wellbutrin

Avatar f tn My doctor then prescribed me Bupropion HCL (take twice a day). He says that should help with weight loss. Has anyone had good experiences with Bupropion? Did you gain weight on Citalopram? Thanks!!!
Avatar f tn m angry that he has put me on atenolol to counteract the side effects of bupropion. What is going to fight the side effects of the atenolol? I do not want to be a walking pharmacy.
Avatar m tn I've been taking wellbutrin (bupropion hcl) at 75MG three times a day for a little over a month and a half and now I've been told to stop taking it and was prescribed Amitriptyline once before bed. My question is if it's safe to just stop taking wellbutrin or if I should gradually come off it? I'd also like to know if there are any risks with mixing these two?
Avatar n tn I had one at the beginning of month (it is regulated by birth control) and after 2 days of being on the new bupropion... I am having what seems to be another period?? Are re-having the side effects of the same drug normal??? Would the drug mess with my cycle?? even though the previous one never did? and it is supposed to be the same thing?
Avatar m tn I was prescribed 300 mg xl of bupropion for anxiety that comes from a neurlogical problem in my eyes called Nystagmus. I think side effects of bupropion cause blurred vision and problems with one eye not moving in conjunction with the other which is horrible in addition to Nystagmus. I've lived with this because I was told bupropion is the least likeliest of pills to cause sexual disfunction. Is this true?
Avatar f tn I have also been on Paroxetine HCL 40 mg one tablet a day for a long time. I also take bupropion hcl xl 300 one tablet a day. I still have a short temper and major stress headaches. But probably the worst part, my marriage is greatly affected because I don't want to leave the house. I don't even care if I take a shower or eat.
Avatar m tn I was wondering if there was an alternative to this medication without blurred vision or sexual side effects. While it is reported that Bupropion is the least likely anti depressant to cause sexual side effects, in my case it does. (On a side note I was taking gabapentin for my Nystagmus earlier in the year, and experienced a decrease in vision, hard time converging.) Gabapentin was said to help people with Nystagmus but the doctor's suspected the bupropion may have played a part in this.
Avatar f tn Has your doctor ruled out other causes for the sweating? Both these medications carry "sweating" as a side effect. Is it your GP prescribing this or a psychiatrist? Psychiatrists are most knowlegeable when it comes to these types of medications, and what is best for you. I would ask your doctor "why" he feels Bupropion is a better choice and go from there. It may be that the incidents reported of sweating with the Bupropion is lower than the Citolopram.
Avatar f tn So now i went back on my old anti depressant bupropion 150mg never had any side effects before...now i started having the flushing i had when i took the zoloft. So miserable. Anyways im gonna stop these anti depressants and try some natural stuff.

I am alllergic to Penasylin, tetrocycoline, decadron, dyphahidromine, and benedril. My other meds I take are: zolof, welbrutrin, seroquel xr, gabapentine, tizanidine hcl and pravastatin sodium----will there be any adverse reactions to any of these meds?
Avatar f tn Hi Rebecca - I was on Celexa for about 8 months and I agree it is a good medicine. I, too, was worried about the sexual side effects of it. My doctor put me on 30 mg for about 7 days for it to build up in my system in hopes the side effects wouldn't be as bad. He then upped me to 60 mg. Definitely the sexual side effects can be frustrating especially since the med makes you feel so much better. With me the Celexa just killed my libido and had no desire for anything.
Avatar f tn My husband has been taking Bupropion HSL SR 150mg for a few months and it doesn't seem to be working as well as the Bupropion XL 150mg he was taking for a few years before he was switched because, the pharmacy said, they could not get the Bupropion XL 150mg at that time. My husband has dementia. He takes the Bupropion in the morning along with his Aricept and Exforge (for blood pressure). He gets drowsy right after taking his pills and I think it may be the Bupropion HSL SR causing this.
Avatar n tn But it seems to be transferring this negative energy in other ways (though I prefer these side effects over how I used to feel...
Avatar f tn I did go online since I posted and found that one of the side effects of bupropion is high blood pressure. I called Wellbutrin Co. and they confirmed that, but said it should go away in time. It has gone down somwhat but still not as low as it was, so I am just waiting and monitoring. Thanks for your input.
Avatar f tn Insomnia and pins and needles are both listed side effects of bupropion.
Avatar n tn If anyone has tried immediate-release, could you share your experience with me? Did it work okay (gave you energy and focus)? Did you feel the side effects (anxiety, irritability, etc) were worse than XL or SR? Did your mood sink when it started to wear off?
20632981 tn?1503687567 It also allows you to see if any problems you get are withdrawal effects or side effects of whatever new drug you use. If I were you, and that's easy for me to say from my safe distance, I'd taper off the Zoloft and see if you still have any hormonal dysfunction. As I said, it's very possible this problem took care of itself as you aged.
Avatar f tn All of these drugs come with many side effects -- some suffer more, some less, but all drugs have side effects. They are very powerful and alter the way the body functions naturally, so naturally they throw some things out of balance. How much depends on the person. General docs just don't know this stuff that well as they don't receive specialized training in it.
Avatar n tn My husband das been diagnosed with depression and anxiety had been taking Effexor XR 75mgs or about 1 year however the side effects ie weight gain tiredness and loss of libido was troubling him. The switched to cymbaltor, due to high costs (even with insurance) of this medication is wanting to switch to somethig that is less expensive and that has a generic available. What about Wellbutrin or do you have any other suggeations?
Avatar m tn For instance-time released bupropion ruined my life for a while but changing to immediate release bupropion did not have the negative side-effects. Also, using fluticasone (Flonase) more than a few days at a time exacerbates my depression/suicidality. Bottom line: be careful and take notes of how your body responds to meds.
Avatar f tn I have been off my meds because i ran out of refills for 21 days now (i used to take 10mg aripiprazole, 80mg duloxotine, and bupropion HCL XL 300mg.) i dont know if that would effect my period but it’s worth a shot putting it out there. I feel as though something is really wrong but I cannot afford a doctor/emergency care because i have no insurance or income. Has anyone been in a similar situation? Does anyone know what’s happening with my body?
Avatar m tn So I have been taking Paroxetine(Paxil) for 4 months now and it changed my life, took away my O.C.D. and my social anxiety. But i had side effects so i started taking Bupropion(wellbutrin) So after 1 days dose which was 1 pill twice a day, I had my O.C.D. back about half as bad and my social axiety came back about half as bad. So i stopped taking the Bupropion and i am still taking the Paroxetine but it's not working as well as it did before.
Avatar f tn As most people taking anti depressants would say it takes 1-2 months to get the benefits and also putting up with possible side effects. I personally had the side effects of extreme tiredness/ lethargy, lack of motivation and slight Nausea. After four weeks I still get anxiety but I'm more in control and it doesn't go 'so deep'. My doctor has recently increased my dose to 100mg and only feeling ok but still have to tiredness.
