You can obtain these medications from a family doctor without the need for a psychiatrist so is it the cost of the medication? All three are generic so they should not be too high in cost. Have you discussed stopping your meds with your family doctor? Please give me a little more info so that I have a level of confidence that you will be OK without these medications.

Zyban (bupropion, similar to wellbutrin) or Effexor (Veniafaxine)...not leaning towards this one...Of course I would perfer to chose from these 3 do to cost...I did find an interesting article on hepc and AD's http://www.psychiatrictimes.com/showArticle.jhtml?articleId=163101866 please keep the opinions coming..Just feel pretty blaaaa, no motivation, high fatigue, etc..Figured maybe I'd give a shot and see if they help...
Switching back to Wellbutrin xl brand name resolved the problem within a few days. As for cost, I suggest you do a search for a Wellbutrin xl voucher. My insurance company charges a higher copay for the name brand, but I am currently paying less for the name brand than my usual co-pay for non-premium drugs.
Anyone try Wellbutrin (active ingredient bupropion)? He also mentioned Efflexor as another option. The ADs I'm familiar with are the SSRI's like Prosac, Zoloft, Lexipro, etc. They seem to be more popular here.want. Therapist is very open in terms of what I can take. Has anyone tried both SSRI's and SSNI's like Wellbutrin? What is the difference? Any info is appreciated regarding any ADs you may be familiar with. What to expect? How long they take to kick in? Any side effects?

I get samples of Zoloft now, he dosnt carry samples of Effexor, and I sure do wish that he did...

Others have said it went away eventually without anything worse happening. The body does an amazing job of repairing itself, and there is evidence nerves are able to recover more than was ever thought possible. My personal hypothesis is that stress caused a little nerve damage by either: A. more muscle tension in my back, compressing my main nerve OR B. lots of "stress" chemicals in the blood for a long period of time - known to hurt nerves.
I took the first dose the day of my appointment, and the next day I woke up thankfully without a migrain, but to my suprise without any backpain. I had researched the drug before taking it and didn't see anything about pain, so I went on the internet and finally found some information regarding Topamax being used for neuropathic pain, simularly to Neurontin. Well needless to say I'm thrilled.
But after I went off the drug and went to a natural regimen, found that my body would not allow me to lose any substantial amount of weight without gaining it back. I carried this weight for 15 years. Two years ago, I was seeking help in the summer as I was having difficulties with my SAD cycle. New research had been released at that time linking the weight problems to SAD. So my doctor put me on Topamax, which is also used as a mood stabilizer, to help release the lock on the weight.
EVERY OTHER DAY AND THAT WAS TORTURE TO MY BODY, I AM FEELING SCARED THAT I AM NOT GOING TO BE ABLE TO GET OFF IT without AT LEAST A WEEK OF PUTTING MY BODY THROUGH HELL. I THINK MY WEIGHT WILL RETURN TO NORMAL AFTER I'M OFF THEM COMLETLY. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!
