wellbutrin

Avatar f tn the more I read ,...the more I see that these meds are used to treat bipolar disorder....I am starting to suspect that I am not getting the right diagnosis or that the psychiatrists are not telling me everything. I would rather know what is going on. Is anyone who has major depressive disorder being treated with these meds also? Anyone out there with bipolar disorder and being treated with these meds?
Avatar f tn //www.drugs.com/pro/wellbutrin.html To make sure Wellbutrin is safe for you, tell your doctor if you have: a history of head injury, seizures, or brain or spinal cord tumor; heart disease, high blood pressure, history of heart attack; kidney or liver disease (especially cirrhosis); or bipolar disorder (manic depression). http://www.drugs.com/wellbutrin.
Avatar m tn Was it for depression or bipolar or schizophrenia? Unfortunately, while those medications do often work well for the disorder, they do often have sexual side effects. Not for everyone but that doesn't matter since it happened to you. Have you talked to your doctor about it? You could talk to your psychiatrist that prescribed them or your primary care doctor both. I'm sure this is really frustrating. What's hard to understand here though is the drug is long gone from your system.
4100850 tn?1351212549 BPD can explain many of the things people do ( anger outbursts, relationship issues) not better explained by bipolar disorder. Therapy is wonderful for understanding BPD and there are medications as resperidone or Abilify. Both are also good for bipolar disorder.
1571730 tn?1314725245 Wellbutrin is the anti-depressent least likely to cause mood changes in a person with bipolar but if a person has bipolar a full mood stabilizer is what is needed but only a psychiatrist can make that decision but if you have full mood swings that involve mania as well as depression it would be essential to discuss that with your psychiatrist. You can also print out the results of the mood tracker so they can see what is happening on a daily basis.
Avatar f tn Other medical/psychiatric conditions I have are hypothyroidism and bi-polar disorder/depression for which I take levothyroxine (Synthroid), divalproex (Depakote) and bupropion (Welbutrin). The medication information for the Medrol dose-pack states cautious use in those with hypothyroidism, psychiatric history, being treated with an anti-convulsant, and on bupropion, as it could produce mood changes and affect the seizure threshold.
Avatar n tn I have been a clinical depressive since the age of 9 and was diagnosed with atypical depressive ( which I believe refers to the anxiety disorder). Wellbutrin worked well for me but at that time I was on Celexa. For some reason, Cymbalta caused bad side effects ( blood pressure dropping real low...nausea), so that is when I was put on Zoloft ( 50 mg ) about a year ago and slowly increased to my present dose.
1190847 tn?1287363025 One of my sisters has major depressive disorder, and another has rapid cycling type II bipolar. The three of us have different fathers. So, a week before I start my period I self-mutilate, have crying fits, tics, delusions, suicidal thoughts, and paranoia. I don't hallucinate anymore and these symptoms last but three hours at most. I take 20 mg Citalopram (for panic attacks) and 150 mg Bupropion (for depression). Neither properly treats my symptoms. I feel better when I exercise, though.
Avatar m tn Finally looked on line just in case it could be connected to the bupropion and yes it is. I could cope with that as a trade off. The Drug has done wonders when it was added to Effexor and Lexapro for severe Bipolar depression. It had taken me 3 years to get rebalanced and the Bupropion was what finally made the difference. I kept asking people if I was looking older and older, they couldn't tell. I'm not vain but I feel so ugly that I hate meeting new people.
Avatar f tn I read that there was a 10-50% chance my son will inherit bipolar disorder. Is anyone else having a baby with someone who has bipolar disorder and know how common it is to be inherited?
Avatar f tn does anyone here have bipolar disorder ? I want to communicate with any Egyptian having the same illness that I have , I want to make a group about Egyptian bipolar disorders in Egypt online to help myself and others , can anyone advice me ? anyone has an idea or can share his experience ?
Avatar m tn I've been on bupropion xl 300mg for 7 years and it has truly changed my life. I used to have very severe Seasonal Affective Disorder and social anxiety, both of which have been all but cured with the medication. However, I have also struggled with ADD my entire life and now, finally, at 44, I have sought treatment for that as well. I was prescribed methylphenidate ER-LA 20mg. I am trying to determine the best strategy for taking these pills.
186166 tn?1385259382 daughter in law is bipolar...some say schizoid affective disorder because of the severe irrational thoughts and occasional voices. has been hospitalized 5 times in the past 2 years to get her manias under control. she is on quite the cocktail of drugs...but her anxiety was still out of whack...or so she says. reason i say that is because she is also an addict and finally convinced her dr to give her xanax...
Avatar m tn Bipolar I requires a full manic or mixed episode. Bipolar II requires at least one full depressive episode and at least one hypomanic episode, with no full manic or mixed episodes.
Avatar n tn is it safe to marry someone with bipolar disorder even when the person is on medication? what are the risks? or is it safe? What Should I be doing?
4100850 tn?1351212549 its 8 am woke up with a headache like always. i have a pinched nerve so im in alot of pain im agoraphobic bipolar and have social anxiety like theres no tomorrow. i just wish ss would help me.
Avatar f tn My new doctor thinks I've been misdiagnosed for depression/anxiety. He says this based on everything I described to him and because general SSRI's just cause me more problems than good (high anxiety and side effects). He says I'm not BiPolar, but that I have a mood disorder, on the BiPolar Spectrum... maybe unipolar. He says he does not know exactly what kind of mood disorder yet, just that I have one. So he's trying me out on Lamictal.
Avatar f tn There is a depression forum. You sound as if you're truly bipolar, as opposed to one of the new-fangled and phony bipolar characterizations, such as bipolar 2 and the like. If you're truly bipolar, there is no cure we know of. There are psychiatrists who treat the whole person and will check for other possible problems, such as hormonal problems and sugar imbalances, but they tend to be expensive and not affiliated with insurance companies. Some call themselves functional physicians.
Avatar f tn He was lovely, he spoke to me and diagnosed me with Bipolar disorder and referred me to the recovery team, he gave me blood forms and ecg forms before any mood stabilisers were given.
Avatar f tn Anxiety can be a symptom of bipolar disorder. This was recognized by the fellow who originally described bipolar disorder as such, Dr. Emil Kraepelin, back in 1921. He described "anxious mania", and also "excited depression", which included a "great restlessness". He specifically named anxiety as one of the components of this illness. All that requires saying, because "anxiety" is not generally regarded as a bipolar symptom.
Avatar f tn Can someone with bipolar disorder/schiophenia ever live a normal life? My brother tried to end his life and his family say they are never taking in home again. Will be ever get better and did it happen because he went off his medicine.
1055770 tn?1254235776 From what I understand Bipolar Disorder's mood swings and phases can cause things like this such as when you're manic and angry you might be impulsive and act on your anger in ways without even thinking about it. As for predicting things, I don't know maybe you're just getting lucky or the spirit of Nostradamus is possessing you or something.
