Common Questions and Answers about Bupropion norepinephrine

wellbutrin

Avatar f tn Does anyone have experience with taking Bupropion (Wellbutrin) to help with no longer using 30 mg Roxicet?
Avatar m tn I think the drug you seek is Wellbutrin aka Bupropion which is an atypical antidepressant that acts as a norepinephrine and dopamine reuptake inhibitor, and nicotinic antagonist. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bupropion for more info ion this drug.
Avatar f tn A common approach to this problem would be to add more norepinephrine activity either by switching to a medicine like Cymbalta (duloxetine) or Effexor (venlafaxine) or by adding a small dose of Wellbutrin (bupropion) to the Prozac. Increased norepinephrine activity should enhance motivation and focus. An alternative approach might be to try reducing slightly the dose of the Prozac... the apathy inducing effect of Prozac and other medications like it definitely seems to be dose related...
5986700 tn?1380791380 It's possible that the opiates or earlier, the alcohol, was masking an anxiety reaction to the Med. How long have you been on the Bupropion & when did you start experiencing the anxiety? Discontinuing an SSRI & switching to W (if it doesn't work for you) might also cause this. (I had a friend that that happened to). Have you told your Dr. ?
Avatar f tn an action that results in more dopamine, serotonin, and norepinephrine to transmit messages to other nerves. Bupropion is unique and unlike other antidepressants in that its major effect is on dopamine, an effect that is not shared.
479459 tn?1246742019 It acts as an antagonist to the CB1 and 2 receptors, and not only aids in cannabis WD and cravings, but it’s actions have shown great promise with opioid and even cocaine WD and cravings. An option, a mild SSRI and bupropion an NDRI, help with depleted serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine, during weaning and WD’s, that results in brain zaps. Do a low morning dose of bupropion, to avoid additional insomnia, and the SSRI at night.
Avatar n tn actually i have a question about this, my husband is on this medication bupropion, he wants to know before he starts taking C4 sports work out, that says doesn't have anything bad in it. if it's going to mess with his meds? or should he not take it, if he does take the c4 will effect his meds....he only wants to take it for the next 28 days because he is going out hunting soon and wants to be prepared for the hiking, but isn't going to take the C4 after the 28 days.
Avatar n tn Bupropion (Wellbutrin) is a NDRI (norepinephrine-dopamine reuptake Inhibitor). Reuptake Inhibitors are thought to block the reabsorption (reuptake) of the targeted neurotransmitter by certain nerve cells in the brain. This theoretically leaves more of the neurotransmitter in the brain. If you have low levels of neurotransmitters to begin with these medications either will not work well or work for a while then stop working.
20003388 tn?1515166040 Every time I try a medication that has a reuptake effect on norepeneprhine I get this mild burning sensation on the left side of my chest. So far I have had this happen with Atomoxetine, Venlafaxine, Bupropion and now Nortrypytiline. It isn't anxiety, a panic attack or heartburn, just a dull, moderately uncomfortable, burning sensation. I'm fine with all the SSRI's and medications like Rexulti. It's just the ones that affect NE.
Avatar n tn My doctor swiched me from Paxil to Bupropion Sr. last week and He said that thier was no need to ween myself off of the Paxil. So I started the Bupropion Sr at 150mg once a day for 4 days and then was to go on to two a day, Well since I started the drug. I have been very dizzy and if I move my head to fast I feel like a jolt in my vision. I told my doctor and he suggested to stay on the one a day for another week. I also have lost a pound a day since starting the drug.
Avatar m tn Many of the problems you describe relate to an apparent deficiency of norepinephrine activity... Looking over your medications I see that you are not taking any medicines that boost norepinephrine. You may want to discuss with your doctor switching from Luvox to duloxetine (Cymbalta) or venlafaxine (Effexor) (which would add some norepinephrine activity to the serotonin activity of Luvox)... you could also add another medication like modafanil (Provigil) or bupropion (Wellbutrin).
Avatar f tn Is anyone getting ringing in the ears from taking Generic Wellbutrin(Bupropion sr ) 150 mg. Here is my situation I have been on amitriptiline 25 mg 4 years then went up to 50 mg for 3 years. I started taking only one 150 mg of bupropion sr this is my 5 day. Can I stop taking the amitriptiline with no withdrawls after only 5 days of Bupropion? or has it not been long enough. I hoping that I can stop the amitriptiline by taking the bupropion sr in place of the amitriptiline.
Avatar f tn I am suffering from I believe depression I have problems sleeping this has recently started wierd thoughts and its very disturbing, I feel said and hopeless my doctor put me on Bupropion and I felt better the first day the next day I eel over active different? Have any one taken Bupropion and whats your reactions?
Avatar f tn My husband has been taking Bupropion HSL SR 150mg for a few months and it doesn't seem to be working as well as the Bupropion XL 150mg he was taking for a few years before he was switched because, the pharmacy said, they could not get the Bupropion XL 150mg at that time. My husband has dementia. He takes the Bupropion in the morning along with his Aricept and Exforge (for blood pressure). He gets drowsy right after taking his pills and I think it may be the Bupropion HSL SR causing this.
Avatar f tn I'm currently on 300 bupropion, along with topamax 100 and still have had no weight losse. I just started the 300 bupropion after being on 150 last week and have already had crying spells but this was the week of my period so I was thinking I just could be "emotional". Before I was on Zoloft 25-150 bupropion but I ate to much on it, I'm hoping for weight loss but every antidepressant I take makes me eat what to do I do??
Avatar m tn It is possible that bupropion (Wellbutrin) may cause your symptoms of tremors and joint pain. Please contact your provider and pharmacist to report the adverse effects and have them confirm by conducting a complete medication review, including prescription, over-the-counter, and any dietary and herbal supplements. Some of the common side effects of bupropion are headaches (26%, compare to 23% of placebo), dry mouth (17%, compare to 7% of placebo), insomnia (11%, compare to 6% of placebo).
Avatar f tn My doctor has decided that Depression is the cause of my anxiety, and has upped my bupropion to 450 mg a day until the tremors and shaking started, then he lowered me back down to 300. Now I have feel angry or like crying all the time. An explotion can come at anytime, but because the depression was better at 450 mg a day he wants to combine atenolol with it to fight the side effects. I don't like the side effects of either one of these drugs.
Avatar m tn I was prescribed 300 mg xl of bupropion for anxiety that comes from a neurlogical problem in my eyes called Nystagmus. I think side effects of bupropion cause blurred vision and problems with one eye not moving in conjunction with the other which is horrible in addition to Nystagmus. I've lived with this because I was told bupropion is the least likeliest of pills to cause sexual disfunction. Is this true?
Avatar m tn I have to go off of Cymbalta because of side effects. The norepinephrine part was helping tremendously. Any way to help get the good stuff naturally. I would wake at a regular time like clock work. I had a sense of cognitive clarity that I did not have on Celexa.
