As far as I know, the only two are intuniv and concerta. They use different formulations. No clue which is better. I think it probably depends on the individual. Both do take a while to take effect (compared to a stimulant). If you google them, you will be able to see lots of anecdotal posts on how it worked for that poster or their children.

Your doctor is being smart to not put you on a combination of Adderall and Concerta. They are both nervous system stimulants and together they can cause cardiac events such as a heart attack... How long have you been on the Bupropion? It can take 6-8 weeks to have any effect on your body..but that drug in most cases is not used to treat ADD and studies have proven that its not very effective in treating ADD.
I was prescribed Bupropion 100mg twice a day. The first couple weeks my wife and I both noticed a big improvement with my symptom of ADD. Than all of a sudden it stopped working. I told my doctor, he changed it to Bupropion 300mg XL. Its been a week and a half since its been changed and no improvement. What happened to make it quit working? Will it start if I give it some more time?
I am on 100 mg of bupropion and was feeling a little anxious. Before taking bupropion, when I felt a little anxious my roommate would give me one of his ativan's, but a full 0.5 would make me sleepy…so I cut it down to 0.25 which worked nicely. I have started to do that with the bupropion…is that ok?
Hi there...I take Wellbutrin XL (300 mg extended release bupropion) and no I didn't gain weight on it. I have been on differing doses for over 2 years. Also, no loss of sex drive if that is important to you which is a common side effect of most of the other medications used for anxiety.
I was taking Bupropion and Lamictal, and switched to Effexor. I have been on Effxor for three weeks. I have had the worst fatigue I have ever felt. So now I am unsure if it was coming off the Lamictal or if it was the Effexor. I am going to stop the Effexor, but I don't know if I should go back on just the Lamictal, The lamictal When I first started taking it, up to 200 mg worked fairly well.
I guess my question is, is , has this kind of fatigue been know to be a side effect with Effexor?
Three weeks ago, the Psychiatrist added in Intuniv...OH MY GOSH...the Concerta and Intuniv were PERFECT....Great days at school and an amazing kid emerged...Then at the end of two weeks he developed a tic...This was so horrible...They were happening about 12 - 16 per minute. raised eyebrows, eyes rolling to back of the head, head tilt to the side and a humming sound. We called Psych. and Concerta was stopped. However a week later, the tics are still here...not as frequent...
t know if I should start taking this drug if it is dangerous for me when combining pot and bupropion. I am 17 and 130 lbs if that would help for anything and am taking a dosage of 150 mg of bupropion. I just want to make sure nothing dangerous will happen if I do smoke, or how much I can smoke, or if there is anything I can do to lower risk of danger like not taking the drug on the days I smoke.
Did you try tapering up slowly to your old dose? Not that trying natural stuff is a bad idea, but it's hard to do correctly and as with anything else takes a lot of work and there's no guarantee it'll work. But if you're interested, a good book is Natural Highs by Hyla Cass, a psychiatrist at UCLA who uses natural medicine in her practice.
It is not an over dose and I am no doctor. That is the dosage my doctor gave me in fact he wanted me to take 2 150 mg a day. It didn't agree with me so I stopped... the ringing was even louder. I get ringing in my ears from aleve also , just from 1 pill.,I don't even take that anymore either. Anyway the ringing is driving me crazy so I won't be taking any more of this bupropion sr.
I am suffering from I believe depression I have problems sleeping this has recently started wierd thoughts and its very disturbing, I feel said and hopeless my doctor put me on Bupropion and I felt better the first day the next day I eel over active different? Have any one taken Bupropion and whats your reactions?
My husband has been taking Bupropion HSL SR 150mg for a few months and it doesn't seem to be working as well as the Bupropion XL 150mg he was taking for a few years before he was switched because, the pharmacy said, they could not get the Bupropion XL 150mg at that time. My husband has dementia. He takes the Bupropion in the morning along with his Aricept and Exforge (for blood pressure). He gets drowsy right after taking his pills and I think it may be the Bupropion HSL SR causing this.
I have been taking Concerta for one year. This was to counteract the fatigue and sleepiness that I had been getting from taking Paxil for depression. Though Concertat was initially effective, it gradually became more of a detriment than help. It made me very irritable, unfocused, and moody. I have worked with my doctor to gradually phase concerta out from the 72m I was taking daily.
We tried putting my 9 year old son (who has ADHD) on Concerta about a month ago and after about 4 days, he started frequently rolling his eyes involuntarily up and to the right. We took him off immediately, but the symptoms have persisted. I'm not sure if it was caused by the Concerta, as he'd previously been on it for a month about a year ago and did not display the eye rolling. Does anyone know if there is a correlation, and if this is something that will stop?
I'm currently on 300 bupropion, along with topamax 100 and still have had no weight losse. I just started the 300 bupropion after being on 150 last week and have already had crying spells but this was the week of my period so I was thinking I just could be "emotional". Before I was on Zoloft 25-150 bupropion but I ate to much on it, I'm hoping for weight loss but every antidepressant I take makes me eat what to do I do??

Bupropion (Wellbutrin) is a NDRI (norepinephrine-dopamine reuptake Inhibitor). Reuptake Inhibitors are thought to block the reabsorption (reuptake) of the targeted neurotransmitter by certain nerve cells in the brain. This theoretically leaves more of the neurotransmitter in the brain.
If you have low levels of neurotransmitters to begin with these medications either will not work well or work for a while then stop working.
I have also tried Paxil, Celexa and Zoloft and they all made me feel lethargic, sleepy and in the mood for nothing. Yes, bupropion makes it hard for me to sleep and makes me slightly edgy, but I get the energy and the feelings of motivation. it's really different for everybody. I don't get the tremors etc, though.
I was prescribed 300 mg xl of bupropion for anxiety that comes from a neurlogical problem in my eyes called Nystagmus. I think side effects of bupropion cause blurred vision and problems with one eye not moving in conjunction with the other which is horrible in addition to Nystagmus. I've lived with this because I was told bupropion is the least likeliest of pills to cause sexual disfunction. Is this true?
