Common Questions and Answers about Bumps under eyes cholesterol

bumps

Years ago I started getting these little bumps under my eyes that were more noticeable (I can see more of them)when I pulled down the skin. Then, ten years ago I was diagnosed with Hyperaldosterism. The endocrinologist said the lumps were a symptom ( not cholesterol or calcium deposits or skin tags- I can't think of the name she used)of the adrenal gland tumor. She said nothing could be done to get rid of the lumps.
I too have got the white circles under eyes and a couple of people have commented. My cousin suffers the same problem but much worse so I'm wondering if it heredity. Or hormones as I'm pregnant. I recently stopped drinking tea as much and cut down on chocolate and since then I have noticed a massive reduction in the whiteness in the circles :-) hope they clear up!
Hello, These spots are called xanthalesma. Xanthalesma / Xanthomas are deposits of fat/cholesterol in the eye lid. Possible causes are raised cholesterol, hyperlipidaemia states, diabetes mellitus and obesity. They cause no harm, but can increase in size producing cosmetic blemish. The only treatment is removal by surgery with/without skin grafting (depending on the size of the lesion) or use of laser (CO2 Laser). I hope that helps.
I have this too. It started last month under my left eye. Now I have 3 bumps the newest is the reddest. This is scary. I'll try Vaseline. Other creams help minimize but nothing cures it completely. I don't even really wear makeup!
He is 42 years old, and has always had these lumps-and I belive he may have only around 8-10 around his body, not as many as you do, but they don't really bother him unless they are in spots that cause pain. Therefore, the bad part of this, is that they can apparently be 'under the skin" and therefore an MRI and other medical tests have to be done to see what really is going on...all this money spent to diagnose a fat lump!
I've had these little white bumps under my tongue, on the roof of my mouth towards the back and on the inside of my lower lip for about a year and a half. They do not hurt. They are uncomfortable as my mouth feels rough using my tongue. They just appeared one day. I have been going to many specialist in Vancouver over the past year and a half and have stumped them all so far.
I've had these little bumps under my eye skin for about two years. They haven't gone away, even after daily exfoliation. I'm not using any oily products, and this *****!
I have had them. Does it feel like you have grit or sand in your eye when you move it? It is either an eye ulcer which will go away or it could be a sty.
I have had this problem on and off for over 13 years and I find that it occurs less when my weight is lower and my cholesterol is down and I'm under less stress. Also I find that I have had less occurrences on the quinine drug, virtually none until recently, when I gained ten pounds suddenly. These are things that have been considered in my case, but I'm a 40 year old woman. When these bumps appear, I often get dizzy and run a low fever and my face gets red and hot.
like the itch is under the skin. Mine are actually little slightly raised skin colored bumps or vesicles. They look like tapioca seeds under your skin. You will notice they are whiteish and don't blanch when the itching is really intense. The itching goes away if you don't scratch them for a while or apply cold to them...but it's incredibly and insanely annoying to try to leave them alone. You do just want to rip your hands and feet OFF! It's terrible.
I have just started having the same kind of pain, but it was preceeded by a bout of gastritis, once that was under control it began as a dull ache until it graduated to a terrible pain under my rib cage that tonight has begun to radiate to my back and it becomes more painful when I inhale deeply and lets not talk about SNEEZING!!! Tomorrow I'm going to see my Internist to see what's going on!! Good Luck and I'll keep you posted! P.S. It's seems worse at night. Is that possible?!

I have a small bump under my eyelid. It has been there a few moths. It looks like a whie head but is a little hard. I can't afford to go to a doctor.
When his cholesterol was at it's worse, he had yellow bumps all over his skin. It was gross! They were by his eyes and everything. This was so rare that his doctors sent him to a medical college an hour away so all the students could see it. They also took pictures of him, blotted out his eyes, and published the pics in books and medical journals. Too bad he couldn't have made some money off of it! Suprisingly, this doctor he sees told him to stay away from gluten-free stuff.
It is in the form of small yellow bumps under the surface of the skin of my upper lip. They have been there for at least 25 to 30 years, and I am not aware of them progressing. My father had some bumpy outcroppings around his eyes that the doctor told him were cholesterol. One of my sisters (an RN) also has something she says is similar. I know that xanthoma is a genetically aquired condition that is normally a symptom of hyperlipidemia, but am having trouble finding what to do about it.
I wasn't under any stress, things were fine, I spent the summer out in the sun constantly (maybe a little too much). I started feeling really really tired to the point where I didn't want to get out of the house much. I was really not feeling depressed or anything like that just exhausted. Went to the Dr. no mono, no thyroid probs, no abnormalities just a UTI which was treated with antibiotics and the same day I also got a flu shot. Two days later bam the nausea sets in.
I tell him, try to go back to sleep, but he doesn't. Then the next day he can't keep his eyes open at 7 p.m. so we have no evening time together. He has medication, but it doesn't do much, he gets used to it. I'm not the best sleeper either, the pain wakes me up. Sometimes hubby and I bump into each other in the night, lol!
I still have enough vision to walk around a room without bumping into things and to see outlines of people, but not enough to distinguish features or read. I can't take statins, am now diabetic and am working to keep my cholesterol and sugar under control with diet and exercise. It is my understanding they can help the macular edema that sometimes comes with a CRVO now and I don't think that was an option when I had mine.
One day i found a small bump under my skin right in middle of the edema area. It was a keloid that was later surgically removed under the skin. After that symptoms disappeared. Try to find your bump, if there is one to find. Mine was not visible on any mri / x-ray or naked eye on the skin. Really only afterwords from the photos i can hardly see it. Only way you will find it is by touching when swelling is not present. So it was inflammation that did not show up on any test.
I have noticed an increasing problem with blurriness in my left eye. I have not contacted an eye doctor, but have considered it because my glasses are fairly new. It is as though my mild astigmatism has gotten worse all of a sudden. I don’t know if this has anything to do with the rest of it, but because it is on my left, I thought I should write about it here. 7. My emotional state seems quite normal, but maybe a bit “flat.
It is sharp and sudden. They are less frequent when my head is still. There are no cuts or bruises there and I have not bumped it anywhere (at least when I have been awake). Other than fast head movements, the pain is pretty unpredictable. It could strike and then not happen for a few minutes or it could continue for a few minutes (on,off,on,off...with less than second between).
Also had a liver biopsy in May 08, but did not get results back yet.Add high blood pressure and high cholesterol to that. Now, since I had to have medical clearance for the hysperoscopy, the Dr took and EKG in her clinical office, and said I needed to have a stress test done. I REFUSED. She said she "thinks", from reading the EKG that something is wrong with my heart. Since I refused, she ordered an ultra sound of my heart instead.
this is different than my typical double vision because it is present in each eye individually (when I close one eye, there is still double vision). This is present in each eye. Scares me, but is gone in the morning. 6/2008: *Wake up and notice that one eye is very blurry. Does not go away after an hour so I go see doctor. They do exams on me but can't find anything wrong other than my pupils are abnormally large. Bluriness eventually diminishes.
They also tend to stick to blood vessel walls, which can block arteries to the brain and cause a stroke. High blood cholesterol - People with high blood cholesterol have an increased risk for stroke. Also, it appears that low HDL (“good”) cholesterol is a risk factor for stroke in men, but more data are needed to verify its effect in women. Poor diet - Diets high in saturated fat, trans fat and cholesterol can raise blood cholesterol levels.
Then I started seeing spots and kind of like a red-green film with bright white spots along the edge in my right eye vision and it seemed to get darker with my right eye open. My left eye is normal. If I close my right eye, the light level returns to normal. I started to get dizzy, like spinning. My heart was racing and had a cold sweat. Then my side vision for only my right eye went hazy then black for about 45 minutes. Luckily everything went back to normal.

I know you said my symptoms are not congruent with herpes but, I have a mark on the under side of my penis in the skin fold i noticed it today when i was limp.
2. But 2 days ago, I woke up with a pain on my penis. So I checked it out and found out a raised bump on the left side of my penis shaft. It looked like a pimple to me. So I popped it, and a white acne-like stuff came out. And right now, it's still bumpy and reddish, and it's slightly sore when it's pressed. I think it's in the state of healing. I'm really concern that this might be a herpes or warts. Is this a symptom for herpes or genital warts?
Some CRP tests can tell if you are more prone to heart attacks and that is why my pcp ordered it for me - because my cholesterol was up (caused by thyroid) and he wanted to put me on cholesterol med, but I kept refusing it because I felt that when my thyroid levels got back in line, so would my cholesterol.
