Avatar m tn both of ours symptoms get resolved if we take antihistamine like cetrizine + montelukast. But if we take fluticasone nasal spray, there is no improvement at all even after month..both of us get no relief from nasal sprays...even tried metaspray (mometasone). What is the reason behind this?? Is it genetics? Or the corticosteroid is not getting absorbed? Or its getting absorbed but not producing result.
Avatar f tn i know that you are not supposed to use afrin nasal spray for more than three days in a row, because it causes serious rebound congestion. however, i have been using it for about two or so months just about everyday. i have been using it as directed (2-3 sprays in each nostril every 12 hours). sometime when i use it (like just a few minutes ago) i get really dizzy and feel tired about 10 minutes after using it. is that a side affect of this nasal spray?
Avatar n tn Thanks for replying, I've just been prescribed a decongestant and a nasal spray for the mucus. It was the acid I was worried about. I didn't realise mucus could cause the acid to flare up like that.
Avatar f tn Yes it it safe I had a cold and the doctors still recommend nasal spray for me!
Avatar f tn The only thing that allows me to breathe is a nasal spray equivalent to afrin. I used to be addicted yrs ago but now I only use it in dire emergency....like before eating or bed because I can't sleep if I can't breathe through my nose. In the past 3 days I've only used it at night and a couple other times during the day when it was really bad! I try to hold off as long as possible without using it. And I only use 1 or 2 sprays and usually only in 1 nostril.
Avatar f tn If it's,allergies you could take benadryl. That helps me when im sick and stuffy.
Avatar n tn I just read a terrifying article about pregnant women using nasal spray in their first 3 months of pregnancy. It said it cause heart and stomach defects. I used it off and on almost my entire first 6 weeks before I found out I was pregnant. Anybody else out there know anything?
Avatar m tn Then go and get the nasal spray naltrexone, used for heroin overdoses. In the USA you can buy this without prescription. Spray it in your nostrils. It blocks endorphins which are similar substances that cause the blood to release from your hard penis. Years ago, when working in a hospital, I can tell you that shooting up with narcan to maintain an erection was quite common. Shhhhh. In those days there was no nasal spray. It has a short half-life though.
Avatar f tn my nose is blocked and all that can help me at the moment is the nasal spray Sudafed. My doctor said better not to use sudafed, but to take paracetamol instead. paracetamol doesn't unblock my nose though. what are your thoughts on this? have u some other advices? i'm miserable! :( Thank you!!
Avatar m tn Hello littleskittl, May I suggest making an appointment with your family doctor. I have nasal congestion sometimes. I used to use " Dristan" from time to time, but I've heard over using Dristan can cause problems too. Now, I use an over the counter product. It's a nasal spray. It has a dolphin on the box . Can't remember the name of it. I'm out of it right now, either wise I would tell you the name. I am actually going to buy some today.
Avatar n tn I take claritin once daily, delsum cough medicine, benadryl at night, for the pressure in my ear I plug my nose and mouth and blow air until I hear and feel a mild POP or use steam for nasal problems, I use saline non medicated nasal spray and gargle salt water, I'm gonna buy a humidifier to help too.
Avatar f tn They sell just regular saline nasal spray at the drug store, its nothing but sterile salt water..
Avatar f tn Try a humidifier and/or saline nasal spray. The congestion will last for hopefully only a few weeks at best, but nothing to prevent. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn The way I got rid of using nasal spray is to dilute the nasal spray 10% per week by using water or salt water. Continue use the diluted nasal spray, your nose will not noticed the difference. by the time (after 8 weeks) you get to 80% water, then you can cut it all off. There is a company sale this kind of diluted nasal spray solutions, but you can easily open the bottle and mix it with water yourself.
579469 tn?1311705550 s absolutely no high when using nose spray. What you get is clear wide-open nasal passages. Nasal spray is a God-send when you have a bad cold or allergies and you can't breathe. The directions say only use 3-4 days or so. Beyond that you start to develop a physical addiction. This means that abrupt cessation results in your nasal passages swelling shut for up to 4 - 8 days or so with virtually no relief until they open back up naturally again, i.e.
Avatar f tn My doc told me to use a nasal saline spray. I'm going to buy some today because my hubby claims he can't sleep at night because i snore so much because i can't breath through my nose. Lol!
Avatar n tn My doctor has me taking the Hcg nasal spray, instead of the Hcg shots. Have any of you used the Hcg nasal spray? Should I have any concerns? Oh, and any advice before I start? Thanks and have a great day!
Avatar n tn It works by constricting (shrinking) blood vessels (veins and arteries) in your body. The nasal formulation acts directly on the blood vessels in your nasal tissues. Constriction of the blood vessels in your nose and sinuses leads to drainage of these areas and a decrease in congestion. One of its side effect may be elevation of blood pressure and an irregular or fast heartbeat.
