Avatar f tn I'm currently on 300 bupropion/100 topamax for migraines. I don't like the bupropion as much as Zoloft but had to stop it bc I ate so much on the Zoloft. Is there anything someone could recommend to make me loose weight along with taking Zoloft?
Avatar f tn I'm currently on 300 bupropion, along with topamax 100 and still have had no weight losse. I just started the 300 bupropion after being on 150 last week and have already had crying spells but this was the week of my period so I was thinking I just could be "emotional". Before I was on Zoloft 25-150 bupropion but I ate to much on it, I'm hoping for weight loss but every antidepressant I take makes me eat what to do I do??
Avatar f tn Did you try tapering up slowly to your old dose? Not that trying natural stuff is a bad idea, but it's hard to do correctly and as with anything else takes a lot of work and there's no guarantee it'll work. But if you're interested, a good book is Natural Highs by Hyla Cass, a psychiatrist at UCLA who uses natural medicine in her practice.
Avatar f tn I have been on a 300 mg dose of Bupropion XL for about a half year now. I also am on a 100 dose of Zoloft. I was originally on only Zoloft but it wasn't working well so I got put on Bupropion XL which worked. I take Trazidone when needed for my sleeping issues. I never had any side affects from it until recently. I've noticed that in the past month I would get nausea after I take Bupropion, as well as feeling jittery and tense.
1305597 tn?1275336446 Another medication that is sometimes added to SSRI in the treatment of depression is bupropion (welbutrin) and it has even been shown to cause a small weight loss over the first few months (it suppresses the appetite). However, if the eating disorder you are is either anorexia or bulimia this is not an option because during clinical trails bupropion caused a slightly increased rate of new seizures in those two eating disorders.
Plant Hi! If you were my patient, I would advise you that there shouldn't be any contraindication to taking Ibuprofen, Acetominophen or Aleve with those two medications. Hope that helps!
Avatar n tn Are you sure it was Zoloft and not Zyban? I was prescribed Zyban to help me quit smoking and it worked very well. Its generic name is Wellbutrin, which is an anti-depressant, but a side effect of it is that it decreases the need or craving for nicoteen.
Avatar f tn I have also tried Paxil, Celexa and Zoloft and they all made me feel lethargic, sleepy and in the mood for nothing. Yes, bupropion makes it hard for me to sleep and makes me slightly edgy, but I get the energy and the feelings of motivation. it's really different for everybody. I don't get the tremors etc, though.
Avatar m tn Yes unfortunately antidepressants are often related to weight gain. Sounds like you got it right with Prozac because Prozac and Zoloft are two antidepressant that are supposed to have the less impact on your weight.
Avatar f tn when taking zoloft, is it possible for your body to adjust to the medication and the sexual side effects to decrease over time?
Avatar f tn I had an allergic reaction to zoloft about a week ago and it amped up my anxiety. So ive been taking .5mg lorazepams when needed. I used to be on 150mg bupropion but stopped when i got pregnant. Anyways Im scared now to take them both at the same time. I have post pardum depression and ive been exercising to help but its not fully helping. Any thoughts? The Zoloft reaction was the worse thing ive ever experienced with medicine. Severe hot flushes for over 24 hours.
5050843 tn?1362870326 This definitely could be withdrawal from the Zoloft and not the Wellbutrin. Zoloft is an SSRI and Wellbutrin is an atypical antidepressant...it's hard to transition from one drug to another when they're not from the same "family." I did manage to transition from Abilify (an antipsychotic) to Wellbutrin last fall so it can done but it was a rough few weeks. If the symptoms don't seem to be easing up at all you should go back to your doctor.
950277 tn?1247274551 I'm on it. It helps me quite a lot with my depression; I get WAY more energy and it helps me not to dwell too much on depressing issues and actually get out and do stuff insead of just lying around staring at the ceiling. I do have trouble sleeping, which Wellbutrin (bupropion) often does with its somewhat "speedy" way of working. It makes some people more anxious as well.
Avatar n tn I am on 100 mg of bupropion and was feeling a little anxious. Before taking bupropion, when I felt a little anxious my roommate would give me one of his ativan's, but a full 0.5 would make me sleepy…so I cut it down to 0.25 which worked nicely. I have started to do that with the bupropion…is that ok?
Avatar f tn I'm a 55 year old woman and been taking zoloft for 15 years. Once or twice I reduced from 200 to 50mg and started feeling depressed. My doctor then told me I would be on zoloft forever, that my brain needed it. Recently, my 31 year old daughter asked me to stop the zoloft, she didn't like the person I was, and wanted to old one back. I guess I'd like to find her again. I switched from zoloft to bupropion 100mg.
20632981 tn?1503687567 I'm sorry for confusing you. Let me start over, I've been on Zoloft 20yrs and it just isn't working that good at all. I'm only taking 25MG Tab. I tried 50MG and 100 but the higher I went with the Zoloft Medicine, the more Depressed I got. I could only take 25MG the Dr that put me on the Zoloft was an experienced psychiatrist and told me I was suffering from PMDD. I couldn't afford to continue going to see him, so I started getting my Meds (Zoloft) through my Primary Care Dr.
Avatar n tn I think Bupropion is Wellbutrin, an anti-depressant. I'm not really sure about it having the same effect as vicodin, but it could help if you're feeling depressed. I took wellbutrin as a teenager along with zoloft, and it worked well for me back then. I don't know much else about it other than that and I don't know your situation, but I hope it works for you!
Avatar f tn Being under that much stress and anxiety may be worse for you and the baby then the medications. In the end it is up to you and how you feel/what you feel you need.
Avatar m tn doc suggested going off of bupropion and switch to paxil. It has been 11 days. still taking the bupropion 150 and lamictal 100 but have had to start taking a lot more klonopin because to the rise in anxiety and I don't like taking this.
Avatar n tn Now, I am on 150 mg of Zoloft and Klonopin ( .5 mg 3x a day). I have been a clinical depressive since the age of 9 and was diagnosed with atypical depressive ( which I believe refers to the anxiety disorder). Wellbutrin worked well for me but at that time I was on Celexa. For some reason, Cymbalta caused bad side effects ( blood pressure dropping real low...nausea), so that is when I was put on Zoloft ( 50 mg ) about a year ago and slowly increased to my present dose.
1058304 tn?1257042315 I have had depression for many years and have been taking zoloft only. Up until recently I have never had depression bad enough to have physical effects. I didnt even know about the physical effects of depression. My depression and anxiety have gotten severe over the past few months. Today my doctor told me to keep taking the zoloft and he also told me to start taking welbutrin 150 xl. Supposed to effect different parts or chemicals of the brain.
4100850 tn?1351212549 i dealt with everything up untill 3 mnths ago i decided enough is enough. my dr has my info ive been on clonazepam zoloft and bupropion for 3 mnths. not sure meds r even working i still have headaches every day. and still dont want to go outside. i feel stupid.
Avatar m tn Oh and VIC - I'm on Zoloft and busiprone or Buspar, which is a mild anti anxiety. Can't say it does much or not though.
Avatar f tn Hi there...I take Wellbutrin XL (300 mg extended release bupropion) and no I didn't gain weight on it. I have been on differing doses for over 2 years. Also, no loss of sex drive if that is important to you which is a common side effect of most of the other medications used for anxiety.
1458799 tn?1328757528 Pharmacodynamics Bupropion is a relatively weak inhibitor of the neuronal uptake of norepinephrine and dopamine, and does not inhibit monoamine oxidase or the re-uptake of serotonin. While the mechanism of action of bupropion, as with other antidepressants, is unknown, it is presumed that this action is mediated by noradrenergic and/or dopaminergic mechanisms." (from drugs.com) The most important thing you need to keep in mind is that this is the next step in addressing your anxiety....
Avatar m tn I was taking Bupropion and Lamictal, and switched to Effexor. I have been on Effxor for three weeks. I have had the worst fatigue I have ever felt. So now I am unsure if it was coming off the Lamictal or if it was the Effexor. I am going to stop the Effexor, but I don't know if I should go back on just the Lamictal, The lamictal When I first started taking it, up to 200 mg worked fairly well. I guess my question is, is , has this kind of fatigue been know to be a side effect with Effexor?
Avatar f tn I was on bupropion and immediately quit taking it. If possible, I'm not going to take anything. I'm happy to say that I'm not having any problems and feel great. Thankful that the Lord has blessed me.
