The short answer is that we do not know of problems from buprenorphine during pregnancy; realize that buprenorphine is NOT a new medication; it has been used for over 30 years as a pain reliever. I cannot find the exact information but from what I remember seeing in the dosing information on suboxone - they do not exactly know the effects to the fetus and therefore it is not suggested to be taken during pregnancy. I believe subutex is suggested instead of suboxone. Best bet is to talk to your doctor. Really it's is imperative your obgyn knows what's going on.

your sister hasnt been on subs before so she has no tolerance for buprenorphine so there will be no problem there. she will most likely just get a stronger buzz cuz she took both buprenorphine and hydrocodone together...

As far as comments like 'Sub caused me to have more pain'-- that is simply silly. The analgesic potency of buprenorphine is about equal to 60 mg of oxycodone, or 30 mg of methadone.
