Buprenorphine dose for cats

Common Questions and Answers about Buprenorphine dose for cats

suboxone

sorry forgot to add the 0.2mls prescribed was for the buprenorphine....too strong a dose will really zonk them out so best to err on the low side. good luck.
klonopin, buprenorphine, and if you can find a place outside the US for treatment, the most promising medication is ibogaine. Look it up on the internet. Treatment is available on St. Kitts. Contact Dr. Deborah Mash, University of Miami. One treatment with ibogaine seems to do the trick. If I ever have to get off my pain med, it's St. Kitts for me - or some other place that's not so expensive - if I can find one.
They will also give you places for outpatient help. There is also a CATS program (cronic addiction treatment) at every major hospital both incare and outpatient. If you have no insurance, they can also waiver the fee. Call your local hospital, this is all treated annonymously. I took Oxy's and percocets daily for pain for over 5 years. I never thought I had a problem until my boyfriend became addicted a year ago to Oxy's up to 300MG's a day plus 10 to 15 perc's a day.
both for people and safe for cats...again this one is the BEST brand to get for safety with cats b/c of NO fillers and additives... http://www.iherb.com/Doctor-s-Best-Best-Curcumin-C3-Complex-500-mg-120-Capsules/13#cid=DRB&p=1&oos=1&disc=0&lc=en-US&w=curcumin&rc=309&sr=null&ic=11 I also know of some others but need to find the time to get more info... a very good and SAFE homeo for pain is ARNICA....have you researched homeopathy?
even 5 mgs is a very low dose for the habit you had...you should be somewhere between 12 - 16 mgs for the first week...a split dose. you should be on the 16 mgs the doc prescribed...then you can lower it accordingly easily. the point of taking sub at the start is to completely avoid withdrawals. are you letting the tablet COMPLETELY dissolve under your tongue? it can take up to 20 minutes at times... naloxone sensitivity is very rare...
Also, the doc I worked for recommended not eating an hour before and after the dose, for better absorption and onset of action. She also recommended to try not to smoke before or after (about an hour also). Not sure how much of a difference all of that makes, but our patients sometimes reported that when they heeded her recommendations, they felt more "stable" with less peaks and valleys when dosing. Just some recommendations. How many times a day do you take it?
since the oral analgesic gave her some relief I would really suggest that no matter what the reason for these sores that she be put on a pain med. IMO one of the very best and safest for cats is buprenex(buprenorphine) which is also the main one used for dental pain.. the fentanyl mentioned in the article is also a safe choice. keep posting, we sure want to know how Maddie does...sending you both my prayers♄ http://www.marvistavet.com/html/body_plasma_cell_stomatitis.
The rate at which the methadone is decreased will be determined separately for each patient. The dose of methadone can be decreased on a daily basis or at two-day intervals, but the amount of intake shall always be sufficient to keep withdrawal symptoms at a tolerable level. In hospitalized patients, a daily reduction of 20% of the total dose may be tolerated and may cause little discomfort. In ambulatory patients, a somewhat slower schedule may be needed.
I stick with it because I remember how the T-train caused INCREASED pain all over my body, in places I never imagined I could have pain. I stick with it because I can remember what it was like to be in the FOG of TRAM, to walk into a room, and forget why I was there, I stick with it because I would rather not get killed on my motorcycle from being too fogged to care what I was doing.
doubtful. but if he does ask for BUPRENORPHINE (Buprenex) this is the safest for cats...but its an opiate and most Vets don't have on hand.use very small doses, even less than what they may give you, comes in a liquid and just needs to be squirted into their mouths.... No steroids unless absolutely needed.
We are all junkies! Just one big dysfunctional family! Addiction was a term used to describe a devotion, attachment, dedication, inclination, etc. EX: I am devoted to Vicodin! Detox, short for detoxification, in general is the removal of toxic substances from the body. EX: Detox fukin' *****! You are probably asking yourself, "who is this person, and how the hell do they know anything about detox and withdrawal?".
I am writing this down. Tell do cats who stop eating ever start eating again? I've never had this problem. Last week I nearly lost one of my dogs to very bad gastritis. I'm barely sleeping and eating - sorry if I'm rambling but it's just been a two week nightmare. And is it ok for her to get an appetite stimulant? The first time she was so hungry she cried but could not eat, the second time was in the hospital and it didn't make her eat at all.
open fourm, but i was looking for ways for people to pass the time of getting through the 1st month of getting of the pills, i know it can be so hard to pass the time. hope everyone is having a restful week end pax!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oxycontin.- While awaiting the scan results I was given oxycontin for pain relief, this seemed to do the trick for 2 weeks, 10mg 2x a day, then things hurt again so up the dose went 20mg 2x a day, then 40mg 2x a day, then 80mg 2x a day and up to 120mg 2x a day, recognise the scenereo anyone??..
But sometimes I see the suffering here and I want to cry out... We really do help each other here..I forget for a moment about my own demons when I see yours.. thank you for that..
For all those concerned about Brian, I have a few comments to make to him: (1) In the world of addiction, it is often darkest before dawn. Hopefully, your recent taste of the depths of despair will spur you on to work harder at Recovery, and to work your program as diligently as possible, taking every minute, hour and day one at a time in a concerted effort to stay clean and sober.
Now I change it every 2 days, still the 25mg dose. If I wait for the 3rd day, the pain starts coming back. I have a script for 150 vicoprohens a month. I'm allowed 5 aday. I rarely take more than 5 a week now. I never got high off pain meds, so I don't know if this is why I'm able not to take too much. I stronly recommend that any one with chronic pain try the patch. The only side effect I had was some nausea the first 2 days. I haven't, no kidding, even had a headache.
Has anyone tried homeopathic, or alternative modalities such as therapeutic touch or Trager work for relaxation ? I have an appointment with a trager therapist this week mostly for the pain aspects, I figure if I can get that under control and employ some relaxation modalities it might help. My heart and prayers go out to all of you. I feel your pain. God has been my biggest strength, as well as the love for my child, and myself... I want to be healed in everyway...I wish the same for you all.
Wait 12hrs from your last fix before you take the stuff. I feel like a reality media program: tune in and you too can share the ups and downs of .............."Sean's Withdrawals"!! Watch Sean as he goest to the detox clinic and winds up taking his meds too early. See the monster wave of sickly doom and naseau force him limping to the bank Men's room.
I was taking up to 800mg per day of Ultram just for the high, and i got a Rx of 120 per month for over a year.As the Doc says above , it is narcotic like.
I think because he was such a 'high functioning' user of sub on a very low dose for the two years, I think I was less than honest about the fact that my bf is in fact a recovery drug addict. The fact that I was able to say this yesterday was so emotionally freeing for us both. He's a good man and I love him to pieces! Thanks Sara, you ok?
I've sat here for the past 40 minutes reading every heart wrenching word you guys have written...I'm touched...and encouraged. I'd like to share my "problem" with you, ask for guidence and prayers... Two years ago, after suffering for 10+ years, I began taking Lortab then the Norco for chronic back pain after totaled 2 cars - (not my fault :).
Hi everyone - I have just come across this forum - and would like to ask help and advice. I have been taking nurofen plus (ibuprofen + codeine sulphate 12.8 mg per tablet) for 5 years - I take about 24 tablets per day (all at once - like the feeling along with the pain killing effects) I must give these up - for I understand this is addiction - and must find another way to deal with pain. I guess nurofen is much like tylenol (2? 3? 4?) - dont know which one.
