the more I read ,...the more I see that these meds are used to treat bipolar disorder....I am starting to suspect that I am not getting the right diagnosis or that the psychiatrists are not telling me everything. I would rather know what is going on. Is anyone who has major depressive disorder being treated with these meds also? Anyone out there with bipolar disorder and being treated with these meds?
Finally looked on line just in case it could be connected to the bupropion and yes it is. I could cope with that as a trade off. The Drug has done wonders when it was added to Effexor and Lexapro for severe Bipolar depression. It had taken me 3 years to get rebalanced and the Bupropion was what finally made the difference. I kept asking people if I was looking older and older, they couldn't tell. I'm not vain but I feel so ugly that I hate meeting new people.
Was it for depression or bipolar or schizophrenia? Unfortunately, while those medications do often work well for the disorder, they do often have sexual side effects. Not for everyone but that doesn't matter since it happened to you. Have you talked to your doctor about it? You could talk to your psychiatrist that prescribed them or your primary care doctor both. I'm sure this is really frustrating. What's hard to understand here though is the drug is long gone from your system.
Is anyone getting ringing in the ears from taking Generic Wellbutrin(Bupropion sr ) 150 mg. Here is my situation I have been on amitriptiline 25 mg 4 years then went up to 50 mg for 3 years. I started taking only one 150 mg of bupropion sr this is my 5 day. Can I stop taking the amitriptiline with no withdrawls after only 5 days of Bupropion? or has it not been long enough. I hoping that I can stop the amitriptiline by taking the bupropion sr in place of the amitriptiline.
I am suffering from I believe depression I have problems sleeping this has recently started wierd thoughts and its very disturbing, I feel said and hopeless my doctor put me on Bupropion and I felt better the first day the next day I eel over active different? My husband has been taking Bupropion HSL SR 150mg for a few months and it doesn't seem to be working as well as the Bupropion XL 150mg he was taking for a few years before he was switched because, the pharmacy said, they could not get the Bupropion XL 150mg at that time. My husband has dementia. He takes the Bupropion in the morning along with his Aricept and Exforge (for blood pressure). My doctor has decided that Depression is the cause of my anxiety, and has upped my bupropion to 450 mg a day until the tremors and shaking started, then he lowered me back down to 300. Now I have feel angry or like crying all the time. An explotion can come at anytime, but because the depression was better at 450 mg a day he wants to combine atenolol with it to fight the side effects. I am on 100 mg of bupropion and was feeling a little anxious. Before taking bupropion, when I felt a little anxious my roommate would give me one of his ativan's, but a full 0.5 would make me sleepy…so I cut it down to 0.25 which worked nicely. I've been on Bupropion for 6 years. I went from 200mgs up to 400. My NPP said it would have the least sexual problems. Well that's not really true. I told her I can't achieve an erection. But flaccid I can ejaculate. I seen my new NPP. She recommended taking Zoloft for my PTSD. Well everything went well, but now it takes me forever to ejaculate. I can masturbate at least 20 minutes and will finally ejaculate. Does anyone have a suggestion as to quicken my time to ejaculate?
