anymore and I decided to call the ob/gyn. I went to her office and she did an ultrasound. It happens to be that my endometrium is still thick after the D&C. After deliberating with another collegue she decided that I have to wait and see if my own body is going to get rid of the thick endometrium. Has anyone here have any experience with this? I have to mention that I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2004. Never got pregnant.
I have been to about 30 doctors- including ENT's allergists, neurologists, chiropracters, opthamologists. psychologists, dentists and everything else u can think of. All CT scans, MRI of brain and blood work keep coming back clean and ok. Nothing I try seems to work. There was a period of time about 3 and a half years ago that the symptoms lifted for about 4 months and then it returned full force.
I can't get out of bed in the night and must use a bed pan. The best I have ever used for Tachy was Bystolic 2.5 mg 2x's a day, but then for some odd reason that the doctor's could never figure out was sending my BP through the roof 168/115 range. I never had problems with my blood pressure being high before Bystolic...never had had problems with blood pressure going low before Toprol... Go figure!
I also have tachycardia (now on Bystolic), and suspect some type of heart involvement. I had several blood counts that came back abnormal. One had "atypical reactive lymphocytes". Others have had high eosinophil counts and/or too-small red blood cells. But the problems don't end with the abdominal and thoracic organs. I have skin rashes and psoriasis. I have thickened skin on the tops of my toes, the soles of my feet, and on my elbows.
I am very sad and very anxious. I have an anxiety disorder since 2004. I do not like funerals and I do not know if can get through this. The funeral will take place this saturday. In may 2009 I was diagnosed with mild MVP with mild MR. The Holter test showed 187 PVC, 22 couplets, 2 episodes of VT and 31 PACS. The cardiologist put me on a beta blocker, Nebivolol (Bystolic), 2.5 mg daily for the tachycardia. Since taking the med I noticed that I was getting more PVC's than usual.
i rushed to the office happen to be close to where i work. the doctor suggested lisinoprl 10 mg and bystolic and suggested to see cardiologist he changed the medicine to lisinopril 20 mg for a while it was ok after 4 months i am having same feeling like heat coming out of my face and bp increases from 9 am to 5 pm in the range of 165/90 and varies early in the morning and at night is in control 125/75/52 so i am trying to find out why its hapening.
Today I panicked and called the paramedics who came and did a 12 lead and they said normal sinus with one ectopic and so I didn't go back to the ER. I had a normal echo 3 years ago. I already don't eat caffeine or sugar. Please reassure or sympathize with me. I'm going insane and have no idea what's causing this out of the blue. Why would they suddenly increase for no reason whatsoever?
Since I've been here reading the forum tonight, I've had about eight of them, and I'm certainly under no stress, and my heart rate is around 60. At night when I first lay down, I get a few of them if I am on my left side initially. Which is no problem, since I read at night and I'm on my right side when doing so. After about two minutes on my right, I can turn left without issue, so I guess it's just my circulation adapting to a different position.
