Ask about getting Byetta. I had the same problem with metformin. The byetta has controlled my blood sugars and my pcos.
replace the drugs with natural non-toxic alternatives 4. increase cholesterol to protect the brain. 5. monitor sugars for Insulin resistance and remove Byetta if possible 6. Monitor HGH closely so as not to aggravate IR. I have been on Glucophage and Glipezide. At one point last year I was put on Byetta but it only made me nauseous and quit after 28 days. My PCP, who also has diabetes, has tried to help with my crazy high sugars (last A1C was 10.6) but the last few years have gone to one endo MD after another...the last one spent under 10 mins with me. I am tired of being treated like white trash and going away feeling more down than when I went in.
I would just like to know if anyone has lost weight or has had any side effects while taking this medication. I was on Byetta but the nausea never stopped and I felt bad all of the time. I took my first dose this morning of Victoza and so far there has been no nausea--I just hope it lasts. Any comments on this medication would greatly be appreciated.
There are many posts on this forum that you can read, as well as, speaking with your Physician regarding the alternatives. To answer your question in a single statement however, Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is a peptide hormone produced in pregnancy.
thanks, say didn't you say you were taking some HR recommended things for IR. which ones are you taking for that? I'm looking at all alternatives now. My doc recommended I go on Byetta if the BS goes back up, but it's expensive, and shots and monitoring...yuk. So that wouldn;t be my first choice, although he seems to think it's safer for the liver.
